Real Food for Real People
The Steak Tartare and House Brisket Burger were my favourite! The house made chips were good. Not so much a fan of the Rocket Prosciutto Flatbread because it was kind of soggy and the tastes of the items on the flatbread didn’t mesh well for me nor my boyfriend. The oysters were super fresh and delicious! But a little pricey at $4 each.
Fantastic cocktails , service , location and ambiance!
Love this place! Food is amazing and lovely atmosphere. Literally couldn't explain in words how delicious everything is on their menu. Probably my fave in Edmonton!
Thoroughly enjoyed my brunch experience at Ampersand27. Lots of variety for Eggs Benedict! I would return to try other menu items. I liked the coffee and the cocktail "Jasmine Collins."
Ampersand is easily one of my favourite restaurants in the city. Best service, the servers are always letting me know about new menu additions and have never let me down with their reccomendations. Its particularly nice to dine here as the servers are well informed about everything they sell! My date and I typically like to have the bartender come up with cocktails for us and each one was delicious and fresh with quality liquor and ingredients. I'm never disappointed dining here :)
Some of the menu items were misleading - poke refers to raw fish salad, so instead of calling a plate “poke” (and in small print say its vegetarian) call it a salad - because that’s what it is. On the other hand the creme brule was indeed a creme brule and it was delicious! The service was excellent.
Great restaurant! Pleasant outdoor seating, nice staff, food and drinks are of top quality.
It's got great atmosphere and the service was decent but the food was disappointing. The pork was a little tough and the brussel sprouts seemed my dehydrated than roasted, pure however was delicious. If we were invited to get together there we would go but wouldn't go out of our way to make our reservations there again.
Jule was a lovely host, she provided advice on meal choices when asked, pleasant and smiling, and not intrusive but attentive
The drinks and food were beautifully presented and everything is delicious - west coast oysters, charred cauliflower on beluga lentils, burger was tender and juicy, not a major fan of crisps rather than fries on the side but they were tasty!
Dessert was a chocolate tarte, not my top selection for dessert, but definitely perfect in creamy chcolatiness, and not too sweet, set with the right amount of tartness from the raspberries and sorbet
Excellent venue for those special evenings out! Whyte Ave never disappoints and neither does this restaurant! We will be back!
Wonderful server, I wish I could recall her name. Hassled a bit by some rough looking folks as we sat on the patio but the manager(?) was quick to handle the situation. The guy looked like he fell on hard times but was being a nuisance for sure.
Food was great as always. One of my favourite places to go to when I’m in Edmonton!
Thanks to the staff😊
Excellent food quality and variety. Service is always very friendly and efficient.
We went for the oyster special and had the best service! Our server was friendly, funny and very helpful with picking some great items off the menu. I would highly recommend!
We had a fantastic time! The food was excellent, as well as the service. Thank you for helping us make my sister-in-law’s stagette memorable.
So great to hang out on a beautiful summer evening with the doors open and a fabulous G&T in hand.
Not sure why they have a musician playing on a Friday night. Way too loud. Expensive menu and not enough options v
Usually I would recommend but this last experience was not a good one
The staff was amazing! They catered to our every need. Love the ambience.
We were the loud ones at our dinner! It was wonderful, I’ve been before and I’ll be back again!
Always a wonderful experience. This was our 2nd visit for $2/shuck Oyster night and we were once again not disappointed. In addition to the oysters, we had the Gull Valley tomato salad, baked mozza, and pork belly buns. Last visit we had the scallops, cauliflower, steak tartare along with the tomato salad (it’s that good!) All were really, really well done! Our server was delightful, and the ambience is lovely. Looking forward to our next visit!
I had been to Ampersand before but my husband hadn't. I had always had a great experience and wanted to surprise my husband a Father's Day brunch. My reservation was for 12:30 p.m. We were seated at 12:20 p.m. We observed the dining room area was approximately 3/4 full. After 20 minutes, I had to flag down the hostess to advise her that we had not seen a server yet. Our server brought us drinks and advised that it would be a half hour before we received our food, which we understood given that it was Father's day. Around 1:15 p.m., we still had no food and the dining room capacity had dwindled down to not even 10 tables, however the patio was at half capacity. We sat with empty drinks for nearly 45 minutes without anyone noticing. We had to again ask another server (not our own) to check into the time for our food, which still had not been prepared yet. She advised that it would be 6-7 minutes. We waited another 15 minutes and decided to leave. I am incredibly disappointed in the service. We brought our friend, whom was there with his baby and we had our son, there was no acknowledgement to them that it was father's day, even as a courtesy and we understand wait times, but there was so little in hospitality to even make up for the wait time. I would never recommend dining here to anyone at this point and what used to be my favorite restaurant to go to, is no longer. I would never return.
The restaurant was beautiful. However, we had to wait 30 minutes before we got our drinks and wait over an hour until our breakfast arrived.
Was not happy with the overall experience.
I would have given a much better review. After going for brunch at 10:00 am - 5 in total - we were not told of the special for dad's. I saw this on Facebook. C'est la vie - but it's not good practice.
Love this restaurant, love the food, ambiance, and service. For some reason on this visit my party of 5 was tucked in the corner next to the kitchen even though the dinning room was mostly empty for the majority of the time we were there. So that was a bummer, but otherwise a great time, great place.
Our server was very energetic and knowledgeable about the menu and cocktail selection. Great tasting food, lovely atmosphere, and already looking forward to returning in the future!
First time enjoying this place. Heard a lot of great things about it and it didn’t disappoint! Service was a bit slow to start but the portions were huge!
Recommended by our daughter, & has a great sharing menu, not to mention the biggest gin selection (64 different gins!). We chose to share some charcuterie, and then split 4 appetizers over the evening (like a 5 course meal!). Our waiter timed the food delivery perfectly. Food was all very tasty. We'll be back.
My girlfriend and I ordered four starters to share, which were amazingly delicious and I have to say, a good value. My extreme disappointment was with the drinks. We ordered two specialty drinks, $15 and $16 each, which tasted horrible. One was a pina colada with turmeric and ginger, which ended up tasting gross, and another was an “award winning” drink with apricot, salt, and condensed milk. Neither I nor my girlfriend could stomach them, and stopped drinking them after a couple hesitant sips. I expected these would be taken off our bill since we didn’t drink them, and didn’t enjoy them at all. Instead we were charged the full amount ($31 for the two drinks) plus tax and 18% tip, which is a rip-off of the highest order. Overall, the food was excellent, but the drinks and service were not up to par and I cannot recommend any of my friends/family/colleagues/strangers to visit here again unless this is addressed.
Great service and superb hollandaise sauce, server was fantastic and brought us the supper menu and was super excited about it.
I have been to amazing restaurants around the world and ampersand is in my top three. It is my new go to place to take people! Consistent in service and flavour, I love it.
Fabulous brunch menu!
I always enjoy their foie gras. I have to say the sour dough is much better not toasted as it gets really hard.
First time back in quite a while, appreciated the new-to-me menu. Smoked salmon was perfectly balanced, crispy skin, terrific black rice and wild onions; chai tea creme brulee was lacking depth but top perfectly crispy and raspberries on side added a nice note. Coffee was great and wisely served in full-sized mugs. Bread starter was lovely w/oil & balsamic for dipping, but hardly sourdough at least as I know it. Beautiful room, attentive service, and 530 meal began quiet and sparse but room was busy and loud by 7. A fine restaurant indeed, and look forward to another visit soon, perhaps for brunch!
We had a lovely anniversary dinner. Very loud, though. Fresh pasta with meatballs was very good.
Wonderful place and excellent food. They just need to back it up with good service. Our server was amateur at best and not attentive.
A great place on whyte ave. Great cocktails and even better food
Great food and service. The restaurant has a really great atmosphere. We’ll be back
The service wasnt good. Asked them to move our table because my mom was sick and she wanted to be under sun light. They refused and said the other table is for bigger crowd. The tables were empty when we left and they sat down another party of two while we were leaving. Didnt want to compromise at all. The food quality wasnt great either. I do not recommend this place at all. Not worth the price.
