American Harvest Restaurant

Wonderful experience with a good friend of mine. Tyler our server was patient as my friend and I caught up and was knowledgeable about the menu and answered all my inane questions about the school which I was interested in because as an Architect I design many restaurants. Margaret came by our table I believe 3 times to check on us.
We never felt rushed and we had the lamb.. the best I’d ever had. Also the Grouper/Shrimp was delicious but I lived in Florida and was all excited to get a nice thick fillet and a couple prawn size shrimp but that wasn’t the case. The pieces were too small to taste the fish. I wouldn’t have breaded them although it was a light tasty coating. I still enjoyed it but I wish I would have chosen something else or asked Tyler about the preparation of the dish.. my bad. Chocolate cheesecake delicious. Oh the mustard based salad dressing was really good. The pea soup was really good but a bit bland but I’m used to having ham in one I make. I would nix the croutons they weren’t necessary.

Everything was wonderful except not keen on the pork being pink. I prefer well done.

Easy reservation process via Open Table. Excellent with confirming reservations. Great atmosphere. Only negative, the day the three other guests and I went, two of the guests could not eat most of what was on the entree (it was a Friday), as one of the two has seafood/shelled fish allergies. That day, all the entree was seafood, and one Rabbit (!) entree. There needs to be a continuation of a variety of choices, due to different tastes. Otherwise, the food was delicious!

A little slow but great overall!

The food was delicious! We will return soon. I had the black bean soup and chicken picante and my husband had the salmon and we both were surprised on how wonderful it was. This is surely a great place to come and not break the bank! Of course the desserts are to die for! Great place for any occasion.

We had a great experience. We always do when we go there. Samantha was a great waitress and very knowledgeable of the meals and the desserts.

Students and faculty do an outstanding job of preparaing and serving. Desserts are spectacular as always a favorite!

Have been here many times. This time, I brought my husband and another couple. It was the first time for the three of them. Found it outstanding as usual, they found it more upscale than expected, impressed by all of the desserts offered. Our meals were delicious and beautifully presented with great service. Thank You all.

Every time we come to American Harvest the menu is different and interesting. All our dishes were well prepared and nicely presented. Looking forward to our next visit already!

We have been coming here for years. However, this last experience was not nearly as good as in the past. Since changing the seating times this past semester we found the food was mostly out at multiple stations and too many people bunched up at once made wait times longer for service. We spent a good amount of time during the meal without food trying to eye the stations for them to be refilled. Sad that all draft beer choices were not on printed menu. Dessert was excellent as always though.

Interesting and delicious food. Frequently we learn something. This time it was the goat and roti. Fantastic.

There were four of us celebrating my birthday. The dinner and dessert was great as always. The food was in two stations which kept the wait short. The students did a wonderful job serving. It's pretty interesting to talk with them about their plans for the future. The instructors here have these students right on point. This restaurant is the best one around for the money. I have eaten there many times before and have never been disappointed.

Love the student run and prepared lunches/ dinners at Schoolcraft College. A great adventure to experience restaurant cuisine from the beginning of the process. With the numerous chefs who have completed the course and now operating their own restaurants and are renowned chefs, it’s a treat for the tummy.

Fantastic to be part of the training of these new chef professionals! Beautifully presented, everything appointed just perfectly.

Great food, amazing variety of entrees deliciously prepared and an amazing value.

My second time there, took a friend this time. She will be bringing friends on her next visit. This is a gem. The kids are wonderful. They're being taught classic kitchen skills and procedures. They did table-side bananas flambe - executed beautifully - but didn't use the French Service technique of large spoon and fork in same hand - quibble. Desserts are wonderful: a Dacquoise-type cake was sublime, the Crème Brulee was rich and eggy. The smoked bacon and pork pie was country and elegant! First time in years I'm able to eat gourmet food at a reasonable price. And Sandy, the hostess, is great!

Food was excellent. Incredible selection of desserts that all looked phenomenal. Hard to choose which one to try. Service was a bit slow, so it took over 1 hour for lunch.

In recent years, it seemed as though the quality of the ingredients was lower. This time, however, everything was back up to the high quality that I experienced years ago. We especially enjoyed the sushi, salmon, beef short ribs, and grilled eggplant. The pastries are always beautiful and taste amazing!

The food and service were amazing! I highly recommend!

Overall food selection was very good. Asian flavors was the theme and was adequately represented. Preparation was excellent. Student servers are not up to speed and quality- but it is understandable, considering that they are in training. Good value for the food!

The waiter assigned to our table did a lackluster job. He seemed to be catering to one table of patrons in particular so we did not receive the service that we normally receive at this restaurant.

I have been going to Am. Harvest for 4 years and have never been disappointed. The students are charming and efficient mostly due to their professional, yet friendly instructors.

We have a good time.

We go to American Harvest several times a year. The food is always excellent, and the waitstaff friendly. This time, though, the place was more crowded than usual, resulting in a longer than normal wait for the food, and closer packing of the tables than usual. In spite of that, I would recommend AH as one of the best, if not the best, restaurant I've been to.

A wonderful place for a wonderful meal. I have wanted to have dinner here for years and I finally got around to it. I don't know why I waited so long!
