I have been to Autumn Court several times over the last few years. What I find most, is that the food and the service is very inconsistent. I went to the restaurant last Sunday night and ended up having to send back to two of the meals that I ordered just simply they were over done. The soup lacked any real flavor as did the rest of the food.
We had a large group of 11 people. Unfortunately seems the restaurant staff all called out the night of our reservation because there was only one waiter for the entire restaurant. We ended up spending 3 1/2 hrs mostly waiting for orders to be taken/delivered and lots of forgetting items ect.
Despite the frustrating lack of service due to call outs the food was on point and they didn't mind our silly shenanigans while we waited. We arrived 20min early and they had tables reserved for us. Thoroughly fun birthday celebration. We will definitely be back. This was my second time visiting and my first experience was fast friendly service and amazing food.
Not enough menus, yet, we where advise to order immediately. The waiter was rude and very impolite. The eggs rolls were cold and filled with air. When our soup arrived, the waiter stated, “ I would serve the soup, but tonight we are so busy, I can not”.
Not enough soup bowels where given. Had to ask for more.
Entrées, cold and salty. Our check arrived quickly, and was picked up and taken quickly. Poor
I don't know what happened this time. It wasn't even all that busy on a Thursday evening after Christmas. I was a single diner. This was a VERY BAD EXPERIENCE, as the restaurant was highly short staffed. I was ignored for quite a long while until I finally spoke up for myself. I contemplated walking out, but stayed. I watched a couple walk out, as they were very irritated after waiting for such a long time and no one had come to even acknowledge them, which had also happened to me as well. I had to send part of my order, (egg rolls), back for being a bit overcooked and a little on the burnt side, and then when I finally received it again, my chicken fried rice was cold, so I had to also send it back as well. Irritating at best. The timing was certainly off this day. The chef was helping to serve in the dining room. The chef walked past me multiple times before ever saying anything to me, but catered to the group directly right behind me. It was an absolute mess! Usually I am so very pleased with Autumn Court, but this visit was a huge disappointment. My server Patrick however, was the silver lining, as he tried to compensate as best he could. No one even offered a kind gesture after me having such a bad experience with my meal. It seemed the owner was irritated with me for complaining about the overcooked egg rolls and sending them back, and was not nice when he had to bring me a new order. I don't know if I will ever be back again, or any of my friends that I had previously told about this establishment. Unfortunate. It is rare that I leave a review such as this, as I dine out across the valley regularly.
‘‘Twas a good time. Autumn court is bomb
Best Chinese in Phoenix. Good size portions.
Food was cold. Had to remake. Not very tasty. Sizzling rice soup had no sizzle!
Very good old school Chinese food. So nice to find this hidden gem. Delicious, hot, and fresh! Not the stuff "other" restaurants call Chinese food. This Chinese food restaurant is authentic! I will be back again and will tell others about this place. My server Patrick was fantastic and timely!
Stopped in for lunch after my chiropractor appointment. Never been there. Lots of items on the menu but the place seemed dated. The food was ok, but the carpets were dirty and going down the hall to the restroom s, was a smell of old grease. Hope someone takes a que from this review and they do some cleaning to the place.
We loved it! Everyone who works here is Super thoughtful about their customers!
Pepper steak and fried rice were excellent.
My rating is based on a dinner reservation, I have to write my review under a completed lunch reservation as the employee never checked us in for our dinner reservation. I frequently dine here for lunch and would rate it 5 stars. Unfortunately, dinner is a completely different story. I informed the employee that I had a reservation for dinner for two on Open Table for 8:00 PM, she had no clue what I was talking about and said she's never heard of "Open Table" or earning "dining points". I always use Open Table to make lunch reservations here and I've never had a problem. No big surprise that we were never checked in for the dinner reservation so I'll have to prove it with Open Table which is a pain. It seemed that there were no regular servers working, only the bar staff. The restaurant was not busy, we were the only ones dining when we arrived but there were some people at the bar, along with a some take-out orders. Another table of three was seated fifteen minutes after us and their food came long before ours. We waited 40 & 50 minutes for our two basic entrees that were not served together. I am glad that this dinner was not my first experience with this restaurant because if it were I would never return. In all fairness, it's hard to expect the bar staff to be servers but I will not be back for dinner, I will stick to lunch as the service is always good.
We visited Autumn Court to celebrate my wife's birthday, with two other couples. They were not very busy and we were seated immediately. I ordered Schezwan Pork and my wife ordered Lemon Chicken, with fried rice. The vegetables in my pork dish were quite overdone and soft, almost mushy. My wife's Lemon Chicken was very flavorful and enjoyable (yes, she gave me a nice sample). We shared the fried rice and it was very good. Oh, I also had egg drop soup which was more broth than egg drop. I wouldn't recommend the soup. Even though the Lemon Chicken was good, I probably wouldn't go back to Autumn Court.
Good dining experience with great service. Special thanks to JJ.
Delicious and great service. A bit of a rowdy happy hour crowd, but the left early.
Went there with our family - group of 8 - for Christmas Day dinner - very crowded. We had reservations , but they weren't able to seat us for over 1/2 hour due to the people before us not getting up and taking their sweet time. Cleaning the table in order to get it ready for us was another story - it took forever to get it cleaned..... but that being said the food came out fast and nicely prepared - everyone enjoyed the meal - tasty and what we expected, and the price was very reasonable for a holiday meal for 6 adults and 2 kids.
We would go back again when it isn't so busy if we lived in the area - we are from the northeast.
Taking into consideration that it was Christmas day and they had many deliveries and walk-ins, they did a pretty good job. They were very apologetic for any delays in service.
The folks were very accommodating; the oblong table was excellent for a big party. The shape made it easy to see everyone.
Just about the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The hot and sour soup was like broth. The spring roll was pasty. The Kung pow chicken had maybe six peanuts. I had to send back the wine and order beer. If I was not hungry I would have walked out.
Autumn Court is my go to Chinese place. It has a great bar to grab a drink when you are waiting for your take out. I moved to AZ from the NYC area three years ago and this is my favorite Chinese Food in the area. The restaurant could use some updating, so if you decide to eat there, don't expect white table cloths but the food is very good!
