THE MEAL WAS GREAT A LITTLE HIGH BUT FOR THE QUALITY IT IS GOOD. I HATE GOING SOMEWHERE AND THEY OVER CHARGE AND THE FOOD IS BELOW QUALITY. HERE AT ANTEBELLUM YOU WILL FINE THE BEST.
This was my first time there. I recieved an email from OpenTable about this restaurant. Although the menu is limited, everything on it looked amazing. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and brie appetizer. For the entree, shrimp and grits. I enjoyed every single bite and plan on going back. The staff was wonderful and accommodating as well. Great hidden gem in historic Flowery Branch.
come here once a year when i come up to GA and ive never been disappointed
I will begin by saying that I have been a patron of Antebellum since the second day it was open. As the only fine dining close to Flowery Branch, I have always taken my out of town guests and family to dine here and anytime there is an event to celebrate it is my local choice. As a loyal customer, I make my comments in hopes they are helpful to the owners and management of the restaurant. First Christie was our server and she was absolutely amazing and she single handedly made the evening a wonderful experience. Two of us arrived on time and one in our party was late due to the rain and traffic as she was driving from Atlanta. We asked to be seated and indicated we would order drinks and appetizers. Our request was denied. I understand the need to have this policy but also whomever is at the front should exercise good business judgement and know when to adhere to the rules strictly and when it is OK to bend for customers’ goodwill. It was the middle of the week, the restaurant was not full and the dining room had one seating for the evening. The second item I will mention is the noisy level, which is indicated in almost 50% of the reviews. Yes, the older house adds to the ambience of the restaurant. However, as has been noted by several other guests, there are inexpensive solutions to lower the noise level if management were considerate of their guests’ overall experience. Lastly, the menu is small, which I like because it enables the chef to execute at his best on each dish. However, the menu could use updating or adding more variety for those who frequent the restaurant more often.
I treated my dear friend to a wonderful birthday dinner. Christy, our server, was wonderful. She made a point to acknowledge that we were celebrating my friend's birthday. She was very knowledgeable about the wine offerings and the evening's menu choices. Our entrees were delicious. We shared the yummy birthday dessert which was a warm chocolate chip cookie in a baby cast iron skillet with vanilla ice cream on top.
Thanks for a pleasant evening full of excellent food and superb service.
We were in the back room [converted 'bungalow']. The people adjacent were rather loud and the room small with high ceilings, gloss walls and hard floors - even the waiter rolled his eyes after we repeatedly asked for specials' descriptions - 'cause we just couldn't hear him above the din. However: the fried green tomato appetizer wonderful; the baked brie was unexpectedly enlarged by a think pastry cover and way too delicious, Halibut great and the hanger steak was hanging around demanding more. On the peach desert, would have benefited from the peach slices being peeled, speckled crumb good, but the ice cream was on the overly sweet side. The fusions of local supply and a very creative chef were the highlight of the evening[s] spent here. They need to soften the acoustics - seriously!
The menu is limited but the selections are presented very well and are very tasty and fresh. The Pimento cheese appetizer is outstanding. The service was first rate. We will definitely return soon.
Lovely restaurant! Hospitable, knowledgable server, delicious food with incredible flavors. The corn soup is amazing. Pimento cheese & Bread delightful, fried green tomatoes yummy - stacked with bacon jam and egg plus mimosa ice palate cleanser (slushee). The shrimp and grits were creamy, the halibut was out of this world! Coffee creme brulee delicate and perfect, the cappuccino crafted expertly. They even treated us to a champagne toast for our anniversary! The location is a classy, perfect Southern haven.
Our first visit to Antebellum provided a wonderful dining experience to enjoy our anniversary. Delicious and unique culinary choices served by courteous and knowledgeable staff. We will definitely be back often!
Birthday dinner with a group of friends. The food and ambiance were wonderful.
Excellent, as always. We’ve never been disappointed at Antebellum! We split the halibut which was delicious as well as the baked brie and our Caesar salad. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient. I enjoyed the birthday cookie & vanilla ice cream presented in a mini skillet. Great soft jazz playing in the background...live!
Awesome as always! Can't say enough about the service; Ken was attentive and made great recommendations!
Very good food!
Wonderful as always!
Antebellum was excellent as always! The menu is frequently changed to keep up with the Farm to Table movement. Ingredients are locally sourced and the presentation is always out of this world!!! A must try that is almost always available...Fried Green Tomatoes w/ quail egg top, hot sauce & frozen champagne mimosa to cool off the palate. Delicious!!!
What a GEM! This is an extraordinary experience with a level of quality you would expect at some of the best that Buckhead has to offer but in a warm and casual southern charm old house. The staff was outstanding and our server was brilliant.
Celebrated our first wedding anniversary there and they didn't disappoint. We arrived a few minutes early, we received a friendly greeting and was seated. Our server was outstanding, very pleasant, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of. She asked what brought us to their establishment, we let her know, and while we looked at the menu she brought us some sparkling wine to celebrate. Its those kinds of little things that speak huge volumes when taking care of a customer. Our food was fresh and prepared well. The corn bread loaf slices with green tomato jam was spot on. We started with the Lobster Bisque and Sweet Corn Soup... both outstanding. My wife had their Shrimp and Grits... her Charleston South Carolina palate found it to be one of the best versions shes had. I ordered the Ribeye Steak and it was very tender, flavorful, and the aoli sauce was amazing. We had planned on desserts, but found we were so full from dinner... we just couldn't do it. Maybe next time!
Antebellum was fantastic. We came with another couple that we dine with on a fairly regular basis. We all thought the food was great. Everything we had from appetizers to dessert was perfect. Ken, our server, was very attentive and helpful. We’ve dined together for years (usually ITP) and we all agreed this was one of our best dining experiences.
It was a noisy restaurant.... Guests are not polite
An absolutely wonderful meal and fantastic service. This was our first visit to this hidden gem in Flowery Branch but it will certainly not be our last. We loved the creative menu, the incredibly knowledgeable server and the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I highly recommend Antebellum.
Oh my gosh!! We’ve talked for a couple years about going to Antebellum for dinner and I am so glad we finally did!! It is definitely Not the last time we go either! The food is gorgeous and tastes even better than you could imagine! Locally sourced ingredients and the chef is beyond top notch! What he is able to do with food is truly magical! The service was amazing, he took great care of us without being all in our business and the wine list and super tasty cocktails definitely hit the spot! We will go back and it’s quickly become one of our favorite local spots outside the city! I will say, this is not an inexpensive place to go, but it’s by far one of the best meals I’ve get had (from California to New York) and it is worth every penny!!
Perfect dining experience! Great service, wonderful food! We were pleasantly surprised to be given a complimentary champagne toast to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary. Exceptional customer service!
What a wonderful place for 2 or 4 people to celebrate a special occasion. Everything was topnotch. The waitress promised the salmon would make my mouth happy and it did.
Wonderful service and food. Our waitress was great, unfortunately I can't remember her name but can't remember my own half the time!
First visit. I WILL be back!
The food is great.
Servers are attentive and friendly.
Atmosphere is nice, quiet & relaxing!
Hands down one of the best meals we've ever had!! Absolutely amazing!!
Love this restaurant. Had table ready at our reservation time. Food is always exceptional.
Food was excellent, ingredients fresh and local. Complimentary champagne for anniversary. Loved it
We came in with a dietary restriction that we noted on the reservation. The waiter and chef had already discussed the restriction and made recommendations to meet the need. All food was excellent and the service was outstanding! They had a live guitar player that played soft background music that my wife thought was a recording. He never stopped playing the entire time we were there.
Outstanding as usual!
Wonderful dinner with friends. Complementary champagne to celebrate our anniversary was greatly appreciated.
Fantastic food and service!
Food was great but it was a little louder than I was hoping for.
Always the best. The ribeye is to die for. And the berry cobbler with extra ice cream is a must.
As always, we had an amazing experience at Antebellum. Appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts were just fabulous. Can not wait to return!!!
Surprising combination of foods. Staff was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The menu changes seasonally but there are some staples, one is the foie gras creme brulee! I only wish there was more!
I was a bit disappointed with the steak - it was a very thin cut. Very tasty. Hard to cook a thin steak the way I like it - rare+.
Consistently excellent food and service is what I expect when dining at Antebellum and once again they did not disappoint. I had the salmon while my wife had the chicken with the fried green tomatoes. My salmon was prepared exactly the way I like it and my wife throughly enjoyed her meal. They had a half off per bottle of the wine under $50 that night and the choices were very good.
My husband made reservations for my birthday dinner, our first time at Antebellum. We both thought the food was superb, the service was as well except it took a bit for our server to get to us or to bring us bread for the table. That came after we had placed appetizer order - actually it came immediately following the bread being brought. So I don 't blame our server, Charity was wonderful, however it seemed they were in need of another server working. We plan to return and I have already recommended Antebellum to a coworker.
Just wow... I was really blown away. Everything was absolutely outstanding. I go to top rated restaurants all over the world and Antebellum can holds its own with any of them. The starters, main courses and desserts were all completely perfect. The freshness, preparation, presentation, flavors and service were spot on.
The main stand out had to be the Faux Gras Creme Brûlée. It’s my go to dessert when I get one and it’s typically the only dessert I get when dining in Paris. Antebellum’s was the best I’ve ever had.
This restaurant is an absolute must hit for any foodie visiting Atlanta and certainly if you’re on the NorthEast side but worth the journey from anywhere.
