Always consistent service and great quality food. There were 4 of us and we had the Burgers and the Steaks.
Steak was excellent, spiced perfectly and cooked with a caramelized crusty delicious finish. Burger was outstanding, juicy and very tasty. The fries were also very good.
We started with a couple chacuterie (sp) boards. One with 3 versions of sausage and the other was an assortment of meats, breads, crackers, pickles and such. They were both excellent. Very generous portions.
We had a wonderful experience here: from the polite, diligent handling of the vaccine checking, to the prompt, courteous service by the server, to the excellent advice from the sommelier, to the absolutely fantastic food. Top notch! Minor criticisms would be the music is a bit loud for our liking, the two-person tables are tiny, and the chairs could be a bit more comfy. But we are getting old. :)
Best restaurant I’ve ever been to! 10/10 recommend
Really good food. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Portions were definitely on the smaller side and prices were high. This was disappointing but not enough that I’d avoid a future visit.
Our service was fast and friendly. Almost too fast, we were in and out in less than an hour. Clientele is (as with most places in Saskatoon) very casual, this is a place where you almost feel silly if you dress up.
Loved the cocktails.
Took advantage of the tasting menu. For was great!! We will be back for sure.
Our food was so good - as usual.
Ordered too many starters, but did a pretty good job anyway.
Excellent all round with such pleasant staff and atmosphere.
Appreciate they are only allowing entry to fully vaccinated people.
Excellent food, nicely presented and great service. The dishes are well-thought out.
Chicken wings are the best thing on the menu. Great experience
Amazing, fresh food and service! We love coming to Ayden
It was our first time. Great place- friendly service, amazing food & drinks, and would highly recommend to anyone who wants an intimate & fun dining experience!
I have in the past noted that restaurants run by "celebrity chefs" often have an arrogant attitude with regard to how good their menu is.
I found this to be the case here.
I ordered the pasta with beef Ragu. Everyone has an idea what a nice Ragu should be. The term has been rendered less meaningful over the years, but generally it is a braised meat sauce, and the braising liquids can be anything from water and stock to wine and various combinations.
In this case, the meat was course ground beef. Whatever the braising liquid was, allegedly red wine, had been reduced until it was replaced with what was basically grease, probably the beef fat rendered and perhaps a bit or olive oil. There was some sort of herb that was entirely devoid of whatever original flavor it may have had. The beef was overcooked to the point of being crispy. It was under seasoned, and the result was that it was completely bland. I asked for salt, and in the overly precious presentation of restaurants that imagine they are among the best, I was present with a little container of course salt, basically pebble sized. What ever happened to table salt, good old Winsor salt, with iodine to keep our thyroid glands working well. I've eaten in more than a few Michelin starred restaurants. They put salt on the table, or more likely understand how to properly season food.
The pasta was broken lasagna, not being a connoisseur of dried pasta, I could not tell if it was one of the fine offerings by Catelli or perhaps Barilla.
As it turned out, the miniscule serving was close to as much as I was prepared to gag down.
My wife had the Beef Tartar, not actually proper beef tartar, but an rendition that added nothing to the real thing, but she liked it fine regardless.
She had ordered the caramelized nuts and seeds, they were OK but came in a little Ball Jar (cute) with a dirty lid.
Overrated. Better offerings in this beautiful city abound.
Food was amazing!
One of best ambience, food was amazing.Nice cozy and quiet place. Every dish we ordered was mind blowing and tasty. Serving was quick
The 4 course sampler was Fantastic!!!
Would definitely order again.
Ayden's is a beautiful restaurant and while some of the food was outstanding I felt some of it was not worth the price, considering almost everything is served a la carte. I think at the very least offer bread or some kind of starter.
This was our first time at Ayden. Started out by ordering each of us a glass of wine, most places give you at least a 6 oz glass, we were served a 5 oz. I had the pasta dish and my wife had the pork. The waitress said that most people order either the zucchini or the fried potatoes to add to the pasta. I opted for the fried potatoes which were good. Pasta had no flavour. My wife had the pork and by the time she cut off the fat of the pork she was down to 2 SMALL pieces of chewy pork, the roasted carrots were extremely overdone with zero flavour as was the carrot and cheese purée. By the time the waitress came around to see how everything was, we were almost done our meal. It was a real let down as we had heard good reviews. Definitely will not be returning anytime soon!
The food is always fantastic! No matter what I order it tastes delicious and keeps me coming back for more. Definitely one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Saskatoon.
Very good food and service. But do not plan a romantic dinner. Could get very noisy.
Another outstanding night out and meal at Ayden. Highly recommend!
My friends trout was well done but I had ordered the pork loin but instead I got pork belly. I do no like pork belly but thought I must of misread the menu item. Nope, the restaurant decided to serve pork belly instead with a fat cap of about an inch to inch and a half. If the described product is not available, I would like to be told that before hand, especially for this level of dining. This soured my experience enough that I would not return.
Due to the open kitchen concept, Chef Dale is also forced to constantly yell orders which in turn makes diners speak louder. Some may enjoy that but we found it very distracting.
We came here for our anniversary. The food was amazing. I cannot rave enough. The service was top notch. In a time right now where it seems so difficult to find good servers, I was thrilled with the level of service at this restaurant. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. We were gifted free dessert because it was our anniversary. The quality and attention to all facets of this restaurant is too notch. We will be back and will recommend over and over again
We went twice within a week. Tasting menu is really great. Wine list could use improvement.
VeryFreindly and professional
She time our meal perfectly
Great atmosphere, great service and even better food!
Excellent service. Great cocktails. Great presentation of food yet flavour was limited. Expected greater satisfaction in food given previous reviews and price.
Staff were very gracious. We asked to love table Sam’s they accommodated. Our servers was extremely knowledgeable. Out food was perfection.
Outstanding food, and amazing flavours. Best meal I've had in ages. It's hard to find creme caramel generally and this one was superlative. The trout was done to perfection. Five stars is not enough.
Highly recommend Ayden Kitchen and Bar! Very nice and welcoming staff, fantastic food and amazing atmosphere! Im always beyond satisfied with their service, food and drinks!
An excellent meal and a very congenial waitress! The trout was superb as were the ricotta dumplings and the creme
caramel with peaches was excellent.
We visit Saskatoon once a year and
always include Ayden in our visit!
Excellent food and service. Unfortunately we had a family with a very loud and boisterous child seated next to us. We moved to the bar area and completed our evening enjoyably.
The food was unbelievable. It was a busy night so it took a while to get service on our drinks but once a new server took over our table we had incredible service.
The food was outstanding. It was quite loud so we couldn’t visit very well but the drinks and food trumped the noise!
The food was good as expected. The cocktails were nice. The service was slow but nice. The staff was polite and friendly. Overall a nice experience. Would love to come again. Only thing I would point out is that it was really noisy.
The food was fantastic, very attentive and friendly service and a great atmosphere!
Our dinner was so incredible! Every bite was exquisite! Highly recommend!!
Drinks were excellent, service was really good, food was delicious!, didn’t have to wait long for food with excellent timing for each course!
Thanks to Sara, Benet, and the rest of the team for the incredible service and hospitality! Such an amazing experience!
Great place, Sarah rules! Would definitely come back
Enthusiastic server, great decor, interesting menu items, delicious meal. Just a little loud but otherwise highly recommended/
