   Great food, tardy service, waaaaaaaaay too loud to have a conversation without shouting. Shouldn’t have to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up at the table. I had to walk to the back of the restaurant to hunt our server down to pay the bill. He just disappeared.

   As always, the meals were delicious! Especially the tempura shrimp and the pork strip loin. Unfortunately the service last night was awful. We had to ask twice for water. He said that hummus and olives were coming so we wouldn’t want appetizers, but we did and seemed put out when we ordered them. When asked if we had dietary restrictions we indicated that my partner couldn’t have any dark green vegetables, and he responded that if there was any broccoli, they would sub it out specifically. After almost an hour and a half, he took our dinner order and then half an hour later it came with broccolini. We asked for wine pairings and he also seemed bothered by that. He never came back until it was time to clear out plates and never acknowledged that the broccolini was left on the plate. We were celebrating and brought our own champagne and offered him a glass and he seemed bothered to have to even open it for us, even though they charge corkage. The manager seemed to know there were issues, but never checked in with us and seemed to only be interested in the wine we brought than the experience we were having.

   First unfortunate experience at Alloy. The scallops were extremely salty and mushy. The truffle gnocchi portion size appeared way smaller than what I remember. The beef short rib was dry and no sauce to compliment it, and my friend got the salmon - she is super sick today from it. We were there for a 30th birthday and no dessert was offered. We did tell them that the scallops were too salty and those were thankfully removed from the bill. After the response I got about the scallops, I felt scared to bring up the dry short rib.

   Wonderful experience. We got a primo table location when I mentioned it was a birthday celebration in my booking. Food was divine, could not get enough. Amazing service and ambiance. Perfect spot for a date.

    Lunch and cocktail menus were lovely, many options. Our server was very anti social, no recommendations given, no interraction. She was very dead pan and looked bored or bothered. I was extremely disappointed in her attitude. The host however was very welcoming. My meal was lukewarm ( i had the snapper, my fish was cold) i do love this venue but was disappointed.

    We chose this restaurant to celebrate our daughters graduation from post secondary. We were a party of 7 and found that our server was attentive and efficient. Our drinks were always full and she was available for anything extra we needed. The venue is beautiful with a modern esthetic that also felt warm and inviting. The food was fantastic, some of us had the steak and others had the roasted chicken. Everyone was pleased with what they ordered and there were no leftovers. I highly recommend this restaurant for a celebration or an intimate date night. We will be back!

    This space is unbelievable. The dreamlike lighting, the 3/4 circle bench seating and inviting openess to the dining room made me want to love this place. But then the food....oh boy. So 2 stars for the food is a measure against other places charging similar prices for similar dishes. And without the mushroom gnocchi, which was solid, it would be a .5 star. The Duck was a complete mess. I don't know how it got to our table. We had the choice of doneness and picked medium rare. For anyone who has ever cooked duck before, getting the skin right is challenging, especially so while having the meat still be med-rare. But this is why you pay someone 44 dollars - to get it right. When we were served steak knives I thought to myself: what is this for? I soon found out it was to saw through a tough breast and flabby non broken down fat from the skin that had only a hint of crisp. The parsnip chips and puree were a guitar and bass trying to play with drums (the duck) but in a different time signature. The kale was good but also didn't fit the dish. The other thing we had was beef taretare. I mean it was....fine? With the exception that the taretare itself was under seasoned and lacked stuff that puts taretare over the top like an egg yolk, shallots or chives. Right before we ate, I swung buy Brant lake Waygu (which is literally down the street) and grabbed a gorgeous chunk of Waygu. I considered bringing it in and making Waygu taretare to show them the quality THEY should expect in order to serve this fantastic space they occupy. To the owners/head chef: go to Carino or Cassis Bistro and order their duck. Then have your kitchen make it not knowing who it's being made for - like on a friday at 530pm for some rando and compare. I WANT to love this place.

    Celebrating birthday and catching up with a dear friend over some remarkable food surrounded by the hum of others enjoying themselves as well. We started with the Tomato Salad, Truffle Gnocchi & Prawns. Our mains were Chicken, Salmon, Lamb all tender and cooked to perfection. Each dish was enhanced by flavorful accompaniments. For dessert we tried one of each selection. The cake was moist and light, pudding was decadent with cherries and crushed sponge toffee (BRILLIANT) on top and the cheese cake was a treat. Our server was delightful and entertaining. It’s been a while between our visits. Will be changing that

    This is our third time at this restaurant. We typically go for our birthdays or date night. Looking forward to the summer months as we have not explored the outdoor space. I would definitely get married at this venue. It checks all the boxes. Favourite dishes are the scallops, chicken, braised short ribs. I didn’t care for the steak or salmon when I tried it. There are amazing starters you could almost just go here for that alone! Service and attention to details are a plus. Beautiful space I would recommend asking for the clam shell tables or the seats along the window / patio door wall. This is a must hidden in an industrial area, you may even miss it if it’s your first time but close enough to Chinook to try!! Hilary & Jeff

    Our server was top notch. My wife and I celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary here and he elevated and surpassed all expectations. The tasting menu was meticulously planned, plated, and executed. Everything was vibrant, hot, seasoned to perfection and beautifully presented. It wasn't dining it was an experience. My only comment would be that they would benefit from elevating their beer offerings with some Belgian beers for those who don't do wine or cocktails. David was a seasoned pro when it came to pairing the wines and his knowledge, passion and ability to explain the food and wine interactions were incredible. I would highly recommend.

    I have been coming here for years. The food is always excellent and the service is top notch. I brought a friend of mine here for this lunch as she had never tried it and now I know they will have another customer who will keep coming back! I just wish they would update the decor at some point.

    Ordered the beef sandwich which was in a hamburger bun ?? And without much meat in it. What meat was in there was a small portion and dried out. The pasta dishes ordered were very small portions .
