I found the service great! I did think the price for the food and what you get was a little high. I have had prime rib at alot of places and it did not seem you got 10 oz even my husband said the same thing.
Prime Rib dinner is supreme.
And James Bond would love the Martini.
Food was outstanding and wine great. After the meal we had creamer brûlée it was outstanding!!
We bith had the salmon...it was deliciuos. We shared the dessert platter...it was great too. The caesar salad was great as was tge hot soup...whole meal was wonderful!
Have been coming to Aberfoyle Mill for many years. It is consistently high quality food with staff who are attentive, informative and pleasant.
One of our favorite places
To visit when we’re in town. Food and service are always excellent and the chef is very accommodating to anyone with special dietary requirements.
Overpriced for the food we were served. The shrimp linguine was particularly disappointed.
I have been eating at the Aberfoyle Mill for over 45 years and have never had anything but a positive experience.Keep up those high standards!!!
The staff are so kind and understanding. We always seem to run in to a difficulty of some kind, but they never let on that it's anything but normal. We love coming to Aberfoyle Mill.
Wonderful food. Exceptional service.
Went for a birthday celebration on a Sunday for the prime rib. Service was quick and food delicious as always.
Great food and service. Very unique setting
Worth the drive from Thornhill! The striploin, done medium, was outstanding, and the white choc/raspberry cheesecake (large and nicely presented, so we shared) provided a very satisfying conclusion.
Birthday dinner for 2 friends Excellent food. But need to improve the tea. Had Higgins bag earl grey tea no flavour. Suggest changing brand to Twinnings or a more flavourful brand of tea. Otherwise everything was excellent.
Great ambience, food is average, service is great, easy parking
Aberfoyle is great. What sets this place part is the department of their servers. They know why they are doing plain and simple.
Not enough Room for my review, sorry! But, in a nutshell?
The food was not up to our expectations (at least, no one raved about it, and mine and my wife's fish and our Granddaughter's fish was not as good as that she makes at home), but the presentation was quite nice. The service was not acceptable, but that may have been just me and our particular server, and it revolved around two issues I have with payment. One is the business of these machines including HST in the tip calculation and the other has to do with servers looking over my shoulder while I type in my PIN and make my tip selection. On the other hand, the atmosphere was pleasant and relatively quiet.
Will we go back? No, we have had relatively positive experiences there in the past, but I think this finished it for good! Sorry! Nice old MILL!
Certainly a nice place in the country with good food. Unfortunately the service at this visit was not as could be expected for an establishment like this. We were seated in the loft, right by the stairs with the railing. With the exception of serving the main menu, our server made it only about 2/3 up the stairs, and did all the “transactions” over the railing. This was very awkward! He also never offered fresh water or more hot water for the tea. We did address the issue with a manager and were reassured that this was not standard practise and the issue would be rectified. Still, our evening was not as special as it could have been.
We so enjoyed returning to the Mill to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Great service and delicious food! We will be back in another 5
We went to Aberfoyle Mill to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary because that is where we were married 20 years ago. The staff were very friendly, the food was great, and they even gave us a complimentary piece of lemon cake to celebrate!
Great food and service . Nice atmosphere as well . Would definitely recommend
I am sorry to say our experience was quite disappointing. We were originally seated in a dark corner, when there were other open tables in the main room. The Caesar salad was good, but not for the price. All three of us had the prime rib which was not medium-rare as requested and the au jus was too thick and tart - it did not enhance the flavour of the meat. The price for the quality did not equal value. It will be many more years until we return.
Great formal venue for Celebrations such as a graduation. Everyone liked their meal especially the unique twist of warm bacon on the ceasar salad and the prime rib was amazing. Corkage fee only $15 for non Canadian wines and $10 for Canadian. Waiter won my husband's respect immediately.
Food was fantastic and servers and wait staff were friendly. It did take a while for my table (table of 6) to get our food however, so I would be wary if you are in a hurry.
Great place to dine with friends, attentive servers with good suggestions
Very nice experience on table #9. We will visit again when we are in the area.
We have been to the Aberfoyle Mill many times and this visit for my brother's birthday was excellent as usual. The food was excellent and so was the service. The only disappointment was that they ran out of their signature prime rib entree and at only 6:30 pm. If you want a great restaurant with excellent food, service and ambiance then this is it.
We hadn't been to this restaurants in 50 years and wow it was as good, maybe even better than we remember. The hostess Katie was wonderful - we hadn't seen her in a couple of years and she treated us so well. Actually everyone did. We had a wonderful meal, a wonderful table and we will be back much sooner this time. Thanks for a wonderful evening. Blake & Sandra
Always a pleasure to dine at the Aberfoyle Mill Consistently .excellent food and service .
We’ve been here a couple of times and loved it! The food and service was exceptional both times.
We often go after seeing a play in Stratford as it is half way one andcwe can avoid traffic I had a martini which was perfect and my spouse a Manhattan which was delicious I ordered the Salmonnas it is cooked with a pistachio crust and the yummiest butter sauce , fresh asparagus and wild rice rounded out a wonderful meal My spouse had the beef tenderloin which too was tender and delicious. Creme brûlée for dessert which was light and flavourful. As always an excellent place to dine.
I had asked for a quiet area for myself and seven friends to have lunch. We were given a lovely room all to ourselves. We were treated royally and therefore enjoyed our delicious food. Thanks you very much!
The restaurant is quaint and rustic. Full of interesting antiques. The front room has more charm than the back room. Cosy bar stocked with a large selection of wines.
Food was top notch. I had the weekend Prime Rib special which was delicious, although could have been a bit hotter. My guest had special of the day, the Halibut, which was also delicious.
Will definitely be back in the summer. Not sure if there is a patio but it would definitely be an asset.
Excellent as always!! Highly recommend Aberfoyle Mill
Great spot for a warm and inviting lunch - food was fantastic and the service was exceptional - thank you for the opportunity
The caesar salad and shrimp for lunch was excellent! We will be back.
This is a nice venue and staff were efficient and friendly. My dining partner commented on the "sogginess" of the vegetables that came with the pickerel. I had the salmon and it was excellent. Wine selection was reasonable and complemented the menu items.
Perfect for a quiet romantic dinner
Other than washroom not easily accessible for a person with mobility challenges, we enjoyed our experience very much.
Service was excellent, food was good, but has been better at other visits. All in all I would visit again
