Anis Cafe and Bistro
The menu is deeply rooted in the ingredients and aromas that give dishes from the French Mediterranean region their unique flavors.
Anis is comprised of an inside dining room and an outside patio area that is available for seating year round, and a charming little bar where you may enjoy a meal if you wish.
Widely known as one of the most romantic dining spots in the city, Anis is a great place to meet up with friends and can cater to large parties with ease.
Reservations are accepted and encouraged.
Join us for live Brazilian jazz on Thursday evenings.
Our staff was great at recommending the right pairing of food and wine as well as ensuring everything we asked for was taken care of.
Loved the ambiance and service. Our waiter was attentive and always around when needed but not overbearing. Food was on a salty side so if someone likes it that way it’s great. Really nothing else to complain about; just the salt levels of halibut and trout were bit more than I would like but texture, consistency and everything else were great. We will definitely be back as this place overall was great..
Always love Amani’s. Noise this time was bad on the patio because of a large birthday party for a group of about 20 women. But that was just one of those things.
This was my first time eating here and was very pleased. I took a client and she loved the ambience. The food was superb and our waiter could not have been better. The only reason I didn’t give it a five was it was very loud (although candidly we were on the patio outside ) and the portions were a tad on the small side. But honestly the quality of the food was amazing. I’ll be back !
Our favorite French dining and neighborhood destination!
WE GO TO ANIS ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS. This time it was for our daughters graduation from High School. She has a friend in her class from France and yes her and her family were eating at Anis as we came in. Always a fabulous experience.
Anis has and is a great place that does resemble dinner in Provence .!
Great date night with lively but not too loud atmosphere. Delicious menu and reasonably priced for a great Buckhead location.
Excellent wait staff. It was a great evening with outstanding service. Will come again!
Would have given 5 stars but parking was a nightmare. No valet available so had to park 2 blocks away
Great atmosphere and great food!
Atlanta has a lot of corporate restaurants and a few chef restaurants, this is the later and it’s wonderful. The moules and frits, and the swordfish special were both a delight. Informal and busy on the porch.
Great food and service. One of the best restaurants in Atlanta!
Quite possibly my best meal ever in Atlanta.
Once again beautifully orchestrated! Food-Excellent!, Service-Excellent- Beautiful Wine List!
Best Mother’s Day brunch in town, hands down!
Excellent food, but the entire experience was marred by overcrowding. We went on Mother's Day, a busy time for restaurants, and Anis tried to take advantage of the day by overfilling the restaurant well beyond comfort level to make every last nickel. As a result the restaurant was noisy, service was poor and we had no room to move. It is unfortunate, because we've been there before and liked Anis, but we won't return. Their desire to squeeze every last penny out of the day ruined our entire experience.
Stopped in on a Saturday night to our favorite French restaurant in Atlanta. Both my wife and I decided to have the mussels for our main course. The mussels are outstanding and comparable to those we have had on vacation in Belgium and France. The frites were not up to the same standard unfortunately. Get the mussels but skip the frites.
This is one of the very best restaurants - and probably one of the oldest - in Atlanta! We have been going to Anis for years, and have never had a bad meal, and always excellent service! The owner is always up front greeting and checking on things throughout. Can't say enough good things, but a must if you have not been there!!
Had the Steak au poivre it was delicious. Also had the dessert sampler and a couple of them were literally just a spoonful. Would get a regular sized dessert by itself next time.
We really enjoyed our experience at this funky casual French restaurant. My wife had fish and I had the duck confit and both were prepared very well. We liked the outdoor patio area but found the indoor areas to be nice as well. Service was a little hectic and perhaps a little too informal but overall satisfactory. We would definitely return.
This is a wonderful brunch spot. Mother's Day weekend is especially trying for them I'm sure. We have done this spot twice on the Saturday before Mother's Day. Food is great. French is the word for sure. I'd like to go sometime on a less busy weekend. I'm ready any time! It's just a great place in the Buckhead scene.
The service and ambiance was excellent, such a great place to go on a date (probably not for the first date, unless you really want to impress the other person). Food was okay, really good, but i thought the price is a bit steep. I would come back for a special occasion
Was nice to sit outside but was quite noisy, service was quite slow, not too friendly.
The food was tasteful, the staff helpful and friendly, the parking easy (complimentary valet) and seeing the place packed by 7pm was a good indication that we found a winner. I highly recommend this place for a great date night or an evening out with another couple.
It was delicious
It’s a special place for me and my friend.
We have been to Anis on several occasions. The food and service are always excellent. Anis has become our "go-to" location while in Atlanta.
Our food and server was great. She would’ve received I higher tip if she didn’t pre-fill it for us.
We need to come to Anis more. We all had a great meal. It had been awhile since we were here and we will make sure we come back soon.
Celebrated an anniversary on Saturday night. We were to be seated next to a table with a sheep dog next to one of the members of that party. Wife afraid of dogs and we asked for another location. We were promptly assisted and had an otherwise great time. Still not sure why a sheep dog would be in the restaurant. I did not see a notice of dogs welcome as in other places. If it was a support animal, I did not see any obvious signs that is was a working animal.
Celebration with business associates.
Great neighborhood restaurant, excellent cooking, fun atmosphere
Didn’t see the value price vs quality of the food. Duck was too salty, but accompanying veggies had little flavor. Maybe I made the wrong entree choice. Will go back, but no more duck for me.
Anis was my choice for my birthday dinner. We’ve been here many times over the years; brought out-of-town guests. But this evening was a COMPLETE disappointment. The calamari was not good. My truite meunière was dry as wood chips. The asides of roasted cauliflower & fingerling potatoes looked wilted and appeared tossed onto my plate. My son was also disappointed in his beef choice. He commented that it was “ordinary”. Not what we expected & have enjoyed in the past.
Consistently great food awesome patio especially now with the weather, usually there is live jazz for background making a great experience.
Great way to spend our 43rd anniversary!
Anis is my favorite. The atmosphere is quaint and warm, not your typical, run of the mill restaurant. The food is always delicious and the employees are knowledgeable and delightful.
I have always enjoyed dining at Anis Cafe. In the past, the food was always very good. However, on my recent visit the food was a disappointing with the exception of the Mushroom Ravioli entree. The service was a bit slow. With that said, I would still recommend Anis Cafe assuming that this last visit was an anomaly.
Would have liked to see more vegetarian options.
Well-prepared food and our table service was wonderful. Would have appreciated if Open Table had communicated to the restaurant that it was our anniversary.
