    The four of us had halibut and it was EXCEPTIONAL. Loved the shrimp appetizer too! It is always a treat to see Bjorn, Bonnie, and Kelly. After all these decades it feels like visits with family.

    The dinner at Alexander’s was absolutely first class. Nice menu with good options for everyone. The food was delicious and also very nicely presented. Service was professional and attentive. Not cheap, but probably the best restaurant in the NRV.

    Had business meal here and everyone loved their meal. This is impressive as three of four guest were from out of town and from foodie cities. Needless to say they said this is where they were going next time they were in town. Well done.

    First time but it won’t be the last time. We went for our anniversary dinner. We were seated straight away in a cozy romantic corner. The ambience was sophisticated New Orleans. The service was professional but not stuffy and the food was exquisite.

    lovely, classy spot. menu somewhat limited but covers the bases. I had shrimp with creole sauce; she had the filet. former excellent; latter good. one gets a very nice salad with ones entree! only miscue — waiter didn’t come around after entrees were served to ask how was everything, so we had to flag-down another for a couple of minor needs. (yes, a small point, but in a perfect dinner it’s what one remembers in part!).

    I have visited more than 50 countries and have eaten at many excellent restaurants. That said, Alexander's is my all-time favorite restaurant and for many reasons. The food is always excellent and the ambience is delightful. The fact that many of the wait staff have been serving at Alexander's for two or more decades sends a strong signal it is a good place to work. I highly recommend this establishment.

    As usual, Alexander's continues to do great with food and service. The restaurant has beautiful "old building" vibes, which causes a little increase in noise level. However, the noise level was never a problem with our meal and personal interaction. Food wise, the meal was the usual high quality. My wife would have liked a little more lamb in her ragu, but the flavor was perfect. Alexander' continues to be one of if not our favorite upscale restaurant in Roanoke.

    This was our first time to eat at Alexander’s. We had heard many things about it and were looking forward to our dinner. The food was great, service marginal and no real atmosphere. It was a birthday meal and when I asked if they did anything for birthdays it was a very abrupt “full disclosure - NO”. We will not be returning again.

    First time here; loved the ambiance. Service was good; waiter very knowledgeable of the menu. The entrees were outstanding; the lamb steak, and the best halibut my wife ever had. I would have given the food 5 stars, but the tiramisu was bland. The martinis were on the money. Definitely, will be back.
