Best steakhouse ever ! My wife and I wanted to get away from the kids and enjoy a nice night out and everything was amazing . Mike was our server he was very friendly and attentive , he made the night very enjoyable. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a wonderful night with their significant other.
Mike was our server and he was super friendly, very attentive and recommended an excellent South African cab to go with our meat. Always an amazing meal and atmosphere.
As always Five is a wonderful experience all the way around. Great food, service and ambience. Will be back.
I have several food allergies and the chef worked around them to make me a special meal with special sauces that was truly excellent. The service was wonderful. Thanks Hannah! And the ambiance on the patio by the fountain was delightful. Wonderful experience!
This was the first experience my husband and had dining at 5ive and we will definitely return. Our server, Mike, took excellent care of us. The food, cocktails and wine were delicious and priced fairly for a high-end restaurant. The restaurant was clean and decorated nicely. Definitely a place for date night, dinner with friends or clients.
The outdoor seating is peaceful and relaxing, the food was wonderful and our server Mike was great! Mike gave us some great recommendations and was very friendly. It was a fun night!
It was our first time dining at Five, and we were very satisfied. The setting was beautiful, the food was beyond delicious and our server Mike was very attentive and knowledgeable. Will definitely be going back.
The short rib meat was not short rib, but a substitute roast.
5ive is a hidden gem! Their weekend brunch menu is carefully curated and delicious and changes seasonally. Their dinner menu is focused on delicious locally sourced meats. The scallop entree is amazing.
Service was excellent, but it’s a far, far reach to call this a steakhouse. Appetizers good and while steaks are overpriced and sides all ala carte, like well-known true steakhouses, the steaks we had were not only unmemorable, two were fatty to the point of being inedible. Our server noticed we didn’t eat them and offered to have them cooked longer, but fat is fat no matter length of cooking time and burned fat still unpalatable (probably should have said that then). Would like to see 5ive make menu changes, perhaps drop the ‘steakhouse’ attempt, return to their previous good food.
Excellent food, the wife was very impressed with her surf and turf and I was equally as pleased with my filet. Extraordinary service and very ritzy throughout the entire property.
Food was cold steaks were under and over cooked food took forever to come out they were not busy only 3 tables used
Waiter did the best he could
My fiancé and I visited for a birthday and shared a 32oz wagyu tomahawk which was excellent. Overall, the food was notable.
The service, however, was terrible. We had empty water glasses after asking several times for more water. Our drinks took 25 mins to arrive at the table after ordering. The waiter was aloof and inconsistent. I don’t believe in leaving less than 20% for a tip, but did this time. For the cost of the meal, the service left much to be desired.
Steaks were quite good, except for one medium rare/medium which was essentially raw. Major issue was the wait staff: no attention to the customer or their needs (such as order taking, refilling water glasses, waste plate pick-up) and the worst arguing with the customer on how a mixed drink should be made (orange juice doesn't belong in a Manhattan)
Made 5ive/Five part of our 23rd anniversary celebration and boy did they make it special. I noted in my Open Table reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and the team at 5ive/Five took note and made sure that our evening was perfect. The hostess who met us wished us a happy anniversary when we arrived and greeted us by name. Mike, our server, also greeted us by name and wished us a happy anniversary several times. It was really nice. Mike even went so far as to give us a free dessert as an anniversary gift. The cheesecake we ordered came with a chocolate medallion with happy anniversary written on it. It was a small thing but it made the evening that much more special. Mike was awesome!!
The food was amazing. 5ive/Five is noted as a steak house but the seafood offerings were tempting as well. Because steak was the specialty of Five we decided to both go with the steak. My wife had the ribeye and I had the filet. Both were wonderful, but the real miracle came with one of the sides. I typically hate brussel sprouts that aren't drowning in blue cheese, balsamic vinegar and bacon. But Five's brussel sprouts had just a little bacon and they were wonderful...I even had a second helping! The setting is very romantic with deep wood walls and an intimate setting. We had an early reservation but I'd love to go back after dark to see what 5ive/Five is like after dark. Gorgeous settings on the golf grounds of the Inn at St. John's make 5ive/Five one of my new favorites.
Please give 5ive/Five a try, the food is outstanding and the service is truly top notch.
The salted butterscotch creme brule was one of the best things I've ever had. It was extraordinary!
Outdoor patio very nice
Becoming our favorite special dining spot in the area. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the patio seating. Steaks are wonderful. And you must ask for Mike to be your server. So attentive, friendly and polite.
Wonderful as usual. Very hard to find a restaurant that is consistent and this one is amazingly so. Staff is superb, food is fresh and presentation is spot on.
Took my wife for our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. The food was delicious, filet miegon, with a side of macaroni and cheese, as well as corn cakes. The wine list was impressive, and we had no problem finding something we enjoyed. The waitress was excellent and responded to our needs before we could express them. It made for a memorable anniversary evening.
Service was excellent, food was very good. Wine was great.
Would have given it 5 stars for food if the steaks were cooked exactly like ordered. Otherwise it was excellent, service too.
We always have an exceptional meal at 5ive. We love sitting in the bar area where our favorite waiter/bartender John is. He takes great care of us and has a professional yet fun personality. By sitting in the bar, we can select from 2 menus: the Bar menu or the Dining room menu. The steaks, salads and specials have all been excellent. We cannot wait until the patio opens.
Mistie H is the best server we have ever had the pleasure. Her recommendations led us on our journey of taste that never missed a beat.
The waiter John is awesome he know how to make customers to come back. I like to go on Thursday for dinner for the music in the lounge.
It is great they have a bar menu but some of the dishes are not up to the level of the restaurant. I had a very mediocre burger. Its patty can not even beat the Mc Donald one.
The chef should pay attention to the quality of the ingredients of every item in the menu.
The lounge can get very noisy so you can hardly listen the live music played. Probably some improvement in the acoustic of the lounge room is needed or please think to some other trick to make the music more audible but not overwhelming
Came here for a birthday. Couldn’t have been happier with the experience At the end of the day it’s a restaurant in the hotel so typically you don’t expect much. I’ve had lunch here before on the patio but never in the dining room until this visit. Both occasions were very good experiences. I’ve worked in the food industry for 20 years from family-style to finefine dining, in all aspects. I can honestly say they checked every box that a guest would expect. Dining room, table, seating and floor all very clean. Woodpaneled walls typical of us a steakhouse but everything maintained perfect. Staff very well trained and very knowledgeable of their menu. Everyone from start to finish was friendly extremely accommodating.
Truly service and ambiance on a par with restaurants at double this price point.
The food was very fresh I could tell it was above average ingredients presented modern flair.
This is the best Filet Minion ever. The food was amazing, the service was perfect. This is a hidden gem.
WE have always enjoyed Five. They have a wonderful menu with great steaks. Their wine list is nice and varied and well priced. The service is always good and the atmosphere is relaxing and you can actually hear each other with normal voices. Recommend it for any occasion and definitely worth dinner on the outdoor patio in the summer.
We are relatively new to the area and are trying restaurants out. 5ive was the next on our list. We arrived and were seated immediately. We ordered a bottle of wine, split a wedge salad, each ordered filets, and buttermilk mashed. For dessert, we had the cherry cheesecake.
First, I will say The the service was fantastic, and the food was delivered as ordered. I loved the wedge salad. I love when my wife wants a wedge, because she does not like blue cheese. That means I get double cheese. Not much else to say there.. Who wouldn’t love a wedge with double cheese!?!?
The filets were cooked to order and had a light crunch on top that made it amazing. The potatoes were hot creamy and delicious and dessert featured a sour cream glaze, cinnamon graham cracker crust, and spiced cherries.. the combination of sweet, sour, spicy, crunchy, and creamy all in a single bite hit every taste bud!
And while the food was good, it was a bit pricy, the decor was definitely old world, and there was really nothing that stood out. I would say this is good if you are having an all-male business dinner, however, there is really nothing that drew either of us to say we would come back.
A family luncheon following a funeral needed a special quiet spot and this was it. Nick, our waiter, dis a great job meeting all our needs and handling the invoices at the end of the meal.
We really enjoyed our dinner. The filet was properly cooked and delicious. The scallops were also very good.
5 West is a very elegant setting, with rich dark wood walls. It is a nice escape from the usual pizza and burger eateries. The mood is cozy and unpretentious. If you are going for a special occasion as we did, I suggest a booth in the dining room. It was quiet and relaxing. Perfect for dinner conversation. The food was cooked just the way we requested. Service was attentive and not intrusive. The price is what was expected for the type of food quality and atmosphere we were looking for. A very enjoyable evening.
Entertained a group of 7 for a celebration. Food cooked to perfection, plenty of gluten-free, vegan options. Service was excellent
Elegant ambience, superb service and attention to detail, excellent cuisine and presentation. A pleasant and first rate initial experience; will return for another occasion when in Plymouth area.
Awful rude bunch of loudmouths ruined evening for everyone else last night. Almost 30 people at one table acting like they were drunks at a football game. What a shame
The food was great and for its price was worth it for sure. The steaks were amazing as well as the appetizers. The drinks were a little expensive for what you got but they could have been worse. the service makes it all worth it. the waiter was extremely friendly and went over any questions we had. The bartender was extremely friendly and had great recommendations.
We had a good meal and the waiter was excellent.
We enjoyed having John wait on us.
The food was excellent and the environment had the ambiance.
Our friends we went to diner actually said he has not had such a nice meal in 5 years.
Food was fantastic and the service was great!
Our waiter was extremely thoughtful! His service was astounding. The food is DELICIOUS. Definitely going back!
We went to celebrate Valentine's Day three days late. I had a hard time finding reservations anyplace in Ann Arbor so decided to try supper at the 5ive. We 'd had appetizers on the patio over the summer but this was the first time we sat down for supper. We shared a NY strip and an entrée of risotto. The steak was one of the best I've ever had ($45) and the risotto was delicious. We each had a glass of rose wine (can't recall the name) but it was a beautiful wine. We were both full at the end of the meal and couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. At $120 for the meal, it wasn't the cheapest experience but it certainly was nice. I recommend trying the 5ive rather than heading to AA for a crowded place with no parking.
