Auberge du Pommier
We were seated and ordering when the restaurant called to see if we were coming.
We noted it was for a birthday when we made the reservation but the restaurant did not recognize it.
Ordered gin and tonic and vodka tonic as cocktails and were served with a ginger tonic. A heads up and choice would have been nice.
Got seated at 6:00 pm, arrived early
Main course served at 8 pm!
Menu and chef recently changed
Very little food on plate
Vegetables are offered in foam form
Beef was undercooked and tough
Lamb was served in 2 tiny pieces on plate
Service was slow and cold
We have been to Auberge for business and pleasure several times
A truly special dining experience!
A great place to celebrate. The staff are attentive and considerate, the food is fantastic and the ambiance is perfect. We will be back. Highly recommended.
Wonderful place to enjoy dinner. Auberge du Pommier never disappoints.
We did the tasting menu with wine pairing.
Very expensive but had a dinning experience that will not be fir gotten.
Service is exceptional.
Exception service. Formal when needed and relaxed at the same time. Chef was great. Requested seared foie gras instead of parfait and no problem
Amazing beef. Excellent wine list bottles plus by the glass. Unlike downtown restaurants there is plenty of room between tables so it is like a dinner for two albeit with many other diners in the room
Will be back
Ambience and service are excellent. Menu was very limited and not varied. Taste of food was fair. Not up to the usual standard of excellence we were used to. A noisy group was seated immediately next to us which did not allow us to have our own conversation and enjoy the meal. A large group of young people should be placed in another room so as not to disturb the other guests.
The server let us tried different wine to make sure we have the right one to pair with our dishes.
Great French restaurant. Consistently wonderful food. Love coming here. Will alway return!
for a restaurant referring to the french gastronomy, no service in french was proposed, the dishes were insignificant without any relation with their calls. Only the kindness of the server, could prevent us from getting up and leave.
We had the tasting menu and it was well thought out with nine beautifully presented and tasting dishes. Some of my favourites were the tartare (the dijon icecream was unique), the agnolotti (pasta cooked to perfection) and the walleye (loved the texture of the crunchy peas).
The menu is a modern take on French cuisine which combines seasonal flavours, local produce and winning flavour combinations.
The service was fantastic and attentive. I would not hesitate to come back again for a delicious night.
Lovely. Expensive but we knew that going in. But food & atmosphere was fabulous.
My wife and I have been going to ADP since before we were married. In fact, we booked the entire restaurant for our marriage ceremony and reception back in 2010, and have been going to dinner there every anniversary since. All in all, we've been coming to ADP no less than once a year for nearly 15 years. Ideally this should illustrate how worth it it is to dine here.
Auberge du Pommier never disappoints. Food is always delicious and top-notch service.
The most refined and elegant dining spot, for lunch or dinner, in Toronto. Consistently excellent food, service, and especially the ambience. A big WOW!
Stunning ambience. Clean and tidy and beautifully decorated around the theme of the beauty of France. Menu items were delicious and the service was prompt, on-point and courteous/friendly. Loved how upscale it was and the noise level was light chatter and professional. Only things I didn’t love was that some of the food portions could have been larger and some price tags on menu items were a bit too high for what they were ($12 for coffee...really??)
I spent a great time with my guests who are my dearest friends. I was glad we chose Auberge Du Pommiera again..
We choose Auberge as a perfect place to celebrate a milestone anniversary. We also choose the tasting menu which was paired with wine. For us, it was a perfect way to sample the full menu and enjoy the experience of the culinary team. It was well done, with great service and insight to each item on the menu. We liked it so much, we will happily return for any special occasion, to be treated well and dive deeper into the menu.
If you’ve never been, you have to enjoy the experience at least once. Food, staff, ambiance all add up to a wonderful dining experience.
It was really nice and fun. The food was interesting, and had lots of great components in them.
Our table wast at an area near kitchen, high traffic of staff and waiters going in and out. Sort of distrupts mood/ambience. Men's urinals, auto flush would be nice.
Our 33 anniversary dinner! We have been having our anniversary dinner at Auberge du Pommier almost every year for more than 20 years! It never disappoints!! And it remains our favourite restaurant in Toronto!
I was literally disappointed on my recent visit. The lady at the front had attitude issues and was not friendly to kids at all. When my son asked her a simple question she was reluctant to answer and brushed him off. I’ve never experienced such unfriendly staff at a French restaurant before. I felt like I wasn’t welcome to the restaurant at all. The waiter was okay but it was way more noisier at lunch compared to dinner. I could barely hear my friend talk who was sitting next to me.
Very pleased over all. Very good food, great ambiance, and exceptional service from the staff. Exceeded my expectations.
Service was above and beyond. Food was divine. Definitely will recommend
Always a reliable choice for first-rate service and impeccable food. If weather permits, the patio tables are the best in the house.
hidden gem that has stood the test of time. Can't believe this was our first time dining here.
Our waiter (chad) was impeccable, and very knowledgeable.
The service is excellent! The ribeye steak is very tough and no taste, bad quality meat. The soufflé is the best.
We attended for a birthday celebration and enjoyed both the food and the service. When staff ask how would you like that cooked, we always say "the way the chef thinks it should be cooked". You can’t go wrong with that here.
Great food, nice presentation, good separation between tables and the staff seem to love their jobs. I would like a broader menu.
It has a very nice décor.
We would return.
We always have a lovely dinner here. Thanks so much for the care you take.
Fantastic experience- great service, atmosphere and food. They did a great job in making my mother's birthday a memorable time!
Auberge du Pommier didn't disappoint. Our service was impeccable — just the right amount of attentiveness without being intrusive. I had the Boullibase as my main, and it was bursting with flavor. My wife had the Cote du boeuf, and while the accompaniments (cheese croquette, spiced apple) were good, it was the beef that was the star of the show — very flavourful as well as tender. The cheese selection was nice, but the portions seemed a bit small. I'd definitely return.
This is our favourite place for French cuisine in Toronto. We always go for special occasions and it's alway's reliably good.
Limited but flawlessly executed menu. Lovely refined atmosphere with serene outdoor patio. Hard to find these days. Servers need to learn the proper use of the term ‘we’ (how are we enjoying our appetizers?) I tolerate that better in a more casual environment but really, in an upscale French restaurant that gets it right in so many other ways??
Decided to try the tasting menu. It was excellent. My only regret is we didn’t go for the wine pairing option.
Outstanding experience - we had the full tasting menu for our anniversary, was excellent overall, great service and ambience. A wee bit pricey, but totally worth it.
The venue is beautiful, but the food just ok. And a nicoise should never have overcooked tuna.
