The beautifully restored historic mansion offers intimate dining in 8 elegantly appointed rooms, as well as a beautiful 2-tiered riverside terrace for alfresco dining. 529 serves exclusively Prime Beef, the best available in Canada, as well as fresh fish and seafood. The restaurant is proud to offer Manitoba’s highest rated wine list, Wine Spectator Magazine’s Best of Award of Excellence since 2004. Please note: 529 Wellington is a two-storied building without an elevator. Please indicate if there are any mobility issues for any diners in the party.

    The $100 12oz steak was flavorless and slightly burnt. I've eaten here several times before and always loved it. Took a friend for their first time and we were quite disappointed

    A chicken sandwich and a small Caesar salad with jumbo shrimp were so delicious. The sunroom seating was so pleasant on a Fall day. We enjoyed a perfect lunch, as usual. Thank you!

    The food was good but the steaks were way overpriced. The service was attentive but maybe just a bit interruptive. I like this restaurant but I truly believe that it is now getting carried away with the image of being a fine dining experience. I travel a lot and recently did an analysis of the cost of hotels and restaurants in the past 5 years. Here is what I have found. The price for a hotel room in Canada, the UK and Dublin has grown by 47.5 % since 2020. The same is true for the cost of dining in fine dining restaurants. I call this "The Covid Effect" because Covid seems to have given these establishments the incentive to make up what they feel they may have lost during Covid. The same is true with airline flights. I am finding it harder to accept this phenomena. I will begin cutting back on these expenses.

    First time at 529 and it was a great decision to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. The meal was cooked to perfection. The service (Roger) was very friendly and gave wonderful advice. We will definitely be coming back again.

    Excellent service. I always enjoy my meal. The beef carpaccio was ok, not a lot of flavour. The chicken liver pate was a big portion, and tasty. The onion ring tower always a hit. The au gratin potatoes serving size was at most for two people compared to the fries and mac n cheese portion. The beef Wellington was delicious. Overall it was all delicious. My husband and I with our friends are looking forward to going back
