We love food. We love wine. We love racing. So we named Ascari Enoteca after one of our heroes, 1950's Italian racing legend, Alberto Ascari. He was as famous for his appetite for food and wine as he was for his talent for racing, earning him the nickname "ciccio" – Italian for 'chubby'. Here you'll find homemade pastas made fresh in house every single day, plus a unique wine list.

Ascari has been awarded one of Canada's Neighbourhood Gems by OpenTable and Best Italian Restaurant in Now Magazine. We look forward to hosting you!

Casual get-together coincided with 1/2 price wine, so we were able to get a very nice bottle at regular spend. It's a bit disconcerting to be told that you have to leave at 8:30 p.m. when you are still spending money, but I guess that's the price you pay for 1/2 price wine. Maybe that's why I thought the service was just good.

This was our second visit to this restaurant. The dishes are creative and simply delicious. The restaurant is small and a little cramped and noisy. They have a good selection of wines and the service is friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

Ascari never fails us with it's great food and always friendly and inviting service. Great wine list and a menu that everyone can order from...even our young kids! We've been dining there for years and still love it!

Everything about this neighbourhood gem is outstanding - food, service and ambience. We went on a Monday night and it was packed, for good reason. It's not too often that you can go somewhere and know that the service and food will consistently be great; but it is here.

Researched Ascari online and was pleasantly surprised to find that they make their own pasta daily. We started with olives, bread, and rice balls. All were tasty, but nothing notable. The lamb pasta was delicious, as was the ricotta agnolotti. We were too full for dessert. While I was not familiar with any of the red wines on the list, our server was great at recommending a bottle that we enjoyed. I would definitely return for another meal.

excellent food, good atmosphere, good service. My only complaint was that the portions were very, very small, and within a few hours, I was starving. For the price, I expected more food.

This was our first visit after passing by many times and we sure are happy we decided to make reservations! The restaurant is quite small, but this ensures that service is impeccable! The service is phenomenal - our server was endearing and knowledgeable and really made the experience for us. We tried the chicken liver mousse, the fried broccolini and the salumi appetizers. The mousse and broccolini were STANDOUTS that should not be missed. We also ate the carbonara which I would tentatively call the best in the city. Do not miss this place. It surely is a neighbourhood gem!

Had a great dinner here Saturday night. Brussels sprout appetizer, awesome roasted peach salad, linguine with clams and a great spaghetti carbonara. Really good Burdock IPA and a nice Soave. Will be back!

This was our first trip to Ascarinand to celebrate my husbands birthday and we most definitely were not disappointed. We shared a pate dish which was so delicious it was like having a dessert. We followed that with the Carbonara and it was impeccable!

Our server Ryan recommended a delicious bottle of wine and he was so incredibly friendly.

We can't wait to go back event though it is quite the trek from our home. Worth the trip!!

The food was delicious! I'm always in search of the best carbonara. Many restaurants just serve a cream sauce, but at Ascari Enoteca, it's the real deal with the egg yolk. It's a must-have!

Food was great however we were really disappointed in the wine. I tried 4 different reds and all were weak and overpriced in comparison to what's on the market. Service was ok, took a long time to order our meal, once we did however the food was served quite quickly.

Great food, full of flavour. The service was impressive too. Only downfall, the restaurant was very hot. It was 29 degrees outside, and easily 27 inside. It made for an uncomfortable dining experience, but none the less the food and service were great!

Best experience we have had at a restaurant in a long time. Rob F

Had a wonderful time at our first visit to Ascari Enoteca. I had indicated that we were there for an anniversary dinner, and our thoughtful server brought us each a glass of sparkling to start off our dinner. The food was excellent - we had the arancini and shaved brussels to start, followed by the Agnolotti and the Tagliatelle con Agnello (so delicious!). Our server was extremely attentive and helped make our anniversary dinner that much more wonderful.

We had a lovely meal. The menu is simple, but thoughtful.

I had the burrata to start, which was creamy and delicious. My partner had the carpaccio, which he enjoyed thoroughly. The bread was only OK.

For our main dish, two of us had the carbonara, which was just the right texture and a good balance of flavours and textures. My partner had the lamb tagliatelle, which he loved.

I love it there but felt very rushed by the server. I had not seen my friend in years and the server repeatedly asked us if we knew what we were ordering when it was obvious that we hadn't looked at menu and were enjoying our drinks, catching up. Then the first couple we came within moments of ordering.

The pasta was delicious as was the broccoli appetizer but the Burrata was served over leeks that were soggy and unappealing. Disappointing dish that lacked fresh flavour. It looked like it was the dark green parts of the leeks that was served as well.

I will still go back because the homemade pasta is divine and the restaurant is in my hood. I understand the need to turn over tables in a small restaurant but it was a bit much the way we were repeatedly questioned. It bordered on rude.
