Been here many times and I’m never disappointed! It’s better to reserve later so you aren’t rushed for the next seating.
Great 5 course dinner. We enjoyed our experience and the Sommelier helped us to choose a lovely
bottle of red wine to go with our duck breast entree. A lovely dining experience in all.
It was a little shocking that some people go out to such a nice restaurant in sweat pants. Leave the sweat pants for the gym and dress up a bit to go to this great restaurant!
I have extreme dietary restrictions. Have had this for over 2 years. Araxi was without a doubt the best experience I have had. The others don't even come close. The chef even took the limited foods I can eat and he made up a five course price fix dinner for me to choose to order if I decided thats what I would like. YES, that is what I would like and it was amazing. He even went to the point of getting quinoa to add to the meal. I was told you don't have quinoa.....every course was delicious and appreciated immensely. The server also went above and beyond, often I am made to feel awkward and uncomfortable and this didn't happen at all. Thankyou Araxia!!!
Met Bob for the first time. That is blue Bob or Holland Bob. lol. Liked him just the way he was. Friendly and knowledgeable even though he is a new hire.
We had a great night celebrating my boyfriends birthday. The server was well knowledgable and let us have our space to enjoy our night, but also made sure we had everything we needed. Was an awesome experience.
Drinks and food menu both had an amazing selection to choose from. Service was outstanding. Great way to end my birthday evening.
Great experience and the 5 course meal we had was really great!. Also for $37 is it a killer deal for a high end restaurant.
Superb. You won’t find better food and service in Whistler. And what a deal this Autumn... $37 for 5 courses... and it’s amazing.
The service brings me back to Araxi over and over. The sommeliers (and accompanying wine cellar) are always attentive and imaginative. [If you haven't tried BC and other Northwest wines you are missing a treat.] The wait staff superb and fun. The food sourced locally much of the time. On your own sitting at the bar, as a couple, or with a large group, the restaurant has never disappointed.
We went for the 5-course special (usually in late April and in October). All courses were delicious and were beautifully presented. Service was great, nice ambience. It's a deal for $37, and in the heart of Whistler Village. But they get a lot of it back on the wine, which can be pricey.
Our 4 visit to Araxi in 5 years for Thanksgiving Dinner. Always enjoyable and good value. For some reason this year we didn’t get stuffing it we made the best of it. We will be back again
Extremely slow service. Pasta was over cooked and exceptionally salty. Very disappointed.
Just incredible! And expensive. Save Araxi for a rare, very special occasion and splurge on appetizers and cocktails. You won't regret it!
had a relaxing meal with friends. services was on the mark
We have tried their 5 course specials and have never been disappointed. The ambiance, servers and food have been wonderful every time we have booked for dinner. I suggest if you are in the area and Araxi has their specials this is certainly a treat to be had by everyone.
Food, drinks, and service was excellent! highly recommend for anyone looking for either a romantic dinner for 2 or a group dinner. Service was a bit slow but over all she was knowledgeable and accommodating.
Just amazing! The food, the wine pairing, the service, the environment... everything was exquisite!
Amazing 5 course meal for $37.. Celebrating 37 years in Whistler.
No compromise in the ingredients of the dishes offered.
Our five course meal with the wine pairings was outstanding, each course was delicious and artistically presented and the individual wines were nothing less than perfect, our server Prudie and all other staff were knowledgeable and helpful and friendly- the best dining experience of our stay at Whistler - can hardly wait to go back
As locals in Whistler, we have eaten at Araxi many times and will continue to do so when we want to experience an excellent meal. We recommend seating in the wine room where noise levels are much less.
Amazing 1st time experience... our waitress was so knowledgeable and friendly. Every bite was so flavourful and beautiful. Highly recommend! !!!!!
Excellent Dinner. Enjoyed the food, the Server and the event.
My husband and I did the Prix Fixe menu here with wine pairing for our anniversary, our server was so knowledgeable and did an excellent job with recommendations. The food was divine, and we were very full and happy when we left. We will absolutely be back to try more of the menu.
Somewhat over-rated. The food was still quite good especially the shashimi salmon. However, there are certainly better restaurants in the area.
All time favourite place. Since off season, place was full but not crazy. We had perfectly roasted duck breast and ever so tender angus steak. Waitress was timely and provide excellent service. Thanks.
The steelhead (ordered by 4 of us) and its accompaniments was excellent. My husband did not like his duck. He thought it was too fatty. The lingcod was delicious.
Service was subpar. Our waiter delivered the wrong item and by the time the right item came (steelhead), everyone else had finished eating. It did not seem that the chef had been informed to give it priority. He did not automatically offer a discount for the mistake and very delayed replacement on the bill...so we had to tell him we certainly expected one in order to get it. He did not come and check on us as is customary.
We had to ask another waiter to find ours twice during the meal.
It was good. There was a hair in one of the dishes but they replaced it right away and took it off the bill.
Came here with a group of five for my dad's birthday. Service from our waitress was superb. We started with a few oysters which tasted very fresh. I had the seafood special which was Ling cod, which was delicious. The rest of our group were very happy with their meals as well
Always pleasure to drink amazing wine and eat amazing food at this restaurant
Wow! The food was delicious, amazing ambience and spectacular service! Our server Erica was top notch, taking care of all of our needs. Best experience!
We shared a dozen mixed oysters and both had sablefish as our main. The oysters were very tasty. The fish was perfectly cooked and served in a soy-miso broth with Asian veggies' -an excellent well presented meal. Service throughout was attentive and knowledgeable. A wonderful evening. We go the Araxi whenever we are in Whistler and recommend this restaurant highly.
Excellent restaurant, never disappointed me for years. I went there w/2friends on 9/25 ‘18 after a round of golf on Fairmont Chateau Whistler. We ordered 1dz oysters , tuna tataki & some other appetizers to share, together with tenderloin steak, home made pasta, and pork belly + scallops as our main courses. The oysters from the bar for sure were fresh chilled & milky sweet as usual, the sweet pork belly w/ a bit of too salty scallops was a surprise n my first try too. The tenderness of the home made pasta was a beauty, and the steak was the champion of the night. Good Ambiance ,lovely waitresses ,fabulous food n wine, and the friendly prices. It is one of my pocket lists every time I visited Whistler.
We had really nice service, but there was a very obnoxious loud table that the servers didn't take care of, it was disruptive. They oysters and ship were great, but the mains (porkbelly and scallops) was meh.
Our food was delicious, but our experience wasn’t the absolute best. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, but they seemed understaffed so the service did suffer a little bit. We were seated right next to the loudest table in the restaurant where a screeching group of drunk cougars were sitting. They were so loud we couldn’t even hear each other talk, I don’t mind people having a good time, but they were a bit excessive. I wish the staff had asked them to lower their yelling match by like 20 decibels. Other than that the food was amazing and I would go again to eat but not to listen to the raucous squabble of middle-aged woman.
We absolutely loved our experience! The oysters were the best I have ever had and by far the steak dinner was the best steak we have ever had! It was melt on your tongue, super tender, delicious!! The sauce was so flavorful yet light, we did not want the bites to end! We loved the cocktails and appreciated the knowledge of our server. One small complaint is that we had mentioned to our server that we were on our honeymoon and by chance the two tables beside us received desserts with Congratulations written in chocolate on their plates while we did not. That was a small detail that he could have picked up on. Also, when went to pay we tried to use a MasterCard gift card and it wouldn't go through. Apparently they need to be processed first as a pre-authorization and later completed for the full amount. This wasn't our server's fault, as we also were not aware of this procedure, but this is something that the restaurant could look into and train its staff for to avoid awkward scenarios like ours at the time of payment. Overall we had a fantastic experience and I have already told many friends and family about it. We will go back for sure. Although it will have to be a special occasion as it's not exactly within our average budget.
I went there to celebrate my husband ‘s birthday. The staff was friendly. My husband and I both ordered the tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. The deserts were spectacular made in house with fresh ingredients. If you were to go there for a romantic evening you might find it a bit noisy.
Great spot for our group of 4. Wonderful, accommodating service. We had a fish-lover, a fish-hater, a vegetarian and a vegan at our table, and there were delicious options for everyone.
Not so sure, expected more. Dined at Araxi tonight, had great expectations, waiter was excellent, food good (not over the top). First wine I ordered (a $100 plus BC wine, which is a staple) was out of stock, asked the wine steward for guidance, he upsold me, bottle that came to the table from someone else, not the wine steward was wrong, a pinot vs a cab, wine was redelivered as I was told I was wrong, I then pointed to the wine we ordered and was told yes it was different. I then received the bottle, was told it was their last one. I subsequently asked the wine steward about the wine, the commentary was totally wrong. A Manager was milling about checking on a few tables, but never came to our table, or most, to ask how things were, on the way out for a $400 dollar dinner, no good night, no thank you, no comment at all----for the money the waiter made the night, no one else really did. Note to management, thank your customers, you need them.
Food was delicious (mains: Bison, Sablefish, starters: Lobster roll special and tomato/burrata), waiter was lovely, ambiance was great. They had us in a somewhat sectioned off (and quieter) area which was lovely and seemed to be mostly other anniversaries and birthdays. The only thing that I was not impressed by was the Sommelier, the table next to us provided better recommendations. Seemed the Sommelier was just scanning through and suggesting anything just under $100 ($95, $99, $105) rather than actually giving a recommendation of something we might like based on our tastes. I am capable of reading through a wine list and finding those price points if that was all I was after, what I'm interested in is actual recommendations...
We ended up with a great bottle (as per our table neighbours' recommendation) and it went very well with our food, so everything other than the few minutes we spent with the Sommerlier was fantastic.
Great come back after earlier visit this year. Food is still super and service is top notch. Too bad they don't have seafood bowl now
