I think this is an excellent Turkish restaurant. I look for restaurants that offer more than just Kebabs, they offer actual what in Türkiye are referred to as "kitchen food". In other words, actual dishes, like stuffed cabbage, my person favorite. When I look for an ethnic restaurant, I look in the reviews for people from that ethnicity, for their review. Because being a tourist in İstanbul doesn't make you an expert. I grew up eating Turkish food and age 61 I think I'm a decent judge. This restaurant is very good, the soup was very good, had the aci ezme, very good, the sigara börek, excellent. I recommend this restaurant as authentic with a broader offering then just kebabs.

The best Turkish restaurant in Midtown/Hell's Kitchen. Fresh, delicious salads, perfect kebabs, warm and personal service. Great portions at a fair price and a BYOB.

An always reliable solid choice for dinner before Lincoln Center, have been coming here regularly for years. Very good Turkish cuisine, especially fond of the egg plant salad, kebabs, and stuffed cabbage. Turkish coffee and baklava for dessert

We were seated promptly and were welcomed warmly. The food was well prepared and the portions were very ample. We had a comfortable, leisurely dinner and were out in plenty of time to see our show.

My dish didn’t taste very appetizing. The chicken was not very tender and overall taste was less than okay for a restaurant with good reviews. My family was celebrating my mom’s birthday and we didn’t eat very much at all because the food prepared was not good. Even the lettuce in the salad tasted dry and had no dressing whatsoever. The bread on the other side was delicious but unfortunately you don’t go to a restaurant to eat bread only.

Lovely fresh food, however the flavor in the dressings could be amped up. The salads dressings tasted very plain. We ordered Greek salad, Shepard’s salad, lamb chops, eggplant salad beet salad, trout and salmon to share and everything was nicely presented and fresh. The salmon was a bit plain too could have used some fresh herbs or spice.

This is an always reliable place to eat; especially for performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. The service and food are always good. And one can BYOB. THUS THIS IS A REASONABLE PLACE TO DRINK AND EAT. NYC is the home of way over priced wine.

As soon as they delivered the bread - thick, crusty pita - we knew we were in for a very good meal. The Shepherd's Salad was large, fresh, and delicious. Our meals were unique recipes, substantial in size, and also excellent. If I had to find a minor quibble, it's that the restaurant appears to serve wine, but we saw no mention of that on the menu.

Well worth the visit. They were pretty busy tonight. We were there and although they took a while to get to us, they certainly were very quick once we put our orders in. I would definitely go back next time I visit NYC.

Our second visit to ABA Turkish Restaurant (""ABA"). We really enjoy ABA, the food is outstanding, the portions large, the prices quite moderate. You can BYO wine. We started with the cold appetizer mixed plate. We had the lamb shank and the Sultan's Delight. Finished with baklava. Each dish was truly delicious! Very casual, nice decor. Service can be a bit slow at times. Conveniently located relative to both NYC Center and Lincoln Center. A great choice for pre-theater dining. Very highly recommended.

Servers were friendly; service was poor. Food was poor. For example, the head arrived with the trout even though “no head” was requested. The trout itself was overdone and dry. The eggplant salad, okay, but ot good.

my only problem is that the prices have gone up considerably but the portions get smaller and smaller - with the kebab you used to get a big serving of rice and a delightful salad of lettuce and red cabbage - on thursday night there were 5 or 6 strips of ancient lettuce and maybe 6 or 7 strips of dry red cabbage the rice pudding was also half the size it used to be - before two of us couldn't finish it - now i ate it almost all by myself good thing you can still take your own wine - otherwise the value ratio would be much worse and the service is always wonderful and the bread and olive oil

ABA Turkish Restaurant is great. Some friends recommended it. Excellent food, knowledgable servers who offer great suggestions, very large portions, very reasonable prices, great value. Attractive decor and nicely-spaced tables. We had the Banti appetizer (small Turkish meat dumplings), the lamb shish kebab, the lamb shank, and pistachio baklava. Each dish very highly recommended. A glass of house wine available. Fresh brewed tea was great. Try the Turkish coffee, but be ready for the caffeine! Highly recommended.

This is a family friendly restaurant with good food. Good for large groups of people. There is no real decor but the food is fresh and good. Reasonably priced, especially for the neighborhood. Wine and beer is served. The lamb dishes, appetizers and eggplant dishes are excellent.
