Auberge du Pommier
The original jewel in the Oliver & Bonacini crown and a North Toronto icon, Auberge du Pommier has been serving guests since 1987. Constructed around the rustic vestiges of two 1860’s woodcutters’ cottages, Auberge du Pommier combines country charm with contemporary sophistication and style. Featuring wood burning fireplaces in winter and lush, floral terraces in summer, it is a welcoming, refined retreat from the city.
Outstanding restaurant. Clearly my favourite place to dine in Toronto.
There is a good reason why the Auberge is one of the places where we love to celebrate family birthdays - the food is consistently excellent and the service attentive without being intrusive. We appreciate the understated elegance of the the venue ("rustic chic") and the contrast between the historical setting and the modernity of the combinations on the menu. This fresh approach to ingredients extends to the mocktails as well - pineapple with herbaceous contrast, anyone?
Highlights of this visit were the Sanglier pastrami, the sturgeon and the perennial signature Beef Wellington.
Excellent. Just excellent and perfect. Best food and paired wine in North America. Excellent service.
Amazing Foei Grass appetizer and for sure will be back🥰
Staff are amazing!!! They know food and wine. We had a bit of upset on the food - Beef Wellington for two came well done when we expected medium rare - it would have been delicious. Some accompaniments did not really seem like traditional French which we expected from Auberge and we prefer a bit more traditional (ie French toast with beef dish). Apps were beautiful and yummy. Sturgeon was delicious. Souffle and chocolate desserts were excellent but the other two desserts were just ok. Would like to see a bit more seafood/fish options. Overall experience was good and a lot of fun with our excellent waiter and sommelier.
Outstanding restaurant. Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Toronto. The lobster thermador was the best I’ve ever had and ambiance was perfect! Highly recommend.
Everything was awesome except it took a long time to get the bill
Waiter could be more attentive.
Dependably wonderful, always exquisite.
The service, the food and the ambience was wonderful; especially, when spent with our loved ones. Thank you for such as beautiful experience.
The food was nice, but I expected something a little more special given the restaurant’s reputation. I quite enjoyed the fois gras appetizer and the moules frites.
Very good experience and I’ll come again!
Excellent food and service thank you
Always walk away with an amazing experience. Well done to all.
Our experience was lovely in so many ways, and the staff were all kind and generous, checking in with us throughout our dinner to ensure that we were having a wonderful time. The managers, especially the GM "Avi" was particularly gracious. We will definitely be going back!
Great! Never fails. The Sophie room section was a little warm and “stuffy” though. But overall another excellent dinner!
Very nice multi course meal. Wait staff were excellent. Great meal.
It was wonderful experience. Would like to visit for birthdays and anniversaries!
Amazing food and service, place really needs a update. All of the walls lining was cracking. Windows was old and cracking frame. Wood beams supporting the room was cracked all over.
The evening was great as to be expected at Auberge. It is very much overpriced but as the saying goes they obviously push the limits to what the market can bear.
Valentines Dinner. Fixed menu was great.
We had our Valentine's dinner at this restaurant. The food and the whole experience is amazing!
Excellent as always. This has been our Valentine's day tradition for the last 3 years. Food was delicious and service was excellent. My only comment is that I was a little disappointed that the Canard (duck) wasn't offered on the Valentine's day menu this year. Please bring it back! :)
The price at Auberge du Pommier on Valentine's night was fixed at $155 per person + taxes + drinks + coffee. So, it was going to cost $500.00 or more for a loving couple to share the vibe at Auberge! Despite the high price, Auberge did deliver the goods for most diners. The restaurant has two "meeting rooms" at the front of house and patrons in those rooms did not enjoy the same ambience as those in the main dining area and smaller dining area over looking the patio at the back of the restaurant. The welcome at front of house is excellent with comfy velvet sofas and magazines to browse through if there is a short wait for your table. The set menu was superb with adequate selection of tasty options. For those not wishing to drink an entire bottle, there is an excellent selection of French wines by the glass. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. We enjoyed a seat by the crackling fire which was attended to lovingly during the entire evening. The waiting staff and servers hit the right notes. Friendly but not OTT. All in all, another memorable evening at Auberge.
We have been going to the Auberge since it opened. It has been and remains my wife and my favourite restaurant in Toronto. The food, serve and atmosphere is always exceptional!
Winterlicious menu was delicious and friendly staff
Ambience was great and food was very good. My husband had excellent steak. Unfortunately I had halibut and I believe that gave me a bad stomach. Apart from that the evening was very pleasant
The food was excellent. The service was awesome. Of course the food could be s little bigger, specially the deserts. With a upscale restaurant, there should not be a parking cost.
The steak there is amazing. But the cod tastes bland.
There is always a good experience no matter food drink and service in this restaurant. We went there for lunch and dinner also we tried testing menu which are very nice and this time we tried winterlicious, we are happy to have a delightful time there.
We went for a Winterliscious lunch.
We barely had sat down and they were taking our orders.
We felt rushed. Each course was delivered as we were taking our last bite of the previous course.
The bread in the bread basket was average. At a French restaurant, we were expecting an outstanding baguette … not the case.
The portion sizes have shrunk again. There is no value.
The quality of the food was excellent but we did leave hungry.
We ordered a latte, did not like their coffee but that is a personal opinion. Disappointed not to see any latte art given the price.
Quality, portion size and restaurant experience were far superior when we started going 20 years ago. We have had memorable and enjoyable dinners there.
But today, given the price point, substantially smaller portion sizes, the rushed atmosphere, I no longer would recommend going to the Auberge. I am now recommending Café Boloud (Four Seasons) to my friends.
Food was outstanding as always. However, the seats were extremely uncomfortable. Need new seats or existing need to be reupholstered as springs are gone.
Taste and ambiance was very good. Especially service is excellent and I feel comfortable whenever I visit this restaurant.
Flavorful, Delicious and pleasing to the eye food. Service was exceptional and overall experience was amazing
This is my favourite restaurant in Toronto. It never disappoints!! Service is consistently top notch and food is always cooked to perfection and presented in the most appealing way. Went for Winterlicious 2020 with the parents. Half the table had beef tenderloin which was full of flavour. The other half had the halibut - sweet and delicious! Highly recommend this beautiful quaint place for any celebration or just a date night dinner.
Glad they gave us bread because Winterlicious portions are quite small. I was still hungry when we left.
As an OpenTable user, I don't like to only give four stars to other restaurants simply because those establishments AREN'T Auberge du Pommier. I should be able to give Auberge SIX stars. The service and food are simply unparalleled and outstanding.
The service was not as good as it used to be during the winterlicious period. Chaos and unorganized.
Always a lovely place in an old stone building. White tablecloths, a French atmosphere and good food for a special occasion.
