Amazing tacos and margaritas! I’m pregnant and the virgin margaritas were a nice treat!
The atmosphere was nice, however, the table and seating area were very small and cramped. Our server was very attentive and pleasant, our glasses were always topped up and he was readily available if we needed anything. The guacamole was excellent and the on table preparation and presentation made it quite memorable. The steak tacos were extremely chewy and stringy which made them difficult to eat without having to remove portions of the meat while in mid-chew. It was evident that the steak was a lower grade and prepared inadequately, I suspect it was an oversight and probably not the norm. It was a pleasant evening and I'm always happy to go to a different restaurant but I probably won't return to Anejo.
Disappointing. Remembered why I wasn't going to come back to this restaurant from my last experience three years ago. I'd forgotten but remembered once I ate my meal.
Quality has continued to go down hill. There are many other very good tasting Mexican restaurants, fresher ingredients, more authentic and not as expensive.
My son and I went to Anejo to have tacos and enjoyed the YYC Food and Drink a Experience it was a great value. The restaurant was quiet, our server was lovely and although some of the food was a little spicy we loved our meals. Chips salsa and guacamole, four flavours of tacos and two perfectly sized decadent desserts! Yum. Highlights were guacamole (a must), tacos so good (beef was my fave) and we loved the tres leche.
We’ve been to Anejo a few times and this visit did not disappoint. Sadly my mid day son and mom meal couldn’t accommodate my favourite margarita “The Cadillac”. Looking forward to going back to Anejo soon.
Best tacos and margaritas in Calgary. Best price and awesome service
Great food, margaritas and service! Wish I hadn’t filled up on your amazing guacamole, so I could have tried the 3 course menu 😃
Delicious, fast, great vibe
Food and drinks were excellent and our server was fantastic! Understand now why everyone likes Anejo so much and definitely will be back.
Had an afternoon lunch date with my cousin and her daughter. The food was decent, the tacos weren’t as great as I remembering them being know and they were too spicy for my cousins daughter. The guacamole and margaritas were delicious.
Place was hopping on a Friday night. Great service.
It was my 2nd visit that I took a client for dinner too and the service and food was just as stellar as the first time. Your chili coconut margaritas are delicious and dangerous! :)
Truly never disappoints. Have tried almost everything on the menu and it’s all been amazing!
Love it here every time I come! Such good food and people
Service and drinks were really good, so was the table side guacamole. However the tacos and stuffed jalapeños were extremely underwhelming.
The service at the restaurant was terrible... In the 2.5 hours we were at the restaurant our server visited our table 3 times. Food and drinks were good.
Excellent experience! Excellent service! Very delicious food and drinks!
Food was ok - Enchilada was not what I expected ... it was more like a casserole - probably wouldn’t recommend it or order it again
The tacos looked good
Guacamole was outstanding
Great vibe and service. They were out of a number of items the night we were there
Everything was great :) service and food!
It was my first time at Anejo and I took my daughter there for dinner. The first thing was the seating, although my daughter got a nice padded bench with back rest, I got to sit on a log. This place is not a restaurant but a bar as it was so loud that the waitress could not even hear us when we ordered. The
ceviche appetizer that we ordered was delicious but only came with 8 tortilla chips the size of a loonie
We asked for more but by the time they came we were almost finished. The mocajeta de carne was dry
and lacked a salsa in it. Now the best one, the arrachera was a joke, when I ordered it and the waitress
asked me how I wanted it done, I asked for Medium, which she replied we recommend medium rare. I again told her I prefer medium. When the food got there the first thing I noticed without even touching
my steak was that it was not arrachara, as arrachara is flank steak and is very thin. I tried cutting into it with my steak knife and could not even cut it. Then looking at the steak it was completely rare inside.
The asparagus wrapped in was looked like raw bacon was not much better, the rice was really good.lol
If you are under 30 and have never been to Mexico or eaten Mexican food, like to yell alot at your table
and like to drink overpriced Margaritas the size of a large shooter then you will absolutely love this place
It was just an ok experience. Server was not friendly and not attentive to us. The margarita was alright. Not sure will come back to fine there. Would not recommend it.
Quick in and out that was perfect for our evening.
I loved ANEJO I went back everyday. The tacos are delicious and the margaritas are delicious! I’m definitely going back next time I’m in Town
First time going here. The server is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!!
Had a birthday dinner reservation.
Amazing food - had their signature guacamole, aguachile, and tacos. Good portion size, amazing flavour profile.best margaritas in the city!
The server (can’t remember the name) was very nice. Went out of his way to make my friend and I feel good and enjoy ourselves. Made the night special for my friends birthday!
Overall great experience, food, and service. Would definitely recommend!!!!
The food was great. Lots of flavour. We likes the experience
Loved the food and the service was exceptional. We will be back.
The food and service as always was exceptional.
Really disappointed. They got rid of a lot of great menu options. Service was extremely slow and inattentive even though the restaurant itself was not busy. Did not check in on food, didn't fill waters, waited 35 mins for shrimp tacos, waiter gave us cheque and before we finished paying he walked away. Not even thanking us for coming. And the cherry on top? My husband and I got very sick from our meal. Super let down because this used to be one of our favourite restaurants in the city. Will NOT be coming back.
Chile relleons are bad. Too rich. Tacos and guacamole are good.
I used to like this restaurant, but had the worst meal. Their stuffed poblano, was the worst i have ever had. They do not mention that it is heavily breaded and deep fried. Made a mistake of talking a friend into how good stuffed poblanos typically are. To add to this travesty, it was stuffed with pork belly, most of which was incredibly under-cooked - so tough you could not chew threw it, my stomach still churns thinking of this deep fried thing. My first margarita was really good, but the second one took 30 minutes to get from time of order (service grew increasingly worse as the meal went and it was not a busy night) and had twice the syrup in it. If i had not been with customers i would have sent everything back, but i did not want to make a fuss in front of people. Between 4 people we had 6 drinks (regular tequila), 4 mains, one appetizer and bill was $320. This will definitely be the last time i take clients here - so embarrassing.
Sorry to say that I would only go back for the margaritas. Food was not great, tacos were way too dry, appetizers quite expensive for the amount you get. Like I said though the margaritas were awesome!
Food and service was great! Table placements are weird and a little cramped but that’s Calgary and
Some of the food was very good while the enchiladas were so so but I’ll know better next time. Server was friendly and moved us to a larger table once he realized the food would not all fit comfortably. I have left a message via their website as I have an issue I’d like to discuss with management but yet to receive any response.
Went for my friends birthday as she loves it there. I was lovely as always!
The food and drinks were beyond amazing. The restaurant and service were excellent. The price tag was high, but for the quality of food it made sense.
Vegetarian options are ok on main dish menu (goat cheese stuffed jalapeno is big and can feed two people on its own) but other then a mushroom taco (average at best) you are left with starters or salads for veg diets. Luckily I am flexitarian and the chorizo taco is good. Order the guac and then a few tacos each plus one main between 4 and you are full. Menu does not seem to have changed in two years and are showing age (physically and literally) but food is still good.
The chips aren't made in house anymore, the prices are up, the tacos were not presentable, the pico de gallo was dumped on top of my tacos instead of on the side like I asked. It was almost too loud to have a conversation and one of our drinks was forgotten. We have been coming here since they opened so much has changed. Quality has been sacrificed.
Great meal. Fast, friendly service. Food is always consistently great here
Excellent food, great service. So many wonderful things to choose from! The fundidos is indeed a signature dish that is worth getting!! SO GREAT. Will definitely recommend.
