Restaurant Above, at the Hilton Hotel in Times Square, serves classic American fare from its eatery perched 21 floors above Times Square for an incredible view and exciting atmosphere. The herb marinated grilled chicken skewers with lemon aioli and the spicy guacamole with tortilla chips make perfect starters to your meal. Some of Restaurant Aboves specialty house entres include the lobster with sherry and fontina cheese crispy crust mac and cheese with arugula tomato salad, the steak frites grilled New York strip steak topped with garlic spinach and the seared Atlantic salmon fillet topped with herb butter. For a sweet finish to your meal, enjoy the tangy lemon tart topped with raspberry coulis. Be sure to enjoy your meal and the beautiful view with one of Restaurant Aboves signature cocktails, like the longacre square with gin, pomegranate juice, pear puree, lime juice and sage.

This is a pleasant restaurant for a pre-theatre lunch. Proximity to Times Square is its best attribute. The food is good, but the service was extremely slow and not well trained.

Not easy to get to, no near parking. Restasurant is very open, all the way in back of hotel lobby and bar. Food was inadequate, menu limited. Butternut Squash soup tastedike cinnamon flavored water, Salmon dry. The wine list was also very limited. All in all, not a pleasant dining experience, unfortunately.

It was nice to be able to be in a restaurant that was so quiet, especially on a night like Valentine's day. However, it was quiet because nobody was there. The food was alright, but overpriced, and the service was nothing special. Good wine, and a nice view, though. I would only go here for drinks, unless you are specifically seeking a place where there won't be other people.

The food was good but expensive. No Maitre D, no hostess, and few customers. The bar was busy and very noisy, but there was very few customers in the dining room. Lonely. Decor has been allowed to deteriorate. The only reason to eat here has been its location--particularly for the Roundabout's American Airlines theater. Wolfgang's Steak House on 41st should virtually put them out of business if they are not already there.

At ABOVE, I had the best Cuban sandwich I'd ever had! The Restaurant Week menu was wonderful, and the black bean soup on it rivaled my own. There was avocado diced atop the soup, and also crispy pancetta-like croutons. All in all, a very satisfying lunch. Our waiter, Gazi, is a favorite of ours, too.

The write ups we read talked about this spectacular view. When we got there, it was a simple view midway up the hotel. The restaurant is basically the hotel lobby restaurant. Service was okay. The waiters seemed like they were more bothered by our presence. The food was okay. So, nothing really special.

We chose this restaurant because of its proximity to Times Square, and the location does not disappoint. The food, however, was somewhat disappointing. Each dish was edible, but not memorable. A little more tweaking could take it to the next level. Of all the dishes, the scallops on a bed of mushrooms was the best. With regard to service, the waiter got the order right, but his attitude was all wrong.

This was New Year's Eve in NYC. The reservation was ok, the servie lacked terribly. After first drink, subsequent orders were not relayed correctly, get drinks at the bar. Our server was out for a social work night and really paid little attention to all patrons including us. The Maitre d was on the ball but needed to get more involved in the service delivery. Someone came to ask why I had returned 3 drinks, I answered that none of them was what I ordered. A martini does not come in a tumbler with cubed ice? Beet/goatchees and romaine salads were good, baked clams ok, the tuna was a disaster with kidney shrinking salty miso and zero green to complement. Food is below par for a Hilton.

We had the place to ourselves Friday for lunch...apparently they were running on a skeleton crew for some reason; our waiter was a bartender who apparently was hard of hearing, the food was ok - 2 of us had the Cobb salad, one had Caesar salad which didn't have some of the components listed on the menu (anchovies?). I've been here after work for cocktails and bar food and it's excellent, bustling, and the food and service is great. This was the first time I tried it for lunch so I'm not sure if it's an off day or if it's always that way at lunch.

Located on the 21st floor the Times Square Hilton, this restaurant has proven time and again to pleasantly satisfy the palate! Restaurant is located on same floor as lobby and bar but you'd never know it, somehow remains quiet. Great view of some mid-town buildings, city lights, etc. Service is very accomodating. This time we were 5, usually just 2. Sunday dinner at 6:15 during holiday season, VERY difficult to find anywhere quiet but this was, most people leave the hotel given the location. Food: Beet salad, fresh. Scallop appetizer, fresh. Entrees: Chicken roasted, good. Spaghetti w/ grilled shrimp, v good. Lobster mac n cheese left a little something to be desired (no lobster) really just lobster flavor. Would go again!!

Nice pre-theater spot because it is quiet and has a view. The food is decent, but not stellar. It is hard to find a decent place to have a conversation with friends before a theater event in the Times Square Area. This place is very good for that.

The good: located in the heart of the theater district. Convenient. Lovely high-rise view of the area (including the hand on the Madame Tussaud's roof!) The very good: the presentation of the food was special, little plates of sauces, etc. I had the "chicken hash" benedict (tasty) and my companion had the waffles (basic, but enjoyed the bananas and chocolate sauce and real maple syrup.) The prices were very reasonable for theater district. If I had clients, I wouldn't hesitate to take them to lunch here. Looks like it has a good wine collection as well.

A convenient place to eat before going to theater across the street. Arriving early, we found nobody in attendance at the host's podium, but someone showed up shortly. Service was pleasant, if not particularly professional. The food was quite good, attractively presented, not outstanding. This is in a hotel catering to mid-level tourists, not demanding New Yorkers. You could tell the difference.

We used to go here a lot about 10 years ago. We always enjoyed the food and the service and it was the perfect place to eat before the theater. This time, big disappointment. Service was mediocre and we were largely ignored. The bar menu has more variety for small dishes and appetizers than the resaurant (although you can eat from both menus in the restaurant). We ate only small dishes. The gazpacho (a summer menu item) was good, but the Cesar salad was disappointingly tasteless. The calamari (bar menu) had too many batter pieces at the bottom of the serving bowl and the accompanying aioli tasted like Hellman's. The chili dipping sauce was the best of the 3. The drinks cost the same whether it was top shelf or not--boo!

This is a good reliable standby for work lunches that is close to the office and reasonable. Service is generally pretty good although once in a while it does seem to take a while to get someone's attention or to get our food. If that could be improved, that would be of great help since most people coming here for lunch are trying to get back to work.

Surprisingly Superior food and service. This is a great find for 42d St theatre goers. I had the hanger steak (whatever that means) It was served as requested, plentyful and beefy. My wife that the roast chicken which she said was excellent. A friend had the fish of the day which was fresh and very well prepared. We all had their excellent Caesar Salad for openers.

A terrible experience. The staff is poorly trained, indifferent. The restuarant looks poorly cared for and borders on being dingy. Noone wanted to taker our order, noone greeted us, noone helped us. I leteraly had to get up and find someone to take care of us, give us water, give us tablesettings, and give us the check, Ugh. Food was okay. Everything looked dingy. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I'v eaten here several years ago and found the food okay and the service good and the view pleasant. Something is wrong here. Noon seems to care and there was no motivation to take care of us.
