We went for dine around - the food and service were outstanding. Will definitely be back. And of course the view is stellar too.
Part of the Victoria Dine Around. Had a window seat and the $40 menu was very good. Nice sized portions with exception of mocha tart.
We went for dine-around town and are so glad we did. It was the perfect dining experience. Beautiful view. Great service: knowledgeable, friendly, responsive, but not in the way Delicious food: Well plated and flavourful. Comfortable seating and quiet but not awkwardly so. It’s difficult to get that combination right now but Aura delivered.
Excellent menu and everything is executed to perfectly! Reasonable prices while enjoying amazing food and an awesome view. What more could you ask for?
Went for brunch but no brunch served.
Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with family. Service, food and the view were all excellent.
Laurel Point hotel and Aura restaurant are two of my favourite places in Victoria. Love the location and service and especially the “small plates “ for meals. Makes so much more sense than wasting food and encouraging people to eat too much.
Small plates to please most appetites! We are still talking about the fingerling potatoes! The view was spectacular with many boats having Christmas lights on their masts .really a very good experience.Simon our waiter was very good .
Delicious blends of flavors and textures, creating a fabulous and special dining experience.
The food did not meet our expectations. We recommend better breakfast options.
Our new favorite spot! The food was memorable and the flavors were magnificent. Service was excellent as well.
It was great. The food was amazing, the service was great
Great food and service. I did find the “small plates” tasting style menu a bit disjointed.
This is the second time we have been to Aura
On both occasions the food and service were exceptional
If you like sharing plates with family and friends and enjoy a wide variety of food experiences this is the restaurant for you!
No question, some of the best food eaten in Victoria.
Burgers were delicious and juicy. Risotto was so flavourful. View was beautiful.
Monday was a great evening to dine as not very busy.
As always the service is unobtrusively attentive, just what you want.
Aside from great food and relatively low background noise (very important if hearing impaired) the evening views of inner harbour lights are beautiful.
The trout was delicious and very yummy fingerling potatoes. The salad was a bit salty but very good. Always love having an ocean view while dining and the lights were kept low to appreciate the night lights around the harbour. We were nicely distanced from other tables in keeping with the Covid requirements. Very nice evening.
We had a fantastic evening at Aura. Every dish was amazing! The risotto and duck breast were our favourite. They even prepared special birthday dessert for our two birthday girls. Highly recommended! Will definitely come back!
The host was fantastic. We needed to make a show for 8pm and he ensured we were in and out in time to make it. Service was amazing and the food was fabulous. Seriously great experience at Aura last night. Thank you!
Nice place to go with family. Gorgeous view of Victoria’s inner harbour. Good to have a group so can sample various dishes.
It’s been a while since I’ve dined at aura - pre-COVID, but my recent experience was so disappointing. The food was not as good as I remembered. The short rib was dry and tough. Server didn’t describe components of the features “sablefish” and “tuna.” After my partner and I informed the server of our disappointment, she seemed to avoid us.
Love this restaurant! I only deducted stars because our waiter became a little rushed as the night wore on. Likely not his fault! And I find the lighting a little too overall rather than focussed on each table. Again, a hard thing to get right especially if tables move around.
The view is exquisite, the staff pleasant and capable. The cocktails were first rate.
The food was tasty and well prepared. The menu - well- there is just not enough options. The small plate idea is nice, I like sharing a lot of small things. However, there was a total of about 15 things on the menu and at least one of them was not available. Two cocktails, a parkerhouse roll (1), a small bowl of soup and a 4 oz oiece of steelhead trout was $70.
But the thing that overshadowed the entire experience was that a person ushered to the next table was wearing such heavy perfume that we had to move. We had to move.
I and many friends of mine have had the same experience in many places. Isn't there some way that when making a reservation on line or otherwise, patrons can be asked not to wear perfumes and scents? At the very least they clash horribly with food aromas. I have been in places where as many as 3 groups of nearby diners had to move to escape an obnoxious perfume odor but not a word was said to the drenched one.
A beautiful place - great food - small portions - great views over the harbour
The small plates are excellent and give lots of choices. Great cocktails.
Good service and friendly staff. The food tastes good and in a decent portion.
The service was relaxed and the timing was excellent. I came with a friend who will surely want to experience this fine dining again.
Once again, great small plates, excellent snd friendly service
Recommended for food, service, ambience, views, location
As close to a perfect dining experience as I can remember. Delightful, eclectic, creative small plates and superb staff
Beautiful views, exceptional service from staff. Excellent cusine.
I would not recommend. The quality and quantity of brunch was totally unacceptable.
Beautiful views, delicious food, and great service.
Aura is a small plate menu, but it will leave you wanting more with no room to put it. Aura is quiet, fine dining, with the finest service in the city.
Really lovely small plates food. Beautiful flavours and perfectly cooked. Definitely recommend
We came here because we had seen a review of the pandan pancakes. Unfortunately menu is seasonal and there were no pancakes on the menu. Server was new and offered kids pancakes but then came back and said that no pancakes were available. I ordered a side over easy egg and was asked if I wanted it soft or hard? I restated I wanted it over easy and not hard boiled :(
Limited options on a small plates menu but each one was excellent
We had a lovely time at Aura. Great cocktails, super tasty food, and fantastic views across the water.
Great food excellent service and a quiet environment
I had trouble getting my reservation right. I got a surprising unsolicited phone call offering me exactly what I wanted. Extraordinary!
Loved the soup and the tasty, delicious halibut. The small plate option was just right for my friends and me.
Our server was very patient explaining how everything was served, what every dish consisted of and the changes made since last I ate at Aura.
Finally, I don’t have to eat “pubby” food every time I go out.
