AG at The Sterling Ratings and Reviews
Service was impeccable. Our servers were professional, courteous and gave us wonderful recommendations.
We dined on a Thursday and took part on the “date night” special. We selected the half hen and upgraded to the tenderloin.
Both appetizers were exquisite, food was hot and full of flavour. We had the Bavarian cream for dessert and it was just the right finishing touch to our comforting meal.
Kelly and Erika (our apologies if I have misspelled your names) were so wonderful.
We were there in the off-season in November, and while a bit chilly and windy outside, it set a lovely atmosphere in the warm and cozy restaurant.
During a visit to Niagara Falls we were looking for a good dinner that was off the tourist track. We were lucky to have found AG Inspired. The food was delicious. Presentation great and our server incredible.
AG is one of favorites in Niagara.
Second year going for a special occasion and was even more satisfied. The food, service and ambiance is a welcomed experience in Niagara.
Wonderful creatively presented farm to table food. Beef was exceptional.
Keller our server was amazing and catered to our every whim
As always we enjoyed ourselves immensely at AG. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable.
Awesome atmosphere and interesting concept (owns their own farm, produce picked daily, local ingredients when not grown themselves).
Some taste combinations were unusual, overall great experience.
Ordered Risotto which was suppose to have sirloin beef tips in it. The risotto was tasty but the beef in it was inedible, pure grizzle. I think they put scraps in, informed waitress but kitchen said that it was the end of the beef so that is what you get. Very disappointed.
Absolutely Amazing! Love the Fresh produce from their own farm. Incredible Flavours! Love the live singer. BEST Nigroni I ever had! Will definitely be going back more often. REAL FIND!
This place never disappoints. Great food and impeccable service! Can’t wait for our next visit there.
I have had excellent meals in some of the best foodie cities in the world. We hunt down amazing dives frequently and treat ourselves to special restaurants a few times a year. I have not had such an excellent dining experience in quite some time. It's pretty amazing to take a bite of something and just stop and say "wow". I did that 3 times during this meal. From local ingredients, to wonderful service and a lovely atmosphere, AG is the whole experience.
An ambitious menu that doesn't quite hit the mark.
Salmon was not fresh, very oily and strong fish smell
My sisters and I brought my Mom (who lives in Oregon) to Niagara Falls to celebrate her 70th birthday. I chose this restaurant for quality of food, farm-to-table approach, and ambiance based on its excellent reviews (we chose another restaurant on our second evening in town for views of the Falls, which this restaurant does not have, being in a basement of a somewhat out-of-the-way hotel). The experience including food and service did not disappoint. Our table was tucked away, and though we could see other diners we could not hear them. The seating and atmosphere was very cozy. We started the meal with handcrafted cocktails from an offering of options that were mostly very sweet, but our choices (AG's version of an Old Fashioned and a Cosmo) were good. For starters, three of us had the tender leaf salad with the most amazing goat cheese I've ever had, and one person had the tomato bisque, which was peppery, flavored with bacon (?) and delicious. Our entrees were the scallops, beef tips risotto and the filet, with the filet being my favorite. All were very good. The sommelier, whom we called to our table for suggestions, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about local wines -- highly recommend asking for his advice (cannot remember his name - sorry!). All of us had dessert, I ordered the white chocolate creme bruleee and did NOT share. It was delicious. All in all, we were delighted with the meal, and my Mom was one happy lady. Highly recommend.
Anniversary. Great atmosphere, good food, great desserts
Excellent food and service.
You're asked if you're coming for a special occasion when you make a reservation, which in my case was a birthday. Yet when you're there, the is no acknowledgement of the fact. Even after stating it, it's still not acknowledged... what's the point?
Wow. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. One of the best restaurants we have ever been to. Definitely a must in Niagara Falls.
This was one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! Everything was absolutely wonderful. The food was so delicious and the service was excellent! I can not stress enough how great the food was. And it was very fairly priced, especially for being in Niagara Falls where most restaurants are severely overpriced. This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem! A must try if visiting the falls!
I agree with other reviewers that the location of this restaurant is a bit suspect - located in the lower level of a very unassuming small hotel. But once beyond that vibe, it was a very pleasant experience with professional service and fantastic food. It really is about the food! The BLT bisque and lunchbox peppers were both great appetizers that we shared. Our four entrees were the lamb, heirloom tomato and fennel risotto (ultimate foodie comfort food), the scallops and the beef tenderloin. All were excellent entrees. While we didn't think we had enough room for dessert, we managed to demolish a seasonal one with crème and caramel that was a bit uninspired, but the gelato was to die for. Order the gelato!
Everything was wonderful staff was amazing and knowledgeable. Food very tasty and fresh
Exceptional meal. Recommend reviewing the menu and be prepared to be amazed. One of the best meals I’ve had and I eat out at everything from Spago to Mori Motto to Mesa grill. You will love this place if you really love food.
Wonderful experience with amazing food and live music. We had two appetizers and two entrees along with 1 dessert and 1 after dinner drink. Also, enjoyed a meal pairing drink bill was only $170 tip not included. If you're looking for a romantic night out this is the place.
Truly excellent food and service. Attractive room with nice ambiance. A great place for fine dining without stuffiness, just friendly professionals.
My wife and I visited AG with another couple. This restaurant is top notch! The waitress was very helpful in describing and offering opinions about the entrees. Service was impeccable, the right balance between availability and unobtrusiveness. All four entrees were outstanding and the menu was diverse. If I lived in the area, this restaurant would be a regular treat!
Fantastic...A real pleasure the staff is the best the food, the plating, the wine parings are as good as it gets anywhere...
Great place. The duck was delicious but the salmon a little bit salty.
What a restaurant! From the minute you walk in to the moment you leave you feel like a million bucks. The staff there is amazing! Kelly was our server for the entire evening. Knows her wines and what goes with what.
Farm to table restaurant....I've got to say top three best meals I've ever had.
Cory the Executive Chef stopped by a couple times to check on us. Nice touch.
Looking for a romantic, quiet place...with awesome food and service? This is it.
Excellent well prepared dishes. Nice local wine list. Great meal.
Expected elegant dining. Was seated across from some bozo wearing a filthy
baseball cap who was appallingly dressed and spent the entire dinner playing with
his iphone. How about some required attire for elegant dining?
Celebrated an anniversary.
Staff was very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu choices.
Husband ordered the beef, one of the best cuts of meat I have ever tried. Cooked to perfection, soft, cut like butter. I ordered the scallops, which was tasty. The only downside was the broccoli side was very much burnt and the occasional bite of scallop was sandy.
The food quantity plated was just right for me. If your looking for a generous playing of food you may be disappointed.
Piano player was a great touch to the evening. Menu prices were fair for a nice meal.
All in all great experience, different from some of the other restaurants we've been to.
Service, Ambience, Food always reliable and well presented. Would return again as we have in the past. Since from reservation we made it known it was our 28th Wedding Anniversary - it would have been a nice gesture to have offered us a complimentary drink or a dessert ,
All confections: perfections.
This is my favourite place to eat! Every time we have come here for dinner it has been nothing but fantastic. The presentation of the food and the flavours are second to none. I have eaten at the best restaurants in Toronto for double the price and they don't hold a candle to this place. Love the way the menu changes four times a year with the seasons. The service is always friendly and very attentive. Cozy and romantic interior, great for special occasions. A must do when coming to Niagara Falls.
Creative menu and well executed with fresh ingredients. AG could have been a real delight, but the kitchen was just too slow. Our server, Michelle, was attentive and did her best, but after two hours we were tired of it all and skipped our dessert, which still hadn't arrived. Not even an attempt at an apology from an indifferent restaurant manager. By the way, this was not at all a busy might. Also, the underground environment was quiet and comfortable and may appeal to some, but we found it bit less than cheerful. A great chef with a great idea, but unfortunately lost in translation.
This is by far the best restaurant we have been too. It's definitely pricey but the food is well worth it. You never know what combinations will be on the menu, but they're always great!
Nice drinks, good food and helpful service. We enjoyed our complimentary cocktails and snacks while staying at The Sterling as well.
Fantastic bday dinner ! Thank you Brianna for your recommendations . Kudos for the great service
Was in Niagra for 5 days and tried many of the top rated restaurants including AG....AG was probably the overall best meal of the week with some good competition. Excellent fresh food served in some interesting combinations with excellent presentation. I saw some reviews about the service being off, but that was not our experience. Overall, being from NYC, I would give it a solid 4 for service it could easily get a 5 if they'd start implementing just a few minor service details. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and preparations and was friendly and courteous while still being very formal and polite. The scene lacks the amazing falls views that many of the high end restaurants have but it makes up for it with a classy retro/modern vibe and excellent food. The menu could use a little expansion but overall offered some great choices. The prices, while not cheap, are probably a slight value compared to a lot of the competition. Overall, it's a winner in my book.
Our 50th anniversary dinner at AG met our high expectations. The wait staff were attentive and provided each course in a timely manner. Dim lighting and tables spaced a comfortable distance apart provided an ambience for conversation. As we had enjoyed seafood in Nova Scotia the week prior to our Saturday night dinner, we both opted for the signature beef entrée. Neither of us was disappointed. Each of us had a different appetizer...both with fresh ingredients and expertly prepared. Delicious!!! The accoutrements of fine dining were evident throughout the evening.
