Phenomenal friendly charismatic service. Excellent food and wine selection.
Greatest dining experience I’ve ever had.
We were celebrating a milestone birthday and Addison was the perfect place to do it. We were very pleased by the lovely setting, the service and the fabulous food. We had the 5-course tasting menu with the wine pairing. It was great.
This is truly a extraordinary restaurant, and it comes at an extraordinary price. So, come and enjoy knowing you are in for a special treat.
We went for my girlfriend's birthday on a week night. Ended up electing the full 10 course option. Everything was delicious. Perfectly paired courses that really opened up our palates to new levels. The hardest thing was to chose the wines. Their wine menu is an extensive and fabulous 100 pages with over 3000 to choose from, by the glass, half-bottle, or full bottle, pending on your needs and broken down by world region. I was impressed to say the least. We were fortunate enough to have some time after work to get there early enough to enjoy the heated outdoor patio to try a couple cocktails before the meal in their lovely lounge before being seated for the long evening. We were there for a few hours enjoying everything. The level of service was the best we have ever had in San Diego by far. The aesthetics of the building to the interior design, even the beautiful gold course and neighborhood on the windy road to drive up, was also all part of the ambience that made our night so memorable. One to put in the books that we will never forget. Expect to pay for that high quality value, but know it will be worth every penny. We will surely be back for another big night to celebrate another special occasion in the future, for sure. My girlfriend told me today even that she has been still dreaming about their cheeses for the rest of the week!
By far one of the most exceptional dining experiences of my life.
Based on how many courses you plan to enjoy, plan accordingly. Our 10-course dinner easily could have easily taken 3.5 hours.
The Addison is an experience that ALL foodies must try at some point in their life.
Super high touch attention to detail and the food was dreamy.
Expensive. Tasty. Mind-blowing.
I’ve been to many restaurants with $400+ per person price tag (including alcohol and tip). This is one of the best.
Honestly, the most impeccable meal timing I’ve seen. We’ve been there for 4 hours, served 10 courses and all of them were spaced perfectly and served at exactly the right time. Many Michelin-rated establishments fail timing. Addison does not.
Every second of this dining experience was superb. The staff was lovely and attentive and the food was amazing. It topped the two Michelin Star restaurants I went to in France. Chef William is wonderful!
The service could not have been better, even a bit overwhelming. They treated us like royalty. However, we found it outrageously expensive. The waiter offered us only two kinds of choices: five course or 10 course but he never mentioned the price of anything nor offered us a written menu so that we could discreetly see for ourselves., nor that the 10 course was double in price. For two of us we came out with a bill of $1200. Even though the dinner was absolutely incredible… That’s just too much money.
We won’t be back.
Very disappointed. We had no idea what we would be eating - it was a 10 course fixed menu, but they did not tell us what we would be eating before we ordered. The courses were very small and mostly bland. The cost of the menu was ridiculously high and the value was very low. Again, very, very disappointed.
Absolutely fantastic
Absolutely amazing - from the service to the courses. Felt like a new world of taste buds were awoken.
Addison is hands down the classiest restaurant in San Diego. This dinner was a gift to my wife for our first Valentine's Day we spent together. She has never felt more special eating anywhere else. She literally dream of the whole experience over again that same night. I have no doubt Addison will leave a lasting impression on anyone. From the food to the staff and the ambiance, Addison is nearly perfect. I only wish I got to see the place during the day time. I'm sure the location is beautiful too.
Phenomenal service and good. Best dining experience we’ve ever had. Kudos to the chef and servers at Addison
It was amazing!
We absolutely love going to Addison. It is such a special treat. The food, the staff, the ambiance.. just the best. Better than French Laundry.
we had the regular 10 tasting menu course. The food was disappointing, though the presentation was interesting enough. every course, there was just too much salt put in there. everything was so salty. the fist, the soup, and the bread, etc. we had to have lots of water to try to balance the overwhelming salt. we also couldn't appreciate the flavor of the sources, which was either bitter or very vinegary. in the end, we skipped the main course. the restaurant offered to charge only one of us for the dinner, but we still felt the whole 3 hour meal was a waste of time and money. on top of that, because we are Asian, one of the servers kept asking us where we were from, where in China, when we got here, and for how long. I'd have felt much better if she would tell us straight her concerns about the corona virus other than asking indirect questions while trying to get her answers. we were also seated at a corner of the restaurant, away from all other guest. not sure if thats due to the same concern. overall, not recommend at all. terrible experience.
Amazing experience. Unmatched service. Should have 3 Michelin stars.
Fantastic from start to finish. Full of ceremony and a welcoming, but decidedly old money feel. Atmosphere was tranquil, very little noise, and just bright enough thanks to the roaring fires in the ornate fireplaces. Staff were incredible...from wine recommendations to the simplest of requests. Food was as you would expect, out of this world. Our only complaint was the pacing of the courses was a bit slow, and the 10 course experience ran a little over 4 hours, even cutting the cheese presentation. Tough for a weeknight 7:30pm start.
Overall, an impeccable experience and highly delightful evening. Will definitely return.
Taste, flavor, cooking technique, plating, quality, service - yes, yes, yes
I'll be telling my friends that like food to come on down
Addison was everything I’d hoped it would be and more. I’ve wanted to experience a Michelin Star restaurant for years and am so glad I chose Addison to check that box. The service was like no other I’d ever experienced. Although the food portions are small, there was so much variety and several portions that I was quite satiated following the 5-course meal option. The only thing that frustrated me was the fact that we ordered a 750 ml bottle of wine but were told they only had the magnum (1.5 L) in stock and tried to up sell that bottle. There were only 2 of us! If we could drink 1.5 L in 3 hours, we’ve got bigger issues to tend to! We opted instead for a glass of wine each and were incredibly disappointed to see the pours were 2 ounces at best! Had we received the 750 ml bottle we ordered, we would have enjoyed a bottle to share all evening. Instead we got a mere 2 ounce pour at insane cost. Therefore we chose to stick with water for the remainder of our meal. I refused to let that ruin our fabulous evening.
What an experience! We were treated very kindly and the food was spectacular. A once a year adventure because the cost is what the cost is. We went for wine pairings, too!
A must try...
Our experience was outstanding. Comparable to the best restaurants in the world. The service is exquisite. The food is inspire and prepared to perfection. The wine list is one of the best in the US. I highly recommend the premium pairings with any tasting menu.
A wonderful experience. The presentation, the food, the service and the ambiance were all first class.
Our visit to Addison this time was for our son's 50th birthday. I made sure they knew that when I made the reservation and they were totally aware when we got there. I also asked if we could do a kitchen tour and was told they couldn't guarantee it, but on this night they were able to do it for us. We met the chef (William Bradley) at our table for the first time and he stayed for a little conversation. He then appeared again to personally prepare our truffle dish. We lastly spoke to him in the kitchen on our little tour. A totally fantastic experience for my wife, son and I. Oh, and the food. As usual, absolutely on top of their game. It seemed to me that it was primarily a seafood evening. We upgraded to have the A5 Wagu as one of our courses and you almost didn't need to chew it was so tender. All of our courses were spot on and the service was impeccable. We did the wine pairing and the Sommelier was fantastic. Since we were picture takers he told us about the Vivino app and once we loaded it, he showed us how to use it. Overall a very special evening made special by a very special staff.
Amazing restaurant. Everything from food to service was perfect. The service was very attentative, the servers are even in touch with your MOOD and could tell whether or not I was happy with something. Would come again, we got the 10-course meal and it was great.
Across the board an outstanding experience that easily justifies the one star Michelin and deserves at least two. More than just French Fare... the menu weaves easily outside of French fare to involve other cultures and very successfully I must add.
Excellent food exceptionally presented.
The service was incredibly attentive and crisp without being stuffy. The staff was very personable and clearly loved their work
A singular dining experience.
Great service and food. Perfect for that special occasion.
New year’s eve at Addison. Very special meal, very innovative dishes expected at a Michelin star restaurant. Comparable to our meal at Single Thread 2 months ago. Great to dine where you can hear your companion at a normal speaking voice. Will return for future special occasions.
Addison is special and we go for celebrations.
We had an incredible experience at Addison. We went for our anniversary and the entire staff was aware and wished us a happy anniversary. The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. Definitely worth a special visit.
Simply superb!!! Actually, superb is an understatement. The decor, the attention to detail, the presentation, the service, and, of course, the dinner was quite unbelievable. We were searching for a restaurant to celebrate a special event, but it had to be something exceptional. Enter the "Addison". It's much more than a 10 course dinner; it's an event, an occasion, an experience, and a phenomenon all in one! Our expectations were vastly exceeded to say the least. Each course was an adventure into a new realm of flavors and taste. We paused between each bite, not just to simply savor the unbelievable, but because our brains forced us to pause to attempt to comprehend what was going on because it had never received such inexpressible input! Our warmest thanks to Nathan, James, Sean, and Stefan as servers, because they truly are special people and specially chosen for their roles in the success of the evening. This is a "must" for anyone who desires fine cuisine and the experience is unparalleled. One thing is for certain; a dinner at the Addison will not be forgotten, ever!
The team at Addison made my daughters 11th birthday one she will remember for the rest of her life. The food, the staff, the chef, and the whole experience were fantastic from start to finish. I have been to Addison many times and I think the experience is consistently improving (which is hard to believe as each time we have been has been fantastic). Props to chef Bradley who is obviously not content with only one Michelin star. Thanks team Addison for a fantastic and memorable meal/experience.
Food was great, and the vibe was nice. Highly recommended.
We were there for the Thanksgiving Day tasting menu and I have to say it was a lovely experience. The manager (I am forgetting his name), was very welcoming and gracious - a perfect host. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It is worth it to go back to see them again.
The food...some beyond delicious - the chou in the starter was really outstanding, the turkey moist and delectable (and the roasted shallot a star), the dessert super. Our feeling was the cold cranberry starter with foam was questionable, as was the next cold course...and the foam kept appearing in a few other dishes, which was lacking creativity - would have liked to have seen other textures in the food. The truffle supp from Alba were passable but not outstanding.
The bill was $2000 for 5 people, no wine, one beer, 4 negronis, a Johnny Walker black, and a Jim Beam.
Amazing service, amazing dining experience. The 10 course tasting was crazy.
Artistic, beautiful, delicious fine cuisine with exceptional service. A very special experience.
Best restaurant in the area
Excellent service, excellent food. Had reservations for our wedding anniversary. We had the 5 course tasting: canapes, Alaskan king crab, artichoke au gratin, caramelized cod, and barbequed pigeon. We also had dessert, le grande finale. Everything looked too good to eat, and tasted even better. What a great dining experience!
