We love food. We love wine. We love racing. So we named Ascari Enoteca after one of our heroes, 1950's Italian racing legend, Alberto Ascari. He was as famous for his appetite for food and wine as he was for his talent for racing, earning him the nickname "ciccio" – Italian for 'chubby'. Here you'll find homemade pastas made fresh in house every single day, plus a unique wine list.

Ascari has been awarded one of Canada's Neighbourhood Gems by OpenTable and Best Italian Restaurant in Now Magazine. We look forward to hosting you!

Service was much better on our first visit. This time there was a long wait to place our drink order, a long wait to place our food order and then the pasta in one of the dishes was over-cooked rendering it mushy. There was also very minimal checkin about our meal from our server. The chicken liver crostini and rabbit pasta were delicious and perfectly executed through.

Food is good, price is reasonable and the waiters are "awesome."
They should deserve much more tips :)

Another excellent meal and wonderful experience. Great, warm and knowledgeable service, and as good an Italian-inspired meal as any we had in Italy last year. A neighbourhood fave!

Went for dinner with the gf, great wine list, great beers from Burdock, real tasty food and our server behind the bar was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. Portions could be a tad larger though. Great place for a night out!

The food, service, and Wine list were great. I found the tables were way to close together for my liking, I personally just don't enjoy sitting so close to others while trying to have a special dinner with my wife, especially when you're next to someone that talks very loud. If you're not bothered by this, it's my pet peave, than this place is great. Service and food were awesome.

Awesome establishment. Seated right away. Staff was helpful. Excellent lamb spiducci! Ordered a 2nd round after we annihilated the first serving. The pasta was unbelievably good! Will be back.

Thank you for a truly wonderful evening. We were six, four from out of town. They absolutely loved Ascari, as we do, for all the right reasons. Adrianne, our server, was the best. The food and wine was fabulous, the ambiance perfect. It was a very memorable night. Grazie, Ascari!

Great food, service, wine... all perfect except it gets really noisy when the place fills up!! Hard to chat when you’re shouting. Otherwise perfection.

Ascari has become my new favourite restaurant. I dine often with clients and Ascari is a perfect mix of casual neighbourhood vibe with impeccable food and service. I love it and having Adrienne enthusiastically welcome me is just the best.

ASCARI offers as authentic a menu as I can remember but uses them in creative new fashion. The carpaccio is wonderful as are the aranccini, but the star is their pasta dish. rare is it to find rabbit on the menu in this city and their homemade pappardelle with rabbit, cabbage and in a deglazed white wine sauce was excellent, same with the agnolotti stuffed with buffalo mozzarella, lemon, summer grean beans - such unique flavour combinations....the place hops on Monday nights because it's HALF PRICE BOTTLE NIGHT, a well thought out wine list with unique and rare Italian wines from all over the country....great congenial service , and a non's kitchen feeling that permeates the room

Very noisy. Couldn't hear oneself think! My wife had to send her main course back as it was dry and the pasta seemed to have been cooked ages before it was served. The server did know her Italian digestivi well and was very attentive throughout the meal.

The food was amazing. Full stop.

The ambience was great, the servers were very attentive and the wine selection was generous.

As a small recommendation, I would suggest adding some full bodied reds to the wine selection (my personal favourites).

Overall, the evening was magical.

Casual get-together coincided with 1/2 price wine, so we were able to get a very nice bottle at regular spend. It's a bit disconcerting to be told that you have to leave at 8:30 p.m. when you are still spending money, but I guess that's the price you pay for 1/2 price wine. Maybe that's why I thought the service was just good.

Everything about this neighbourhood gem is outstanding - food, service and ambience. We went on a Monday night and it was packed, for good reason. It's not too often that you can go somewhere and know that the service and food will consistently be great; but it is here.

Researched Ascari online and was pleasantly surprised to find that they make their own pasta daily. We started with olives, bread, and rice balls. All were tasty, but nothing notable. The lamb pasta was delicious, as was the ricotta agnolotti. We were too full for dessert. While I was not familiar with any of the red wines on the list, our server was great at recommending a bottle that we enjoyed. I would definitely return for another meal.

excellent food, good atmosphere, good service. My only complaint was that the portions were very, very small, and within a few hours, I was starving. For the price, I expected more food.

This was our first visit after passing by many times and we sure are happy we decided to make reservations! The restaurant is quite small, but this ensures that service is impeccable! The service is phenomenal - our server was endearing and knowledgeable and really made the experience for us. We tried the chicken liver mousse, the fried broccolini and the salumi appetizers. The mousse and broccolini were STANDOUTS that should not be missed. We also ate the carbonara which I would tentatively call the best in the city. Do not miss this place. It surely is a neighbourhood gem!

This was our first trip to Ascarinand to celebrate my husbands birthday and we most definitely were not disappointed. We shared a pate dish which was so delicious it was like having a dessert. We followed that with the Carbonara and it was impeccable!

Our server Ryan recommended a delicious bottle of wine and he was so incredibly friendly.

We can't wait to go back event though it is quite the trek from our home. Worth the trip!!

The food was delicious! I'm always in search of the best carbonara. Many restaurants just serve a cream sauce, but at Ascari Enoteca, it's the real deal with the egg yolk. It's a must-have!
