Azumi was a great restaurant. The ambiance, food and Service among our favorite in Baltimore.
Perhaps ownership has changed, but the ramped up disco music (to a deafening level) ruined the entire experience. Food has gone down a notch, and with $$ prices and an unpleasant ambience, one has to question if it’s worth going there at all.
Only positive was the service, as our waiter was outstanding.
The food was wonderful. Some of the best sushi I've had. The atmosphere is fun and hip. It's definitely on the expensive side, but we thoroughly enjoyed every part of the experience from the food and drinks to the service.
Service was very slow and the restaurant was not terribly full. Our waiter missed my original entree and I had to wait again to get it. It took nearly 2 1/2 hours.
Went here for birthday lunch for my father. Sashimi was fresh and delicious with choice fish options. We also ordered spicy miso ramen which was overall flavorful but way too salty. The special roles and maki roles were nothing spectacular but the usual.
Value wise—-expect to pay premium prices. Actually I know for use I can spend 67% less at other sushi places. I think you are paying for ambiance and location which sits right at the waterfront in Inner Harbor East. Service was attentive and the complimentary dessert with the candle was thoughtful.
Stuffy, overpriced, the kitchen delivered food to our table that wasn't ours, all of the front of the house staff seemed snobby. Overall the food was really good but the vibe of the restaurant wasn't very welcoming.
Some of the best sushi in the area. Has three of the four levels of blue fin tuna. Rice is sushi quality and well prepared displaying good seasoning and falls apart in your mouth to be able to taste the individual grains. Fish and rice complimented each other.
The food was phenomenal! From the appetizers to the main dish I was very pleased. I will definitely return soon.
We were underwhelmed by the food, but the service was very good.
While the ambience is wonderful, the food wasn’t as good as I remembered it being previously.
We took our daughter to dinner here for her 18th Birthday and had an amazing experience. The food couldn't have been any better. My Daughter and I got a sushi platter and it was all so fresh and delicious. My wife had the braised short ribs that melted in your mouth. I would highly recommend this for anyone that loves sushi or Asian food.
Food is just ok. Price is too high for what you get both in quality and quantity.
Favorite spot. Always excellent. Atlas Group definitely has their act together!
The atmosphere and location were excellent. The food was good but not good enough to justify the expense.
It was great!
Good food. You may need to use you phone flashlight to read the menu, it was a bit dark. Other than that, the view was great and the service was great.
A bit pricey but well worth it. Services was outstanding, Very small menu option but the options are eye catching.
Since our last meal at Azumi (3 years ago) where we were very impressed by quality and value, we were saddened that the quality has gone down and the prices have gone up. Is it still very good Japanese food? Of course. Is the seafood fresh? Yes. For example, we loved the cod, and while the cod is still very good, the size has shrunk and the price has gone up; and horrors: they added fingerling potatoes! (How about rice?) Service remains excellent.
azumi is just par for me. there are plenty of other sushi places that offer the same menu but with a smaller price. we go because our aunts love it there so we accompany them
I was not impressed by our meal. The drinks we ordered were not very good, and the sushi was just okay. I felt that everything was a bit overpriced. As far as atmosphere, it was a little too dark and some members of our party struggled to read the menu. The service was the best part of the evening, as our server was attentive and the whole staff was helpful.
So noisy 7pm completely unable to hear any conversation. Food truly just ok. Tables packed so closely together that a server’s body was almost in my food. Sorry, but the tryth
Food is great. But the sake selection needs to be improved!!
Everything was fantastic!
Conveniently located across the pathway from the Marriott Inner Harbor Hotel. The menu is not extensive yet interesting & well priced...not much to consume for the Vegetarians/Vegans.
We arrived late (10PM) so had to compete with the loud DJ to be able to hear each other talk.
Dimmed lighting provided an intimate backdrop to the upscale interior design & amazing view one the inner harbor.
They offer Cork service with a decent up charge on the bottles of wine. I will return for an earlier time of visit to enjoy the full gamet of Azumi.
Outstanding food and service! Probably the best Japanese cuisine we've had in Baltimore. The noise level increases as the evening goes on, so if you want a quieter dining atmosphere, book a reservation before 7:00pm. Our waiter was extremely attentive and accommodating. The food is excellent!
I was there meeting my niece and her friend for dinner. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The restaurant was very busy and all the staff worked really hard and all of them were very attentive. We had a minor issue with our bill and Mike the manager who visited our table during the evening to see how everything was going handled it above and beyond what we would have ever expected especially because we were not complaining. Outstanding restaurant and exceptional customer service.
Overall great experience!!! Food a little pricey but everything else was perfect!!!
We brought our mother to Azumi for her 80th birthday. It was an absolutely stellar experience from beginning to end. The sashimi is some of the freshest I’ve had on the East coast. The service was extremely attentive. Dessert was both beautiful and delicious. We will definitely be coming again.
Several times we were brought something we didn't order, staff looked pretty disorganized.
Excellent location , great ambience. Food was very tasty
We had the most amazing meal at Azumi! The service was terrific. I would highly recommend going there.
Good ramen, good sushi. Great location but you're paying for it.
My friend and I LOVED Azumi!!! The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Food was DE-LICIOUS and so were the drinks. This was our 1st time there but we will be back👍
Always delicious food and great for a lunch meeting!
Omakaze lost it’s touch. Too salty and too americanized. Used to be good a couple years ago
Outstanding sushi and table service. Pricey, but worth it. Music was a bit loud for easy conversation, but not headache-inducing. Would definitely eat there again!
Enjoyed a relaxed and excellent lunch. The service was perfect (considerate, professional, friendly).
The food quality and presentation was exceptionally good (various fish dishes). Noise (music) was not too intrusive but can be notched down a bit for more comfortable conversation. The ambience is good and the overall aesthetics of the restaurant is harmonious and restrained.
During a previous visit to Baltimore in May we enjoyed an excellent dinner (for 7) at Azumi that reflected equally high standards in the evening. It is my go-to quality Baltimore restaurant.
The experience we had last evening, was super! This was a birthday celebration for one of our group. I can’t say enough for the food, service, and ambiance. I would highly recommend this restaurant. If you are lucky enough to be seated in one of the front booths, you have a lovely view of the water. Icing on the cake!
Great service by Carlie. Delicious food
I went to Azumi with my wife and we loved the atmosphere. Amazing Japanese design and great great area with beautiful view on the water. We had sushi and honestly they weren’t as great as we expected them to be ..but honestly I enjoyed tho my wife said it’s ok. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Yes we will definitely be back! Thanks you Azumi!
Good restaurant with good outside view....but no wow factor.
