Hostess super nice and helpful! Love them!
Third visit to Whistler and this place is the always must dine at restaurant. Love the quality of food and service. Server knows the ingredients to every dish so boyfriend and I could immediately receive answers to our dietary restriction. Presentation of every dish is thought through. But subjectively speaking there’s room for presentation improvements on the mushroom risotto. Nevertheless every dish tastes wonderful, and we are full after the three course menu. Will definitely return.
Always a pleasure dining with you guys. Great food matched with superlative hospitality. Special thanks to Neil H for always making our experience a 12/10.
Went for Father’s Day and my moms birthday! Food was fantastic, accommodated us to sit outside even though our reservation was inside, and our server was patient (we had two kids with us 10yrs and 9 months old)!
Dinner with friends for my birthday. We all had the 3-course special which had choices for each course.
We settled on a lovely wine from Austria which was moderately priced for the bottle.
All dishes were delivered at the same time with friendly and helpful answers to all questions.
Great Food and Service, you have to try the oysters
Holy Black Cod. That dish is exquisite. So is the rest of the food and the service, but wow.. it will knock your socks off. Still the best in Whistler.
We got engaged that day on the mountain and wanted to celebrate. I made a note of our engagement on our reservation, and the staff took note of this. We were seated at a quieter corner of the restaurant where we were able to celebrate our special occasion in a quieter setting. We had the 3-course tasting menu which had normal sized servings of an appetizer, entree, and dessert. To sweeten things at the end, they wished us congratulations on our dessert plate in chocolate writing!
Go to Whistler frequently and have never been to Araxi before. Hand down best fine dining restaurant in Whistler and will be the go to restaurant in future trips. Everything first class especially the server who was excellent
My dad and I had the pleasure of having dinner at Araxi last week when we were visiting Whistler for the first time. It was a very pleasant atmosphere, combined with delicious food and attentive service. I would definitely recommend a visit here.
We had an amazing dinner. Our server was exceptional. The staff were all very welcoming and lovely. Our table did the tasting menu with wine pairings. The food and wine were spectacular. I want to go again tonight!!! Steelhead and chardonnay - oh my!!
There were 3 of us for dinner on Sunday. We all chose the 3 course menu, 2 of us had the tenderloin, and the other chose a carrot risotto. They substituted the meat with carrot without any problem. Our server was amazing. She helped us choose our wine, and made suggestions to help us make decisions! I think her name was Erica. Everything was fabulous and I would highly recommend it to all!
Delicious...love that the menu changes. So we can try new inspirations of the chef.
The food was amazing, the appetizers such as the beet salad hit a new benchmark of excellent - sooo delicious and fresh. We enjoyed everything from the starters to the dessert. The weakest part was only the complimentary bread which had a paper like texture and not a lot of flavour though the butter and EVOO was consistent with otherwise an extraordinary standard of fare.
Once again, Araxi does not disappoint! Service and food were incredible. It gets a bit noisy when it fills up, but it’s a popular Whistler spot, so it’s to be expected. Well worth a splurge!
Amazing restaurant. Such great seafood. Delightful service. One of the best in Whistler.
After 2 years returned to Whistler just to come here. Had a great time. Our server was great. She was warm and professional. Seafood platter was tasty as well as the wine :) We enjoyed the rhubarb dessert too. It was her service that really made our night though. Ended up coming back the next day.
Excellent food !!!!
Delicious wine !!!
I would recommend to have less tables and more quiet dining to make the experience even better.
Lucky enough to be in Whistler in the shoulder season and a lot of restaurants - including Araxi - have a fixed price 3 course menu. At Araxi $49 for a spectacular meal! Service first rate and a wine list that is encyclopedic. We go at least once whenever we are in Whistler.
Loved everything from food to service to the ambience!!
Our 17 year wedding anniversary-we were treated wonderfully by the staff!
Fantastic food. Staff seemed unhappy.
This was definitely our best dinner in Whistler! Each dish was prepared with care, beautiful and excellent quality, delicious and generous portions. Service was superb, location central, wine list and craft beers exceptional. It is NOT inexpensive, but it is excellent and worth the expense.
My wife and I had the anniversary 5 course tasting menu. At $37.00, the value was unbeatable, especially with the freshness of the ingredients and the attention to details in the preparations of each dish. Most of the dishes were very well balanced and pleasing to the palate. There might be a few small issues I could think of. In my opinion, the amount of goat cheese in the heirloom tomato salad was a bit more than required. The tomatoes were not ripe enough, therefore even the Balsamic vinegar could not take the sour taste off. It would be nice too add some roasted beets to the dish to balance out the sweet, sour and savory of the taste profile. Also the chicken was slightly overcooked imho.
In any case it was an excellent dinner for us and we enjoyed it very much
We asked to have our delicious-looking dessert, which consisted of around 8 mini pastries , to go since we were fully satisfied then.
Once we opened the box at home, we were disappointed to see that they had removed half of those that were originally sitting on our tray....
We were celebrating a birthday and that was a big let down for us. Why they did it, we don’t know. We found it very petty...perhaps they were reusing some of them for other customers’ desserts? We do not know!
FYI it was French woman, supposedly to be in charge, who offered to put our dessert in the box to go...make sure to tell her to put them all in case that happens to you!
There is a reason it is one of the best restaurants in Whistler.... and with the shoulder season deal it makes it even better
Araxi is the best fine dining restaurant in Whistler. Of all comparable restaurants in Whistler, Araxi is consistently at the top. We live in Whistler and are familiar with a lot of restaurants.
Service was terrible for a restaurant of this level. Very slow between courses.. But overall food quality was nice.
We had the $37 spring menu special. It was FANTASTIC! Every dish was exquisite and went perfectly well with the suggested wine pairing. We always dine at Araxi when in Whistler. It never disappoints.
Ok..now what I expected. ...............................................
A great dining experience with a fabulous server, Jamie. He helped us pick out a good wine to go with our meal and had great recommendations. The food was of good quality, nicely presented and extremely unique. First restaurant that did not over cook their fish!! Had a wonderful evening on a busy long weekend.
We went for the anniversary 5 course dinner and it was great! Such amazing food at a great price.
Absolutely impeccable. Our server was beyond helpful, kind, and informative. She was attentive and truly made the night a delight. We were more than satisfied with the food: it was incredible and so delicious. Perfect night, thank you so much :)
We feel that Araxis is the best restaurant in Whistler. Everything from service, presentation, flavour to ambiance is excellent.
Food and service are exceptional! We had such a great time from start to finish. Would recommend the tuna tataki, tomato and burrata salad and the carrot risotto (truly amazing). Don’t miss the lemon tart for dessert- best I’ve had! Yum! Thank you for a wonderful night!
Had I only dined here once, I would have given a glowing, overwhelmingly positive review, unfortunately my second dining experience here was mediocre, to the point where I felt compelled to write a review in hopes that the staff will know they can make or break a restaurant. Our first time here, it was the most wonderful dining experience of my life. We tried the mid-season 5-course meal with the recommended wine pairings. It was an amazing dining experience with the best food and our waitress was not your average waitress, no, she was a professional.
However, our second dining experience was sub-par, and more expensive (which was fine, we were there for a fine meal). For whatever reason, our waitress wasn't interested in anything but taking our order. She chatted happily with the folks at the table next to us and asked if they were celebrating anything. They weren't. She'd never asked us, and we were actually in Whistler celebrating a huge milestone in our lives. We wondered if our American accent had anything to do with our poor service, as if it were any different than hers. The table next to us had thick accents. It was all we could think that made the difference. She stood quiet and awkwardly next to us as we signed the check. It was a strange experience and I regret returning here hoping for a similar amazing experience to our first dinner. It may have made the difference that we were dining around 6, rather than later as we had the previous dinner. We'd incorrectly assumed that making reservations and eating before the crowds came in would be better than rolling in with no reservations, hoping to get a table, at 8 o'clock at night as we had the first time.
I hope the restaurant recognizes that the waitstaff can make or break an experience, no matter how good the food was, I only remember being treated like a second-class citizen, while ultimately paying close to $200 for a meal for 2.
Fabulous. Always look forward to dining here when in town. Found the restaurant quite warm so opened a window but had to jam a chopstick under the frame to keep it open a bit. Would be nice if there was hardware to position the windows in the appropriate opening
Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend the anniversary 5 course meal for only $37 available Sunday to Thursday! Incredible value and deliciousness!
By all accounts, this was the concensus fine dine standout. I was impressed to see the reality met and exceeded my expectations. Relative to every meal I've enjoyed in the area, no where has better delivered fine food at such a reasonable price point. The service was personable, unpretentious and personal. A steal at the price.
One of our favorite restaurants. We love how they don’t rush you through courses.
