The original jewel in the Oliver & Bonacini crown and a North Toronto icon, Auberge du Pommier has been serving guests since 1987. Constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860’s woodcutters’ cottages, Auberge du Pommier combines country charm with contemporary sophistication and style. Featuring wood burning fireplaces in winter and lush, floral terraces in summer, it is a welcoming, refined retreat from the city. Led by Executive Chef John Horne , Auberge du Pommier is defining contemporary French cooking in Canada. The cuisine honours both the refined techniques and rustic styles of classic French fare, with an innovative North American accent. Auberge du Pommier is routinely ranked among Joanne Kates’ Top 100 Restaurants, and was awarded a five-star rating by Toronto Life magazine in 2016.

Everything about Auberge du Pommier is elegant. The ding rooms in this historic venue are lovely, the service is friendly but refined and the food is always beautifully presented and delicious. Our recent visit was on the last day of Summerilicious. Still the team at Auberge managed to uphold these standards. Our party of four chose different dishes from the abbreviated menu and we were all delighted with our selections. The sommelier recommended a perfect bubbly to celebrate our special occasion. And desserts were divine. As a regular customer, I don’t generally look forward to the crowds or menu restrictions that typically accompany Summerlicious but our experience at Auberge du Pommier was perfect.

The entrees were disappointing. Appetizers and desserts were fine but not exceptional.

Food and service was average. Our server mixed our order twice. The Summerlicious soup was oversalted and I could not eat it at all. The wine that we ordered was not available and they offered us a more expensive version... We came to celebrate my partner's birthday and were very disappointed.

My wife and I took my sister to summerlicious as a birthday treat. Staff were attentive and we appreciated that staff put a birthday candle on her desert.

However, my flatiron steak was almost tasteless, as was my wife's tuna. That said, the salad was tasty and my sister enjoyed her glass of wine.

When we first arrived, with reservations made the previous week, we were told there was no table available and we would have to wait. When we were seated, it was at the worst table next to the kitchen. There was frosted glass beside our heads and someone kept knocking something a few times. It was so loud we joked about knocking back. There was also noise from breaking glass and general kitchen noise throughout the meal. It was so busy with the wait staff coming and going, that it detracted from our experience. We looked around after the meal and the rest of the restaurant looked nice. We did enjoy the food, but next time I would ask to be seated in the room looking onto the fountain or virtually anywhere other than where we were seated.

It was the Sumnerlucious. May be that’s why the serving were super small, but delicious. Also were the tables always that close to each other? Thus my rating of the noice level. It was still a wonderful place and always enjoyed it every time I was there.

My husband and I had the Summerlicious lunch and found the Salade Nicoise and steak portions to be very small but nicely presented and delicious. The restaurant was fully booked. The service was excellent as always. During the Summerlicious promotion, Auberge du Pommier does not validate parking. Overall, the ambience is lovely but I would recommend not coming during Summerlicious.

A lovely setting with generally lovely food but the steak on the summerlicious menu was tough. My wife sent it back and had the nochies instead. Our companion and I struggled through it. French fries were good. It would be helpful to hav a warning that the parking is cheaper ($8.00) underground for about two hours than on the surface ($12.50).

We have been going to auberge for summerlicious in the past 6 years and the quality of the food has deteriorated. We were very disappointed with the quality of the food this time and would not be coming back for summerlicious .

Good service. Staff is friendly and professional. I originally booked a table for two (for myself and my wife). I later learnt on the day of the lunch that my friend also had booked another table for two. We decided to car pool, and at restaurant, requested for a single table for four instead. Such request was entertained without any hassle. Nice set up. Good quality of food, esp. desserts. Would like to have bigger portion of food though. Coffee could be hotter.

Parking at the nearby underground garage of Yonge Corporate Centre is a maze, esp. to new visitors, as it's shared by 3 commercial buildings. Unless you remember your spot and near which building, you may have a hard time finding your car.

The food is excellent, and the ambiance is pretty good, but just a bit noisy because it was full. The service is excellent, just the price is a little bit high.

Auberge holds a special place in my heart as my husband and I got married there two years ago. The day went off without a hitch from start to finish. We still get great feedback on the food and service. We celebrated our 2nd anniversary at Auberge again today and were not disappointed. We were greated with warmth, promptly shown to our table and served a glass a champagne upon the Maitre D' discovering what we were celebrating. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. And as always, service was friendly without being invasive. I highly recommend.

The Summerlicious menu was excellent. I had the salmon, beef and chocolate tarte. Everything was superbly prepared and service was excellent. Although I did not order it myself, the gazpacho got a rave review from my friend. She also enjoyed the blueberry clafouti so I recommended to her a French bakery that makes it. An enjoyable lunch in all aspects.

We are a group of 7 and sat at the large table in the patio. It was beautiful. Food, drink and service were amazing. It was also summerlicious time and we enjoyed the food at a better price. It's the best French place to go around North York.

I ate at Auberge du Pommier to try their Summerlicious menu and overall was a little underwhelmed (important to keep in mind there are some restaurants that tend to not give the highest quality and effort into their summerlicious/winterlicious menus and maybe this was the case?). The appetizers and desserts were nice and I didn't have much complaints about those. But the mains were a bit lacking; the striploin didn't seem fresh and was just room-temperature as if it was prepped way ahead of time and was just kept warm; additionally we had the fish that came with a mussel broth. The broth was very flavourful but the fish itself was borderline tasteless.

The decor and ambience of the place was beautiful and it was a pleasant place to dine in; however based off their summerlicious menu I most likely will not be returning to try their actual menu.
