Please join second-year students in the International and American Cuisine class, under the direction of a Certified Master Chef, as they prepare International favorites. Themes change weekly and include American, European, Latin & South American, and Asian.
Reservations are highly recommended for lunch and dinner.
I went to American Harvest with a friend as a celebration of both of our birthdays. We had a little wait, but were shown to a nicely prepared table. Our server was a very nice young woman but she was a little unorganized. We had to wait for everything. It was delicious when we got it and the serving size was just right. But it was not as delightful as the other two times we were there.
Friends getting together at American Harvest because we love the entree selections and top notch desserts' looks and taste. I love to bring my family and also meet friends as no one is ever disappointed. The training program has to be the best in the U. S. as the meals are so original and perfectly displayed.
I will continue to avail myself to the best restaurant experience.

Great food, service and ambience for this Culinary program. Pricing is very reasonable and make you save room for dessert!
The service is outstanding as was the food. Would have liked an entree salad on menu but enjoyed what I ordered.
My 15 year old son could not keep his eyes off the desert selection but did try many different dishes before he dove in to the deserts. What a great way to introduce him to many different dishes. He loved the swordfish!

WE HAVE BEEN LONG TIME FANS OF THIS RESTAURANT BUT THIS TIME THE FOOD WAS POOR AND THE SERVICE WORSE. WE CANCELLED 4 OTHER RESERVATIONS WE HAD MADE.

On our first visit to American Harvest Restaurant we had a dinner reservation for a Friday evening, and when we arrived we were informed that on Thursday and Friday they only offer a dinner buffet. The menu theme that evening was Caribbean and South American recipes and that worked for us because we were able to try several different appetizers and entrees that were all very good. Our favorite was a sauteed jumbo shrimp and monkfish in a light brown sauce ... Outstanding . We tried several different offerings and ate so much food that we decided to take our dessert home with us. My only critical comment would be for me the food was a little under seasoned. For me Caribbean foods and South American foods are usually pretty spicy, or heavily seasoned, but these dishes were very mild in their seasoning. Seating is in the equivalent of a school cafeteria so there really is no Ambiance or atmosphere to speak of, its plastic tables and plastic chairs. The culinary students that cook the food and serve the food we're all wonderful to speak to and I enjoyed discussing the creation of some of the dishes with them. As an example I had never seen a butterflied, stuffed and rolled flank steak. It was expertly prepared and a treat to enjoy.
We look forward to our next visit to American Harvest Restaurant. Special things to our host, Margaret, who was most gracious to us.
What an awesome gem we have here in Livonia! Bravo Schoolcraft College - Vista Tech Center for your contribution to EXCELLENT food / service. The students in culinary school are the servers, chefs, etc. Worthy of a 'look-see' by those who appreciate excellent fare.

Love American Harvest. I have been going for 3 years and never been disappointed.
We were so impressed with the creativity , the selection of foods, and the vegetarian options. The waiters were lovely and so friendly as was the hostess. Our only suggestion would be to put up names of the deserts and ingredients on deserts.

I enjoyed lunch this week, the staff were very dedicated to ensuring a great experience for guests. The food was delicious, and the portions were filling. Overall, a great way to experience new cuisine options offered by up and coming chefs. Thanks, and I will be back.
We truly enjoyed our dining experience. We only wished we found it sooner. (Completely booked for rest of year). In the future I would appreciate it if deserts had labels and I knew which items contained pork:).
This restaurant is amazing! The staff is top notch. We went on Mediterranean night. They had a varied selection of food which was farm fresh. We will be return customers very soon.

Very clean; the food was well prepared and well plated (presentation). We had the Pork Schnitzel and it was delicious; pounded thin, light breading and very tender. Everything about the meal was wonderful.
The kitchen gets an A+. That being said, we gave the service a C+. However we understand that this is a learning environment and they will improve with time. We will continue dining at the American Harvest Restaurant.

This was our second time to American Harvest. I have already made another reservation for this upcoming week. The food was amazing! The students have done Schoolcrafts Culinary program have outdone themselves.
Has been on our list of dining experiences for quite some time. The culinary arts students get a tip of my hat as this experience in dining was beyond my expectations. The meal we enjoyed was served buffet style with I recall at least seven choices of the main entree. I did manage to sample six of these and each was truly enjoyable. The braised beef was off the chart in both tenderness and flavor. Pork loin was moist and flavorful. Baked salmon beat just about every other place I have ordered from. Veal was vey tasty with a light gravy accompanied with some spaetzle dumpling. Roast chicken was spot on in preparation and nicely seasoned. I recall four perhaps five different options for salads with nice selection of dressing. Each station has a nice choice of vegetable. Super basket of assorted bread, rolls, croissant and breadsticks, with a generous cake of butter. The dessert bar will totally knock your socks off. An array of sweets that seemed to stretch from here to eternity. Being cheesecake fans that seemed to be the first item that leaped onto our table. Served on a small round doily shaped crust with fresh strawberry slices and some sort of white and milk chocolate stick. This thing just melted in your mouth. Pies, tortes, creme brûlée, the list goes on. Attentive service, enjoyable atmosphere, great food. Great evening out.
Wife and my Friday date night. Excellent food and very attentive staff. Definitely a place to place at the top of the list for another visit.

Had an excellent lunch, including special Guatemalan coffee prepared at our table. Fun to speak with culinary students who waited on us as they are passionate about their work and careers. Awesome desserts!
The Schoolcraft culinary school restaurant is a great find. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. There are only about 5-6 choices for your main course, but it is always difficult to choose. I had the gumbo soup and the crab cakes, which were both delicious. The crab cakes did not have a lot of filler - only great chunks of crab meat. And they always save the best for last. Their pastry table is fabulous. Everything is made in house and there are probably a dozen choices from cakes, to pastries to pies to puddings. I even noticed a gluten free choice which looked amazing. I always go several times a year. Now, unfortunately, the culinary school is closed for the summer and so is the restaurant!
Great place for lunch during the school season. Note this restaurant is part of the Vista Tech training program, where the CA students work the restaurant so it is not open during the summer months, holidays or semester break. Great food that changes daily. Reasonably priced
The food is always excellent at American Harvest - fabulous fresh breads, at least a dozen amazing desserts on view and limited, interesting choices for entrees. The lunch portions are excellent - sufficient but not enormous, allowing a person to enjoy a lovely dessert. Service is provided by the culinary students, who are learning all aspects of a restaurant. They are anxious to please and want to learn.
High standards were met and exceeded! Our food was truly amazing. We had our dessert to go because we had no room left after lunch, so we’re able to truly enjoy it at home.
Bar far my favorite restaurant! The food is wonderful and the student run staff are eager, polite and enthusiastic! Never disappointing at the American Harvest.
First time members of our party said they would very much like to return for another meal! Always like the "learning" experience of the students and staff. The presentation of the food is excellent! Well worth the drive across town for a fine meal!
Under the supervision of master chef Shawn Loving, this student restaurant delivers excellent food at an outstanding value. Some of the wait staff, who are also students, are not able to easily communicate the subtleties of the menu items: how they're prepared, what else is on the plate, what they taste like... but they are very attentive.
Table side coffee, new experience, love it. Salmon cooked to perfection. Fresh ingredients, well presentation.
It is always a pleasure to go to American Harvest. You never know what the menu will hold and it's always tastey. They take great care with the food and the dessert bar is unbelievable! Highly recommended.
My twenty-seven year old son and I had lunch this week and enjoyed the service, quiet, and outstanding and unique food. The presentation was pleasing to look at and delicious. Of course, the desserts are out of this world for their eye and taste appeal. I especially like the opportunity to walk down the 20 foot display to select a dessert. I have been to the American Harvest several times and neither myself or anyone else in the group has ever been disappointed.
Showcase restaurant for Schoolcraft Community College Culinary Arts students. Dinner was a buffet of many dishes following a geographic theme. Excellent dishes from appetizers and salads through desserts. Great beers brewed on site by students. I recommend eating here for anyone looking to experiment with many different dishes.
You must be adventuresome with food and willing to try new things. Beautiful desserts.
An added bonus is being able to buy take away dinner all made buy aspiring chefs.
First time at American Harvest but it won't be our last. The food was creative and allowed us to try something out of our normal lunch choices. The ingredients were of the highest quality and the dishes executed beautifully. Service was good, friendly and helpful when we asked questions.
Also don't miss the desserts. They are worth every calorie and something quite extraordinary!
