Contemporary American
Artisan Bistro is a modern and inviting dining room dressed in rich dark and light woods with elegant European design elements. Accents of black, off-white, cognac, blues and warm grays echo a classic bistro look and feel. Crafted wood wainscoting throughout the room and soft ambient lighting from above highlight the white-washed, wood floors to further enhance the bistro-like setting. New stitched-leather booth seating lines the dramatic floor to ceiling wall of windows overlooking Avery Street and two high-top u-shaped booths frame the space on either end. Additional cluster seating is intimate and close, allowing for easy conversation and lively exchange. Artisan Bistro features fresh, local seasonal dishes that present artisanal cooking in an approachable way.

The wait staff were very attentive and the food arrived in a timely manner. The price of drinks was a bit higher than expected ($25 for a vodka martini and $23 per glass for house wine.)

Very good service. We didn’t have much time since we were going to the theatre and our waiter was attentive to that. We liked the 2 person table we had. Only complaint is that single glasses of wine are crazy expensive! A glass of Whispering Angel rose at $24 is as much as a store bought bottle.

This is the second time I went to Artisan Bistro in the past 3 months. Their menu is short, with limited choice, which is fine as long as the food is tasty. The first time it was ok, though not spectacular. Last night, however, the Blue crab BLTs we got were disappointing: the crab meat had no flavor, though the portion was generous. There are only three extra sides: truffled fries, spinach, and Brussels sprouts. I ordered the fries and sprouts only to be told soon after they had no Brussels sprout... out of three sides they only had two!? The service was lackadaisical if not slightly rude. The price was steep for what we got. I will not go there any longer or recommend it to others. A pity, given the location, the ambience (the place was practically empty at 8:15 pm, so quiet and good for conversation), and potential. I guess it's just a hotel's restaurant.... so not a culinary destination. Hope they can improve.

I had made 6 PM reservations and told the hostess as well as our waiter upon seated that we had ballet tickets for 7:30 PM that evening. We ordered fairly quickly upon seated, but were unfortunately not served our food until 7:05. We were not able to enjoy our food as we had to have most of it bagged up to go, as well as we wasted the bottle of wine that we had ordered. In addition, the burger was quite rare. Very disappointing for not having dined here in quite some time

Ordered the Osso Buco which was almost all fat and gristle considering the price was so high. Not good at all. Surprisingly bad for a Ritz Carlton.

Ordered the burger medium well, served medium rare. My husband ate it, we were going to theater, and didn’t have time to send it back. The fries were good though. Also they should have a larger selection of wines by the glass. The Pino Grigio was pretty bad. The bar was nice, bartender friendly, although he had no idea how to pour a Guinness draft. Nice ambiance.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. The mixed drink list was very limted, but they have a full bar. Location is perfect for shows in the theater district. I have been there a few times and the menu changes frequently, small but lots of tasty choices.
