First, we waited 20 min until our server arrived our table . We came to this restaurant because it advertised Toronto’s best octopus. My daughter loves fresh seafood and has had octopus on her travels around the world . The scallop and bacon linguini had next to no bacon . She chose the octopus appetizer ., it was pleasant near the ends, it quickly became tough and cheery after the first 4”. It was disappointing. My main course squid was again somewhat ordinary. Not soft, certainly cheery, and just shy of indigestible . I was not interested in finishing it and atypically for me, I left some on my plate . There was overall too much oil and too much salt used on the vegetables. And, my daughter was sick through the night . She has had octopus and scallops before , so there is no reason to blame an allergy. All in all, it was disappointing . The champagne was wonderful .

First time was last year for a ladies Christmas dinner get together. We chose the pre set menu for it's value and some of the choices were what we would have ordered anyway. We expected the portions to be smaller but got full size orders. The complimentary fresh bread, dipping oil and black olives along with a chef's surprise was a great start to our meal. The service all around was superb.
We had plans with another different girls group this year and one of the girls knew of our experience last year and suggested this restaurant. They loved the evening and I'm sure we will be back again.

We were visiting Toronto for the weekend and decided to try something different.
The server was excellent and very personable. The food was also very good and well presented
although a little on the pricey side.
I think this might be a place to visit for a special occasion as you can certainly spend a lot of money, if you have some wine with dinner.
The only complaint I have is that a large group was seated next to us so it was impossible to have a conversation.
I suggest seating groups elsewhere, perhaps in the back of the establishment.

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here. The service was phenomenal and the food was, somehow, even better. We shared a great, quiet, evening with a lovely bottle of wine recommended by our server. We were even treated to a sample of the most heavenly chouriço I've ever had!

The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable as long as the semi-abstract art doesn't bother you. There was an issue with a light above our table, but the staff quickly mended it when we pointed it out. The washrooms downstairs were well kept as well!

I'd definitely tell anyone on a trip to Toronto to stop by Adega for some incredible Portuguese cuisine.

Had a wonderful experience at Adega. The server was very attentive and everyone was very friendly. The atmosphere was very cozy and relaxed The meal was terrific - we had the the Beef Tenderloin special and the Seafood Stew which were very generous portions despite already feeling full after the amazing appetizers of grilled Calamari and Octopus - we did our best to successfully finish. Highly recommend for a lovely evening out.

The food was delicious.. mostly seafood options for our party of six... server was charming. Restaurant was pretty and cozy . Portions generous. We have lost patience with restaurants which charge $ 45 for one scallop and a smear of pea puree on the plate. Desserts very nice also. Not inexpensive but a very nice dinner for each of us.

Adega delivered a memorable family dinner to warmly celebrate my parents' 40th anniversary. Our usual starters - the olives, octopus appetizer, and croquettes - were consistently pleasing. For entrees, we were enticed by the featured grilled fish and rack of lamb plates, which were all generous and full of flavour. Really appreciated the special touches by the server and pastry chef to acknowledge the special occasion. Overall, service and food were faultless. Looking forward to dining there again. A carafe option for wine would be nice, but will return regardless. Cheers.

We loved this restaurant. It was just what we were looking for and felt lucky we found it. It was cozy and the food was really creative and delicious. My husband has a sea bass (special) and I had trout that were both prepared beautifully. The waiters and bus worked as a team and were always available without being intrusive. I would definitely seek it out again and recommend to friends.

My wife and I had dinner at Adega last Saturday night. Our meal was very good, straightforward, well prepared and well presented. The cod, squid and shellfish were fresh and perfectly cooked. The wine list focuses on Portuguese wines and by Toronto standards very reasonably priced. The ambience is relaxed, friendly and not the least bit trendy. It is a great place for a couple of seniors to enjoy each other’s company over a delicious meal.

I had been to Adega in the past and had a better experience. While the bread and olives were up to par I found the mussels appetizer bland. I had the arctic char special which I found to be overly oily. The veggies and potatoes were well done.

I read the reviews and was excited to go! I was not disappointed! Bloody Outstanding!! Our waiter was knowledgeable, when I asked where the wine and food was sourced, He had the answer. From Portugal by the way. The food was mouthwatering. We are foodies and we travel alot. I am a very good cook, so i'm very picky. Personally, I can't wait to go back. The waiter recommended the Grilled Octopus (it was the evenings special) it was incredible!

Pleasant place and excellent service plus you’re welcomed with delicious bread and oil and a bowl of black olives After ordering they send a comp app However I was disappointed with their signature dish Fish Stew. It comes in a big casserole but although the menu lists many components it is mostly lots of salmon and squid. Shrimp was listed as an ingredient but it was left out of my dish They did comp me with some biscotti to apologize but I looked forward to the shrimp and more varieties of fish. Other than that it was a nice dinner and I might try again but order something else.
