Yummy carbonara. Patient and attentive server. Washrooms badly in need of a renovation. Ambiance is dated.
Great food and service.... definitely visit.
Always love this place. Good food and very good service. Willing to accommodate small to large parties.
Great food and lovely Italian restaurant. Service was a little slow to start, but picked up after ordering. Would definitely recommend this place to friends.
This was a huge hit for our family (2 adults 2 kids). The service was VERY friendly. The food was way above our expectations. We would recommend and come back in a heartbeat!
We had a fantastic dinner and amazing service from John. We will definitely be returning.
Excellent spot for a good meal with friends and family.
A perfect experience for an Italian dinner date 👌🏻
The reason that I booked at Al Porto was due to the picture I saw on the website of the dining room overlooking Canada Place. When I booked online, I made a special request to have a window seat so that my husband and I could see THAT view. Then I phoned the restaurant to ensure my request could be fulfilled, and I was told it would. I was VERY disappointed to see that the picture on the website did not even closely represent the actual situation. The dining room was a picture of the restaurant downstairs, and the view was from upstairs where the restaurant didn't even remotely resemble the photo. It was much more casual setting with no tablecloths even on the table. The photo on the website is misleading and a down right lie! The evening did not turn out the way I was expecting and that was disappointing. For this reason I will never return to this restaurant.
Great service thank you. John.
Casual Italian, good for large groups and families.
Been coming here for years and it is consistently very good in all aspects. Would never miss a meal here while in Vancouver
The service was wonderful and the food tasty! What more can you ask for. The place was very pretty.
Great pizza! Staff really looked after us
Underwhelming. Food was bland. Service was great but did not make up for the fact the the food is o er prices for the quality.
Our Waiter was Outstanding!!! We had an excellent meal.
Poor bar service
Our Calamari was so salty not edible. The meal I wanted and planned ahead by looking at the menu on-line was not available. Ordered Pesto and cheese cannelloni instead that was extremely rich and heavy but virtually flavourless. The Pesto was just a smidge in the center of 4 Cannelloni. Service was adequate but nothing special. Definitely found the menu pricey and the food quality did not measure up to the price. Would we go back. NO Would we recommend it. NO
The four of us each ordered different choices for our main, and we started with two appetizers for the table,. All were nicely presented and very tasty.
The only disturbing feature of the evening, was a waiter who felt he was doing us a favor in taking our order and not available to allow us to get a second bottle of wine. When he finally appeared it was to check - if we might want dessert or coffee.
Next time if he is still with you, we will definitely ask for another server, as we pay the bill NOT him
Best food we had in Vancouver by a country mile. What more could you want from a restaurant, good food, good service and a nice atmosphere. The waiter also chased after me in Water Street when I left my camera on the back of my seat! Great honesty too.
The service is always good as is the quality of the food.
Our only complaint on this visit was the volume of the music. It was way too loud and also unnecessary.
Good service, environment
Great food and amazing service!
The service was excellent and the food was delicious! The ambiance was pleasing!
Steady long-term success restaurant. We made it a day for a 6-1/2 hour lunch. No one rushed us.
Wonderful restaurant with delicious food and great service!
We loved our dinner at Al Porto. Tge service and food was fabulous. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a good quiet family dinner. Love the atmosphere, feel like we were in Italy. Lasagna and seafood pasta were delicious. Fabio, our server, was attentive and humorous.
Amazing dinner in gastown... Everything was exceptional.
I made this reservation for my friends birthday. It was the perfect restaurant for us with good food, an extensive wine list and our waiter was very personable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Everything was very tasty and good. Certainly going there more often
We met friends who have dined in Vancouver many times. We just loved the location which is off the beaten track in Gastown. The food and service were excellent. We will definitely go there again
We were a party of 4 adults celebrating a birthday and we loved Al Porto, the dining rooms are beautiful, the food is very, very good, and the service is excellent. What a find!
We were party of 8 and made reservations but came in earlier. Our table was ready, the food was excellent, waiter was very polite and knowledgeable about dishes. We truly enjoyed our dinner and especially the service.
Excellent restaurant. Amazing food and service. Best Italian dishes.
There were 7 of us for dinner on a quiet Monday evening for a family celebration. The service was top notch, the food was fabulous. They were able to accommodate my dietary requirements. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
This restaurant is located a little off the beaten path in Gastown The food is really good but a little expensive I visited twice in my week in Vancouver Not real busy and fairly plain atmosphere but well worth a visit I had Veal Marsala and Veal Lasagna and both were great My husband had spaghetti which was also good The Ceasar salads were also good
Awesome home style Italian cooking at its very best!
My daughter and I went for Mother’s Day early dinner. We booked our reservation for 4:30 so we could have an early, quiet night as we had a long drive home. The restaurant was completely empty except for 1 table with 1 guy sitting there and we were sat 2 tables away from him. After a few minutes , a large party of 8 came in and they were sat RIGHT next to us! The restaurant is huge and it was completely empty and now this boisterous table was inches away, and we could barely hear ourselves speak! If that was their only big table at that time, our small party of two could have been seated somewhere else. There were 2 waiters on so it wasn’t a matter of lack of staff.
The food was amazing and service was great but unfortunately we ate quickly and left as we couldn’t stand the noise .
