My wife and I had the anniversary 5 course tasting menu. At $37.00, the value was unbeatable, especially with the freshness of the ingredients and the attention to details in the preparations of each dish. Most of the dishes were very well balanced and pleasing to the palate. There might be a few small issues I could think of. In my opinion, the amount of goat cheese in the heirloom tomato salad was a bit more than required. The tomatoes were not ripe enough, therefore even the Balsamic vinegar could not take the sour taste off. It would be nice too add some roasted beets to the dish to balance out the sweet, sour and savory of the taste profile. Also the chicken was slightly overcooked imho.
In any case it was an excellent dinner for us and we enjoyed it very much
We asked to have our delicious-looking dessert, which consisted of around 8 mini pastries , to go since we were fully satisfied then.
Once we opened the box at home, we were disappointed to see that they had removed half of those that were originally sitting on our tray....
We were celebrating a birthday and that was a big let down for us. Why they did it, we don’t know. We found it very petty...perhaps they were reusing some of them for other customers’ desserts? We do not know!
FYI it was French woman, supposedly to be in charge, who offered to put our dessert in the box to go...make sure to tell her to put them all in case that happens to you!
There is a reason it is one of the best restaurants in Whistler.... and with the shoulder season deal it makes it even better
Service was terrible for a restaurant of this level. Very slow between courses.. But overall food quality was nice.
We had the $37 spring menu special. It was FANTASTIC! Every dish was exquisite and went perfectly well with the suggested wine pairing. We always dine at Araxi when in Whistler. It never disappoints.
Ok..now what I expected. ...............................................
A great dining experience with a fabulous server, Jamie. He helped us pick out a good wine to go with our meal and had great recommendations. The food was of good quality, nicely presented and extremely unique. First restaurant that did not over cook their fish!! Had a wonderful evening on a busy long weekend.
We went for the anniversary 5 course dinner and it was great! Such amazing food at a great price.
Absolutely impeccable. Our server was beyond helpful, kind, and informative. She was attentive and truly made the night a delight. We were more than satisfied with the food: it was incredible and so delicious. Perfect night, thank you so much :)
We feel that Araxis is the best restaurant in Whistler. Everything from service, presentation, flavour to ambiance is excellent.
Food and service are exceptional! We had such a great time from start to finish. Would recommend the tuna tataki, tomato and burrata salad and the carrot risotto (truly amazing). Don’t miss the lemon tart for dessert- best I’ve had! Yum! Thank you for a wonderful night!
Had I only dined here once, I would have given a glowing, overwhelmingly positive review, unfortunately my second dining experience here was mediocre, to the point where I felt compelled to write a review in hopes that the staff will know they can make or break a restaurant. Our first time here, it was the most wonderful dining experience of my life. We tried the mid-season 5-course meal with the recommended wine pairings. It was an amazing dining experience with the best food and our waitress was not your average waitress, no, she was a professional.
However, our second dining experience was sub-par, and more expensive (which was fine, we were there for a fine meal). For whatever reason, our waitress wasn't interested in anything but taking our order. She chatted happily with the folks at the table next to us and asked if they were celebrating anything. They weren't. She'd never asked us, and we were actually in Whistler celebrating a huge milestone in our lives. We wondered if our American accent had anything to do with our poor service, as if it were any different than hers. The table next to us had thick accents. It was all we could think that made the difference. She stood quiet and awkwardly next to us as we signed the check. It was a strange experience and I regret returning here hoping for a similar amazing experience to our first dinner. It may have made the difference that we were dining around 6, rather than later as we had the previous dinner. We'd incorrectly assumed that making reservations and eating before the crowds came in would be better than rolling in with no reservations, hoping to get a table, at 8 o'clock at night as we had the first time.
I hope the restaurant recognizes that the waitstaff can make or break an experience, no matter how good the food was, I only remember being treated like a second-class citizen, while ultimately paying close to $200 for a meal for 2.
Fabulous. Always look forward to dining here when in town. Found the restaurant quite warm so opened a window but had to jam a chopstick under the frame to keep it open a bit. Would be nice if there was hardware to position the windows in the appropriate opening
Fantastic food and service. Highly recommend the anniversary 5 course meal for only $37 available Sunday to Thursday! Incredible value and deliciousness!
By all accounts, this was the concensus fine dine standout. I was impressed to see the reality met and exceeded my expectations. Relative to every meal I've enjoyed in the area, no where has better delivered fine food at such a reasonable price point. The service was personable, unpretentious and personal. A steal at the price.
One of our favorite restaurants. We love how they don’t rush you through courses.
The food was delicious. The service was excellent and fast. Good value as they were having an Anniversary Special for $37 for a 5 course meal.
Such a great place. Consistently wonderful, even when they have the special menu. Tasty, organic, superb. Great service, too. BEST IN WHISTLER
Took advantage of the 5-course meaal deal. Was delicious and well worth it. Not much selection if you are vegetarian, though.
A bit noisy and the table are too close to each other
The top table group restaurants are the best of Vancouver/Whistler.
First time at Araxi and probably not the last. Enjoyed their spring tasting special. Very good value for $37. The carrot soup was creamy and light. Husband had the steak as his main. Not a large portion but he said it was cooked to perfection. I had the ling cod, it was delicate and filling. A little disappointed with the rhubarb dessert ( only 3 small pieces) so I’ll try something different next time. Lots of servers and the restaurant was very busy for a Thursday.
The service is excellent, as is the food. It was the first time there for our guests, and they loved it!
We go to Araxi relatively often and the food is always amazing! This time we had the 5 course and enjoyed every one of them
We have been fortunate to have enjoyed Araxi Anniversary Meals and have not been disappointed in the last couple of years. This is a wonderful dining experience for the every day couple, a taste of fine food and etiquette everyone should try.
The mushroom pasta we had was soupy, the sable fish was good, the service was ok but not top notch, maybe my expectation was too high? But for this kind of high end restaurant and the price, I really hope they can do better.
Araxi is a the place to go!! Amazing service, delicious food, top notch all the way. Staff that make you feel special and taken care of as soon as you walk through the doors.
Our server was outstanding. Always our fav spot
Great food and service in a great location. Really enjoyed all our food and the service at this place
Make a reservation and you won't be disappointed. Great drinks, food and staff
We had the anniversary special. Enjoyed the wine pairings option with the meal.
You shouldn't leave whistler without visiting Araxi. The food is beautiful and the service is over the top
We had dinner last night in Araxi and today's dinner experience is terrible compared to the service last night, the lady serving our table didn't meantion the special prawn cocktail course subsubition available and when i heard the lady helping the table next to me talking about this, i immediately asked my server if it is available and she said yeah and just walk away without asking if we want it substitute on whose second course, and then she came back to take away the chopstick so she just assumed that whoever's asking about the substation then that's the one who want to replace it, but we both want the shrimp cocktail so i have to tell her again then we both want to replace the original order with the shrimp cocktail, and the response from her was cold and she did not even feel that she need to apologize for not mentioning about the substitution available and the behavior on the serving table is not as friendly or nice at all, she should be having this kind of behavior in the more casual restaurants like Earls or food court, but not Araxi, overall, we're not satisfied about her service at all, even though the food in Araxi have always been the reason that we come to Whistler every time
Wanted to return to this restaurant since the first visit last Summer. The service, food, and decors remain outstanding. Worth mentioning is the flexibility (courtesy) the kitchen gave when I suddenly remembered that I wanted an unwritten main course. The duck main course, available but not printed on the anniversary menu. At the time of placing order I have simply forgotten because it isn't on the menu. The waitress is wonderful to inquire the kitchen, and the kitchen is terrific in doing the switch. Of course all this happened before first course is served. And the food tasted wonderful! Will be back with family and friends.
Had a great experience. Unfortunately, again the hosts at front of house aren’t very welcoming. Their menu changes often and they do push their course menu, but will accommodate a seafood tower if you wish. Beautiful restaurant and good service. Great tasting food prepared right.
Great night out.
Outstanding Service, received everything I asked for in order to celebrate my wifes birthday with grace. Arisa was fantastic, to the letter.
Phenomenal service, Arisa was very attentive. Recommend for any setting or occasion.
My husband and I went to Araxi to celebrate our 6th anniversary. They had a 5 course menu on for $37. The food was incredible and such great value for the cost. The Arctic char was cooked perfectly! Cocktails were delicious and the service was excellent. We arrived early so we sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited for our table. It was so comfortable at the bar we decided to stay there for the whole evening. Thanks Araxi for a memorable evening!
Great food. Great choices of wines for pairing. Portions plentiful. Was served by Alana, such a sweetheart
