We didn’t expect to love this place as much as we did, incredible flavour combinations, shout out the chefs, mans a visionary, they really know how to create unique and diverse dishes with eccentric flavour profiles that compliment each other beautifully. Definitely bang for your buck, 60$ for your choice of app main and dessert, highly recommend the duck and the lamb dishes, they were absolutely incredible. Taste the food for yourself and you will know that the man in the back knows what he’s f’n doing. 10/10 all day every day. I actually almost started crying when I tried the duck leg, it was beautiful, it actually made me emotional, I didn’t even wanna swallow. Service 10/10 never had to look back or wave a finger, they explain your dish to you and all staff was really knowledgeable about the menu! Also portions were perfect size, I eat a lot and i was full by the end of it, not overly full but just enough to feel completely satisfied! Chef if you read this then all I have to say is hats off to you, open a restaurant in Toronto pls!!!
Amazing food for a reasonable price. The appetizer I got was the Ag kale salad and the whole dish was vigorously thought out every combination of ingredients brought a new experience to the dish. The main course was the duck which had great flavours and the garnishes complimented the duck perfectly. Even the cherry which had a sweet initial burst but then the full flavour of the duck sunk into your mouth. The creme brûlée has a perfect custard and if there was no hint of rosemary you wouldn’t even feel it in your mouth. Even something as simple as the cookie beside it shocks you from the taste and texture. Even the service was as good as the meal, the courses are well planned out. Immediately after a course was finished the next one was on its way to us. The waiter explained what everything was on the dish. Fantastic restaurant.
Always amazing. Will be back soon. Loved the ambience and the great food and service.
Food terrific but wine list lacking. Need to add some French and Italian choices. I get farm to table but no champagne? Good thing the cognac was not domesticated.
Very disappointing food quality with
Food was good but rediculosly overpriced. The portions were minuscule. Ie the salad had barely a handful of leaves the lamb had a contradiction of flavors that overpowered the meat. The tenderloin was good, again the flavors were too much. The soup spicy but cannot taste the carrots. More work is needed to balance all this and price needs to be evaluated
The food was amazing. Great tasting and the portions are large. Our server Kelli was very knowledge about the cuisine and local wine. Excellent service. We will return based on her service alone. The staff go "above and beyond" at this restaurant.
Ambience is great. Food was very good but a bit salty for my taste; not quite as good as it has been on the other occasions I've eaten there. However, I will definitely go back for another try the next time in town as AG has been consistently one of the best kept foodie secrets of Niagara Falls, ON and is still one of my favorite restaurants, anywhere.
Food was wonderful but the drinks from the bar were terrible. They were watered down and who puts ice cubes in a cosmo??
Great service and wait staff.
Top quality ingredients prepared perfectly.
Fair pricing in Niagara and a step away from the tourist traps.
As usual, AG Did not disappoint. We were celebrating a 75th birthday and they started our evening off with complimentary sparkling wine. Next was the amuse Bouche which is always a treat from the chef. Our drinks, bread, appetizers, dinner and dessert were all excellent! The service was fabulous. A Must dine if you are in Niagara Falls!
reserved for a family weekend dinner. loved the food, ambiance and freshness of thr food. the entrance could be made better but for a couple I am sure it is piece of cake.
The Best dining experience we have ever had when travelling in North America. The service was fantastic and the food was extraordinary. The restaurant is really nice with dimmed light and it is great for romantic occasions.
Difficult to find but worth it. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his beef tenderloin. My gluten free option were limited, mains and desserts. I had the steak fritz. Too much salt on the fritz overwhelmed my dish. I did not finish it. I would recommend if you are not eating gluten free.
Excellent food! Ok service.
One person was our host, server, and bartender. While he initially appeared to do his best, he was unable to give us the attention needed as our server.
My wife and I had an exceptional experience at AG for our 29th anniversary. The food, service and ambiance were great. I would HIGHLY recommend the restaurant.
It was our anniversary and they knew it but they never recognized it. They sat us in a corner table above the stairs. Staff were all men....which is okay but they were a bit weird.
This place is awesome! The food is fantastic as well as the presentation. I always have dinner here when I’m in Niagara.
The food was incredible, we decided to eat here because the reviews were so good and this place did not disappoint at all. I highly recommend eating here when in the area.
Although our food was really good.....eating in a basement of an old made over hotel takes away from the experience. The area seemed a little sketchy to someone from out of town. Would have loved to take a stroll often our dinner but really....we were afraid to! I would recommend a ‘fresh’ new location to really show off your local fair and the very unique dishes.
The wait staff was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was excellent. Everything was prepared perfectly and presentation was beautiful. The appropriate amount of time was given between all the courses, so we did not feel as though we were rushed.
A complimentary dessert for our anniversary was a nice touch. We would recommend the AG at the Sterling to anyone.
Excellent in all respects. Romantic and not touristy. Serious dinner with no view but elegant atmosphere.
Wonderful food and attentive service. Really appreciated their attention to accommodating our allergies.
When we tried to call to make a reservation, the reception seemed a bit confused about their availability...saying they only had a table at 9pm. We ended up going online and found a table for 8:30pm. However, when we arrived the restaurant definitely looked nearly empty.
Overall, the food was really delicious. I would highly recommend it. It is a genuine farm-to-table experience, and the quality of the ingredients can be tasted. It is a hidden gem.
Our dining experience was nice. However, even when we asked for the AC to be turned down, the party room we were at was extremely cold. One of our guests had allergies, we informed our server after we placed our order (that was clearly our mistake), and he assured us that the food we ordered would not contain any of the ingredients that our guest would be allergic to.
The chef sent out complimentary amuse bouche, we enjoyed that generous gesture of hospitality. However, much to our chagrin the server notified us AFTER we had already eaten the amuse bouche that it contained a small trace of one of the ingredients our guest is allergic to. Luckily, no allergic reaction ensued.
When ordering our food, we turned to our server for recommendations on the wine. We were hoping for guidance or pairing recommendations but it seemed that our server was not able to provide us with that. For the price and the upscale atmosphere of this restaurant, I would assume that the servers would be knowledgeable and fluent in all aspects of the menu.
We also noticed one of our knives had a spot left over from not being cleaned properly. When we ordered a bottle of ice wine for dessert, our server didn't realize they actually didn't have the wine we ordered. It wasn't anything major but it did detract from the experience. If they want to be completely immersive with the upscale restaurant, I think they need to spend a bit more effort in paying attention to the detail.
We were a party of four and everyone was blown away by the food and service. We each tried different dishes and all were excellent. The chef creates wonderful presentations with unique local ingredients. AG is serious about food—this restaurant could compete with some of the finest in the world. Outstanding!
The dining room is hidden in the basement of the Sterling Hotel—don’t let that dissuade you. This is a dining experience not to miss when in Niagara Falls. We also felt that the price (US $85 including tax and tip) was reasonable. We had a round of cocktails, three courses, and wine.
We reserved table from this place and asked if they’re still offering the Sunday special as it says on the website. We arrived there and no one greeted us to the entrance. Have to wait for the server and even raise my hand for them to come to me. Then we just know on the spot they don’t have the Sunday special anymore- only reason why we’re eating here. So we had to order ala carte. Food and service were on point. Delicious food and the servers are explaining the food well with very professional attitude. Had some sparkling wine as complements.
Absolutely excellent meal one of our best ever and we are well traveled. Excellent service and not rushed at all. Seasonal farm to table meal so I can state that we had the most unique escargot appetizer ever and my husband had to duck 2 ways and I had the beef tenderloin the house specialty and rosemary creme brulee for dessert all of which may not be on the menu when you may decide to dine at AG since seasonal menu. Please try this restaurant if you are at Niagara Falls Canadian side and I think you will enjoy a phenomenal meal.
We had a wonderful anniversary at Ag and will recommend often . The entire evening was a delight!
Birthday dinner...fabulous, fresh creative food! Level of food quality and service (incredible!) did not match the atmosphere which was just ok. Farm to table dining seems to call for a more hip, modern atmosphere, not a dark basement with dated decor. But once again...food was top shelf!
It is one of the best dinners you can have in Niagara for sure!
This was our second visit. We love the atmosphere, the menu, and the staff. I love how they explain every dish they serve.
Wow, wow, and wow!! What a wonderful dining experience this was. Did a little online research on where to dine while vacationing in Niagara Falls after a couple of other poor dining experiences at other restaurants during our stay. This has to have been one of my all time favorite meals and experience ever. I live in the Washington, DC area where we’ve had many amazing meals. AG was the highlight of our vacation. Looking forward to a return visit next year for sure.
Very modern and posh! This place was amazing and while the food and service were paramount the $ bill was insane! This is an experience like no other and you will for sure pay for it.
Great restaurant with fabulous food and service
The live music sat night was also very good
The best restaurant in the falls now has one of the best deals in the falls. The steak frites special on Sunday night was fantastic, one of the best we've ever had. Everything we had from start to finish, even the bread, was incredible. Service was great too, can't want to get back.
Absolutely loved AG!! Food was outstanding and so was the service.
Food and service was immaculate. It was our wedding anniversary and we were provided complementary glasses of wine and a treat from the chef.
Fantastic restaurant! This was a great restaurant and was really something special. A nice special occasion restaurant or just a nice night out
My date and I enjoyed dinner at the AG at The Sterling on April 22, 2018. My comments are as follows. Many of us have to drive after dinner and having a bottle of wine for two people may represent a larger quantity than is safe for driving. Perhaps your wine choices by the glass should be greater than three whites and three reds even if the wines do come from local Niagara wineries. I had the duck entrée and the duck portion was very large and could have been smaller. Some vegetables and potato or rice or pasta to accompany the duck would have been nice. The chef prepared a vegetarian dish by my request for my date. A vegetarian choice or two on the menu would have been appreciated. We enjoyed our meal.
Lovely dinner! We really enjoyed the date night set menu! Beautiful presentation and lovely flavours.
