Service was very slow. Food was excellent. Very noisy restaurant, we had one table near us which made conversation difficult. After that table cleared a party at another table got very loud. A table for two near us also complained about the noise level.

A perfect dinner from start to finish! We had fresh shrimp cocktail and cherrystones to start. Hot delicious bread. Lovely wine. Outstanding rack of lamb, perfectly cooked. Companion had fabulous pork chop. We shared Mashed potatoes that were fabulous. Gelato for dessert. Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely pleasant.

This was a really cut restaurant nestled in the Mariana. I dined on the halibut which was week prepared and very delicious. I ordered the baked potato as my side which was a tad over cooked but still edible. I also had the French onion soup was to me was the star of the show. This was some of the French onion soup I’ve ever had. Our waitress was also so attentive and personable she simply a pleasure to talk to and gave us so much personal information about Newport in order to make sure our trip was a fun one.

Celebrating our 52nd Wedding Anniversary. Carol was our server and was wonderful. I asked for my swordfish to not be overcooked!! It was a thin piece, and it was overcooked. She took it and quickly brought back another piece done the way I requested. She was attentive to her tables and very pleasant as well. One question, why do you not offer a smaller bowl of chowder and salads. They are so huge it is too much to eat in one sitting before the entrees are delivered. I don’t understand why The NRG does this in most of your restaurants. You end up losing from me because I don’t order them anymore because my husband usually orders soup or chowder. So no one to split the salad with.

It was Newport Boat Show weekend and we made a reservation with dear friends to meet for lunch. They were finishing up a tour of New England and had no idea that the boat show was in full swing. We got to the restaurant a bit early and were seated immediately. Our server was just fabulous and let us visit for a while and we never felt rushed. For apps, we tried the Grilled octopus as well as the Crab & Corn fritters, and both were great. For lunch we had the Wedge Salad, Cod Sandwich, and King Chinook Salmon (definitely plate envy!). I would highly recommend 22 Bowen. Everything was perfect and so lively and fun! Shout out to our server-if only I could remember his name...

Our waitress was outstanding!! I wish I could remember her name. Our reservation was at 3:00 and we sat at a table right by the window/doors. Great personality!! Food as always was great! We will be back!!

We were a party of 4 on the Thursday of the Newport Boat Show. Had a 1:00 reservation. The restaurant was very busy -but we were seated promptly. Our Server was very pleasant, food came out quickly and was fresh and delicious. Will definitely go back.

The halibut and swordfish were cooked perfectly. The optional sauces recommended by Jennifer complimented nicely. Cocktail with pineapple infused vodka was quite good. My vodka gimlet with fresh lime juice was spot on. Nice environment. Professional staff.

A great location with open-air dining as an option. The service is excellent and the food is very good. We ate there for dinner, not our first visit. It can get a bit pricy since all sides are a la carte.

It was a great meal. My requests for an inside window seat, as well as for Fabio as our waiter were fulfilled. The service was perfectly paced, the food and drinks were wonderful. So great to go somewhere that wasn't noisy! Service was excellent and the menu offered so many great choices, it was difficult to pick just one. Oysters were sweet and substantial, and all of our entrees were the perfect size, not too big/small, and interesting enough without being too unusual. Great pick for a wide variety of preferences.

We live Bowens and always dine here when up from NY. My wife and sat outside on a Thursday night after Labor Day. The daily catch was mahi mahi and the dish was outstanding. See you again soon hopefully

We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and we got a perfect table outside. The waiter however was not attentive at all and dishes piled up, water was not refilled, he seemed missing. For the cost of dinner we would have expected better service.

Our service was great, even the manager with his cool jacket came by to see if everything was okay. Love sitting with a white table cloth next to the sailboats with their wooden masts. Tip: order the 22 Bowen steak. Magnificent!

Had the bronzino. On the menu it did not say that the fish was not de boned. It was almost impossible to eat because of all the bones in the fish. We made the manager aware when she visited our table and she apologized, took the item off of our bill and bought us dessert. Truly a nice gesture. I will say that we come to Newport often and 22 Bowen’s is a regular stop for us. We will be back for sure.
