The only issue, as I have been here many times, is that my booking stated 'birthday' and there was no mention if it from the server in anyway. Not sure why it would be asked if there is no follow up?
Outstanding! Definitely a place to experience. We’ll be back!
Great food and service. Only thing I didn’t like was that we had made a reservation and when we got there was told it was cancelled because we didn’t confirm. Someone did call and left a message to confirm our reservation earlier that day but they never said to call back to conform; only if we had questions. I’ve never had to call back a restaurant to confirm, thought that was weird but I understand they are very busy. They still were able to get us in which we were happy about.
Love ❤️ love ❤️ the food, drinks and staff. Always enjoy. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was great, extremely disappointed in the service. Our waitress was rude, condescending, and arrogant. Constantly left looking for where she was, when she did provide service we felt we were a burden to her. Sadly won’t be returning.
My seat was a hard round barrel. Even with a cushion it was unbearable. The appetizers were OK, but my main course a pork belly stuffed pablano pepper was bland. Noise levels made conversation next to impossible. I would go to their sister restaurant Blanco for better food, better drinks and better value.
Our server, Rochelle was amazing!!
Amazing food- always a wee crowded and loud but we love the food
First time to Anejo and the food did not disappoint! The chicken tacos were so full of flavour and the guacamole was fantastic and fresh - made right at the table. Everyone else in my group was very happy with their food! It was a busy and lively night, very enjoyable.
Our waitress was incredibly scattered however, running back and forth between tables. She would take a few orders from our table then leave to go take a payment from another table before finishing our orders.. it was a bit nuts! After getting our bills I had asked for some change but it took her a long time to return and we had to leave as we had an event to get too. It was definitely not the best service!
I’ve been going to Anejo for years now but after my last few visits food just seems to be off. Chorizo Tacos were dry and tasteless, pork, also dry, the original hot sauces (which they boasted were made in house) have now been replaced with bottled products (all except one). They used to provide the option of corn or flour tortillas, which wasn’t offered. My previous few experiences have not be the Anejo that I remember enjoying so much.
Tacos came out cold but they were replaced and taken off our bill.
Server was amazing.
Food and service was great. $19 dollars for a glass of wine was a little ridiculous!
I frequent Añejo all the time and its one of my favourite spots.
Food was not very tasty. It didn’t have much flavour. Good place for drinks and guacamole dip. Otherwise I do not recommend.
Felt like a little dose of Mexico going to Anejo. We enjoy travelling to Mexico regularly but this is the next best thing as far as feeling like we are there when we're not.
Quality has gone down hill. My taco was mostly raw onion and fat
Great value at happy hour with half price Tacos and $6 margaritas. Margaritas were delicious. Very good service too
Table side guac was amazing! Tacos were ok (tried beef chicken mushroom). Chili coconut margarita was a delicious spicy treat.
Our server who made the guacamole was also awesome.
Happy hour was a great deal, we got lots of food/drinks k for a pretty good deal. Will go back for sure
Food. Drink and service were excellent as always. Place was packed and very hard to hear. Seating was tight.
Food and service was amazing. The feature tacos had quite a kick of spice for my liking, but balanced out with sour cream the flavors were amazing. A bit loud to hear your table mates but good atmosphere
Food is excellent!! The guacamole is made fresh at the table, and the churros are the best dessert ever
I didn't know what to expect from this restaurant because this was the first time going there. Will not be back. The prices are ridiculous for the amount of food you get. For example, I ordered a cheese quesadilla - I got two extremely small corn quesadilla's with maybe half a handful of cheese - that's it - no sauce, no gauc, no pica on the side - I had to ask and waited quite some time for a side of guac which cost me $5.00 for a peanut size dish - by the time it came my quesadilla was cold and hard. The service was terrible - no cutlery and had to wait for this too. There was 6 of us and we ordered a starter of salsa and chips - enough chips for one person really and we fought over the again ridiculous size of salsa given. I ordered guac to go with this and just this cost me $15.00 - enough for maybe two people. Maybe. Everything was way overpriced and my husband went home hungry and made something to eat after spending $200. And the cheekiness of them asking for $30.00 something in tip when you punch in your credit card to pay was another irritation. I don't know who can afford to eat here and why they would in the first place - the service was horrible, we sat in the middle of the pathway crowded. We will not go here again and I will not recommend this rip off of a restaurant. I would rather get fries from McDonald's - at least you get what you pay for.
First time at Anejo, but would definitely come back. Really enjoyed our evening!
Great food and drinks!
Noise level was the only negative, however it won't deter me from making reservations again.
Margaritas are amazing but expensive as are the 6 tacos for $30 that kinda suck 💁♀️
The vegetarian meal I ordered was so sour that I could barely eat it. Food was tasteless. They need to pay more attention on how their vegetarian dishes taste like. I mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday but they hadn’t made a note of that.
ANEJO has a great selection of food and welcoming service.
Let us know we only could stay for 2 hours.
Looked writes when asked for plain guacamole
Dessert was bad!
Super fun place, amazing margaritas, the passion fruit special was amazing!!! Really awesome service, was just a lot of noise.
Very good food, and decent value however the service really sucks
Went with my boyfriend for date night, they had an amazing happy hour, quick service and the food is always great!
Went for a girls night. We loved all of our food. It was super busy and they went out of their way to accommodate getting us in which was greatly appreciated.
Our waiter “accidentally” added a $30 drink to our tab that we didn’t order. I’d caution people to check their tabs.
The menu was also taken from us constantly when we were still ordering things. Not sure why. Maybe they were running short because it was super busy but the waiter could have asked if we were done with it.
We still had a great time and would definitely go back.
Not my first time at Añejo! Went this time on a date night with my hubby. Prior to be seated we got told that another reservation was coming in 2 hours later and if that would be enough time for us to have our meal (it’s plenty of time , but being asked that upon arrival was a buzz kill) the restaurant was dead! We got sat at a less desirable table for two (the ones by the bar with the stools and bench) ended up asking to move and was essentially given a “ummmm” we just said you know never mind it’s fine we will sit beside each other and eat. Again, The restaurant was dead! Food was great as always. Entree for my husband was over cooked (enchiladas ) and a bit $$$ for the portion size. We didn’t stick around too long and headed down fourth for a night cap! We will be back again -perhaps a one off experience ?
Love this place. Classic. One of Calgary's best spots!!!
Hard to flag down staff. Guac guy got guac all over the place when mixing.
Food was great! Margaritas excellent. Perfect location for our concert at the saddledome. Food came quickly. Excellent experience.
Food and drinks were great, quick service! Felt a little crowded but overall was a good experience.
Dinner for our Book Club. It was a little noisy to be able to discuss too much but everything else was five star!!
