My wife called (my sister and husband visiting from England) to say we were running late. Ok. We get there 10 minutes late and are told we no longer could have our table. I look in the dining room and see half the tables are empty. Reluctantly, we are shown to a table. One hour later we get our appetizers after being told they only had one item left. Main course, same, ordered halibut and told only one left. Cod instead. It came in a mush over mashed potatoes… making it almost indistinguishable from the bed of potatoes. I ordered filet minion medium rare… it came bloody and barely warm in the middle. We’ve eaten here many times before but this was an exceptionally bad experience.

When we travel in this area, this is on our “let’s go again” list. Originally recommended by the Innkeepers at Follansbee Inn, where we stay in North Sutton NH, 74/Millstone has never disappointed. Jennifer, our waitstaff member was great. Attentive, went at our relaxed state, while delivering well presented apps and dinners.

I asked for a quiet corner to be able to hear conversations and there was a group of women in the opposite corner who were having a great time but made our time together problematic to talk. Oh well …

74 Main was fabulous in all respects. The food was the best I've ever had in this town since I moved here 30 years ago. The service was extraordinary--and gracious!--despite he fact that our dinner companions arrived 30 minutes late. The quiet table we requested was a booth at one end of the row, so we barely even knew there were other people around us. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Beautifully served and prepared meal! Sarah our server did a wonderful job. We eat here often and we appreciate the varied menu and abundance of daily special items. Great value great place.

My Wife and I had the short rib special and let me tell you, it was so delicious and best part, it was HOT when it was served to us. I’ve paid that kind of a price before somewhere else and wasn’t happy at all. This was money well spent in my eyes.
