My husband and I chose to dine on the quaint street-side patio because the night was so lovely. We could hear live music being performed nearby which added to the ambiance. Our server was very good and brought delicious bread for dipping in oil and vinegar. We ordered a pitcher of Steam Whistle, arancini balls and the margarita pizza to split. It was all really good. The pizza crust is incredibly thin, just the way I like it. Our server brought over some hot chili peppers in oil and this gave the pizza just the right amount of kick. Overall, this was a very enjoyable dinner.
Calamari was good but on the cold side. Mains took a long time to arrive, chicken in salad was cold, dry and completely plain. Pizzas were good.
We have regularly eaten at Atomica while living in Kingston. We were in town and wanted to try their new vegan dishes. We were very impressed. Their food is always good, and these new plant-based items are no exception. These are dishes that would appeal to anyone, not just plant-based diners. Service is always friendly and our visit today was no exception. Their pizzas are among the best in town and you need to put them in your mouth.
Great food. Attentive and knowledgeable wait staff. Would recommend. On all counts.
Usually love the pizza here. This time both our pizzas were badly burned. We should have sent them back but it was very busy and we could not wait much longer than we already had done. The caesar salad was very good. Disapponiting as I had brougt family from out of town.
Maybe it was an off day - most of the dishes we ordered were quite tasty. But the paella could only be described as "bad" and food service was only ok. Customer service was good though - I mentioned the paella was quite poor and without asking, it was taken off the bill. I'd give it another chance!
We were disappointed with slowness of service and taste of food. Of the 2 mains we ordered, we would not order them again. Our friends' pizzas looked fine, the caesar salad was good too. Of the people who had never been to Atomica, they didn't think they would return again. Too noisy for conversation although the ambience was nice, food took long to appear, and 2 of us didn't like our mains though we had been there many times before. (We tried something new and did not like!) The whole place looked like it was well worn, and needed a bit of an update.
Atomica pizza is so good, great heat. Staff friendly and food fast!
Haven't been to Atomica for a while and I think it has improved in the interim. The menu has changed and included some interesting additions , like the paella. (Delicious by the way). Pizzas are inventive, e.g. grilled peach and ricotta and the thin oven-fired crust is perfect. Do not miss out on the Pear Sangria - lovely!
Menu has changed recently, waited nearly 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Pizza was under cooked and scarce on toppings. Disappointed and not what I expect from Atomica.
My friends and I went for its vegan menu. We were somewhat disappointed to see the Knifey and Spooney vegan menu gone. We appreciate that there's a new "plant-based menu", but it is shorter and the new dishes are not as delicious.
As most kingston restaurants these days the noise level is far too high. There is no need for background music, guests go to visit with each other, not listen to any kind of music, good or bad. One has to shout one;s head off most of the meal . Who cares about these mediocre bands anyway.
Enjoy the food and service but can do without the noise!
Great food with great company. Moved tables due to noise but was still noisy. Still enjoyed!
For some reason the staff said they did not have my open table reservation even though I had an email confirmation and had phoned to confirm on the same day. Service was very slow even though it was early with only a few customers. The poor waitress was trying to wait tables and seat people while the hostess was busy socializing. We had to ask 3 times to have some water and a drink order taken. All of this was very disappointing at the front end of the meal.
Atomica is always fun & you can rely on consistent really good food.
The food was GREAT! But we had a booth and our husbands are over 6' tall. It was like they were sitting at some kid's tea party table. The booth seating was not comfortable. It was a Wednesday night and the place was very loud. It was difficult to have a conversation ourselves without raising our voices. Not ideal for a quiet evening to catch up with friends.
From my daughter.."Location is great, nice outdoor seating. The food is pretty darn good it's a little pricey for university students but it was our last night in Kingston - a celebration for finishing another year at Queen's".
Awful! Worst pizza ever. I had heard this place was very good so I was excited that we finally managed to get a reservation. What a let down. Margharita pizza was actually gross. Stale tasting crust, canned tomato sauce and non-existent cheese. Even chili oil didn’t help. Go to Wooden Heads or Score Pizza instead!
No vegan cheese !! Was only told after I ordered.
Like the spot a lot but the service really ruined it for us. Over 20 minutes to get an iced tea! And it wasn’t even crowded.
Upon arrival there was some concerns over online reservation system and our birthday dinner table was along a tiny wall in high traffic area. Restaurant is quite loud with background music. No utensils at table, long wait for food and no follow up from the waitress during our meal. Food was tasty but not served hot! Some gluten free options and the pasta was well prepared. A chaotic atmosphere and the busboy handed us a used bread basket and omitted to provide any condiments, until we asked.
We went to Atomica for my sisters birthday with some friends. The table was ready for us and everything was great! Each couple got their own bill which was flawless and the pitcher of sangria was equal split on our bills. It was a full house but service remained wonderful!
Good food and friendly staff. However service was rather slow. It was unexpectedly busy despite a bad ice storm outside and they may have understaffed expecting low turnout. Pizzas went over well, but pasta portions were rather small for a main course.
On the whole very positive.
Albeit we’ve eaten at Atomica many times, they never cease to impress. They offer truly authentic Italian cuisine while still catering to unique diets, restrictions and allergies. My husband and I have a laundry list of allergies and restrictions, so it’s great to have a local spot, with high standards, creative genius and authentic cuisine. Their gluten free- dairy free pizza is actually amazing... which is rare!
I try to fit in a meal here every time I’m in Kingston. Love the food!
Found this place by fluke as everything seemed unavailable for the time frame our group was looking for. So glad we ended up here though! The food quality and taste was amazing. Not a great deal of selection but what they do offer they seem to have perfected. The pizzas are large enough to share between two or mix up a few. Cocktail and drink selection was great. Desserts were delicious. Our group ended up doing it all because each thing we tried was so good. Also we never felt rushed to hurry up and finish. Staff was extremely friendly. Ended up spending over 2hrs here which was not the initial intention. I HIGHLY recommend reservstions. It's definitely a hot spot on a Saturday. Its also relatively small so be prepared to maybe hear your neighbours conversation. We all got a couple drinks, an app, main course and dessert. Average bills were between 50.00 and 70.00, which for everything we got was resonable. The only complaint I have is that their pasta portion seemed quite small for the price of it, but it was amazing. No complaints for this girls night out!!!
Great restaurant for lunch or dinner, I have done both. Upbeat modern atmosphere with great selection, fresh and tasty food. Love the white sangria and must try appetizer the Arancini (risotto with mozzarella balls) yummy. Our waiter was wonderful, excellent service!
Just here to enjoy a family lunch prior to a Spring recital. Nice atmosphere and food was delicious. I had the Margherita pizza with mixed green salad. Our server was really personable and great!
Pretty good food, food sangria and good service
We went for their new vegan menu. It did not disappoint, delicious!
4 of us for late lunch shared a large Caesar, bottle of wine, and each of us had a pizza. A bit cramped in a booth for 4 (no where to hang your coat) but service was good. Pizza wasn't as warm/hot as I'd like but overall good experience
We sat at the bar (all the was available when we booked) and it was still very comfortable and the service was excellent. Great pizzas and an amazing caesar salad. My friend got the gluten free crust and loved it.
I've been here on many occasions for "just a night out" and your gluten-free pizza. However I think you must have changed the recipe for the gluten-free crust as it was sub-par compared to past. Also, to charge $1 - $2/person as a service charge for a birthday celebration piece of cake (which we brought for the occasion as it was gluten-free) was outrageous. Thus half the celebration was completed elsewhere where we had our cake and a drink at another location that allowed us to do this. Would definitely no longer recommend this to any gluten-free individiuals or groups looking to hold a celebration. Also 1/2 the table were burning there legs on a heater under the table and the other half cold. We finally had to ask for the heat to be turned down and the other side put their sweaters/coats on. Was not a great night at your location.
This dining experience was spectacular! Exquisite food and service and delectable variety and choice. Yum!!!
Delicious food. Separate vegan menu with a lot of choices. Very large selection of wines and some unique cocktails. Will be going back!
The food was okay. Not worth the price, good thing we had a gift card. We were seated right next to the hot pizza oven and the stairs that lead to the kitchen (we had to keep an eye out for wait staff coming through with hot plates as we were almost hit a couple of times—- not really a great way to have a romantic evening) and washrooms so people kept bumping into our table. I don’t think we will be dining here again.
Excellent service. Accommodated our big group with a late reservation in a private table.
The food and drinks were good, but they were a bit understaffed, and we were seated 15 minutes after our schedule reservation time. Overall still a good experience.
This is my favourite spot when visiting from out of town. Found the seating really cramped, but the food is very tasty and enjoyable. Always recommend for a special night out!
