Great venue. Great service and the food was delicious. Will be back for sure. Wine list was small and limited to just so so wines - but we found one we enjoyed.
The food tasted fantastic and arrived quickly. The server was attentive and friendly. This is a great spot for Italian food in the distillery district.
Stick with the pasta. Had the duck and it was way undercooked and not edible
When a Server came up to take our order, we asked if there was a cocktail menu. He said he wasn't familiar with the menu as he just helping out and was not usual staff and that he would send someone over to take our drink order. After a while trying get someone's attention we finally got a cocktail menu. But things were already downhill at this point. The cocktails were no up to scratch. We ordered the ravioli, lobster pasta and pasta bolognese. The lobster pasta was good. I would avoid the rest. The price point does not match the quality of food. I would give this place a miss. They should have closed on Christmas eve rather than staying open and giving customers poor service.
Great service. Food is delicious and bursting with flavors. However, don’t go hungry; portion sizes are bite-sized not a whole lot of value for what you pay.
We were greeted by a very rude person at the front door, who scolded my friend for getting the time wrong (we were on time, she accidentally said the wrong time by 15 minutes and he got upset with her). If this place hadn't been the only restaurant without a 45 min wait in the christmas market area (it was empty aside from a few tables, we would have left right there). It is 'dressed up' like a classy joint, but I had to ask the waitress for a glass to put my beer in as she only put down the bottle and walked away. I also had to ask the second time as a fruit fly died in my first drink. Service was poor but the food was ok. Would not recommend regardless due to rude staff. It also wasn't a fun place, wasn't busy at what should have been the busiest time of the year (christmas market on the Saturday before christmas)
Very disappointed with the food. SMALL servings. Raviolio was poor (really no taste) as well Piadini Vitello was also mediocre. Spaghetti and meatballs were good.
Overall a celebratory meal turned into quite a let down, all due to the food.
We had a reservation for 3. We arrived an hour early as we were in the vicinity. They went out of their way to accommodate us. As a party of 5 vegetarians having a server who could recommend vegetarian options was a bonus. The egg plant soup is a must have!
Our waitress was friendly and sweet. The food was great! Might be helpful to tell people making reservations that they dont have to wait in the Christmas Market line.
Excellent, attentive service. Special thanks to Caroline. Quiet table was paramount; only thing is, that's where it feels a bit chilly every time the door opens. Quick recovery, though. Can't have everything! Located in historic Distillery District. Near theatre and new streetcar line: new loop, new streetcars.
Perfect comfort food meal on a damp day in the Distillery District. Service was great, food even better and very reasonable. Would definitely try this place again.
Overall very pleasant. A little on the noisy side.... but not too bad.
We were surprised at the quality. Our expectations were just so-so based on website and such, but good service and great food. We remarked that it was a dining experience in which each dish yielded very distinct flavors and textures. Some were familiar and some were surprises but none were boring or wishy washy or sloppy. And serving sizes small enough to feel just right in terms of how much one ate over a few courses. Noise level when we were there was excellent but it was very uncrowded due to Christmas Market Toronto people who made reservations to get free entry but then did not show for dinner (people, I can't believe you'd do that). Given the shape of the space, it might be much louder when full.
Disappointed with my luncheon choice of farfalle with mushrooms. My guest and I ordered the same meal although my portion was noticeably smaller. Farfalle also were undercooked in the centre. A portion of bread with the meal would have been welcome.
Lovely place in the heart of the distillery district. Authentic menu, delightful server, very nice wine. Booked online which asked if it was a special occasion and if i had a specific request. Answered yes to both with details but neither were honored which was disappointing. Nice evening otherwise.
Not enough food quantity on their apps for the price you pay. Selection was dismal.
Have been to Archeo over the years but with this recent experience, the food, notably the ravioli, which I had been looking forward to, was very disappointing. It was though it had been cooked and then after, fried in butter or oil and it was not tasty.
A good meeting place, wine and drinks pricey ... food ok. Service great.
If you want to pay a regular amount of money for a meal that is made for a squirrel, feel free to visit. Otherwise, save your money.
My meal was not very appetizing. - in fact, it was the most bizarre restaurant meal I have ever had. Our Antipasto was also the most unappetizing I've ever had.
The service was very slow, and there were only about 4 other tables in that night.
Although, they were VERY pleasant when they were at the table! They went over and above to try to fix the fact that I didn't enjoy my meal (I believe it was more my taste buds than that the food was bad - but it was a bizarre combination of ingredients, that didn't work well together.).
Would I recommend it? No, likely not.
Food was quite tasty. Wonderful atmosphere. Service was solid except the greeter who seemed a bit grumpy. Will go back.
Great space for events - great atmosphere
Outdoor seating on a pleasant night under the stars with ample lighting from the strings of lights overhead. Although the entree portions were ‘continental,’ not ‘American,’ there was plenty and we were satisfied. The wine list was respectably long and we enjoyed our second choice; the local red was rather lighter than a Pinot and not the full body we preferred. The salads were delectable with just enough dressing and shaved Parmesan to enhance, not drown. Three of us had the pasta bolognese and it was very flavorful. Although this was an unusually quiet night with only 4-5 tables occupied, the kitchen and the service did not disappoint.
Wonderful. Wait staff very attentive and personable. Food was very good went for anniversary and they supplied complimentary champagne for us to celebrate
The staff is lovely and perfectly hospitable. The food is mostly good. Their meats stand out
Very nice restaurant. Went for the Summerlicious special which includes appetizer, main and dessert. The drinks were super expensive.
Great Ambiance. Food was unique. friendly staff. We had a nice Saturday afternoon lunch and explored the Distillery District.
Great spot to come with friends or on a date. Awesome food, good vibe. Beautiful restaurant and patio. Perfect for a summer afternoon.
Our server went out of his way to explain each menu choice for the Summerlicious lunch
Terrific venue and beautiful garden !!
Excellent food in a lovely, quiet outdoor patio setting. I highly recommend Archeo!
The food was delicious and the staff superb! Can't wait to go again! I've waited two years to go (so many weddings there, and I see why!) and it was worth it!!
Due to a few large parties that were there on a Tuesday, we were told dinner would be take longer than usual but our waiter Stephen was quick to accommodate by bringing our drinks and some bread so we could start noshing. When food came, dishes were smaller than usual (Summerlicious portions) but inventive and tasty. The pace was good so we could enjoy each course. Great ambiance.
We went for Summerlicious and thought the food was excellent with the exception of the panna cota which looked and tasted like sweet yogurt with granola on top. We ordered a drink and suggested we not get our food immediately as we wished to take our time and enjoy the drink. However our salads arrived immediately. We did manage to have the waiter tell the kitchen to not prepare our fish until we gave the go ahead. This was followed with the result the pickerel was perfectly done. We waited a long time for our desserts. Without any complaint from us, the waiter said when he brought our bill that they had credited the glass of wine due to the long wait for dessert. We were very impressed by this as we had not complained. Our waiter was friendly and so I don't believe any of these minor issues were of his making.
My fiance and I decided to try lunch at Archeo as we have been considering a wedding at this location. We loved the vibe and rustic decor. The food was delicious and my inner Remy from Ratatouille was happy!
To top it off, the restaurant was actually hosting a wedding and we happened to see the bride and groom. The bride told me that her experience so far had been exquisite and she was quite happy. I wish both of them all the best!
Archeo is a serious front runner for our special day!
Made a reservation here on opentable for summerlicious for July 13th. This reservation was made on July 7th, on July 12th I received an email from OpenTable to confirm my attendance and I confirmed. On July 13th, I arrived with my party of 6 for a business lunch to see that it was closed for a private event.
The hostess checked and could see my reservation, however due to the event we were not seated or served.
This was unprofessional and reflected poorly on me to my colleagues. Archeo that should have blocked off the period on open table since it was for a private event, or at least sent a follow up email showing the time was unavailable. Incredibly unimpressed by this service, was excited to try out the location, will not be giving it another shot.
We went for summerlicious and the food was AMAZING. I highly recommend the flat iron steak and the raviolo. The patio was also great. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and our server Steven made it even more enjoyable. Will be back soon!!
my friend's food was good, mine was hugely salty and had a taste I didn't appreciate. I refused their offer to re-cook and they didn't charge for my meal, which was fair.
This was my fifth time at Archeo and I can’t get enough. Usually I am an extremely picky eater and have to order my meals specialized everywhere I go. At Archeo the chefs prepare the food in a way that you know everything on the plate is there for a reason. Great staff, great atmosphere, and most of all great food
The food was
Very good evening. Beautiful and historic building. Great service. Only negative was that the lamb appetizer was tough.
