Came at the time of our reservation, but table was not ready and took 10min to sit us. Extremely slow service, appetizers came about 30min after ordering.
After one hour and fifteen minutes our main courses (primarily Sushi) did not arrive. Had a medical appointment at the hospital and had to pay in full for the food even tough it did not show.
Never received an apology.
Normally I love Azumi. Our meal was very underwhelming. There was a good amount of shell in the lobster fried rice and it was sitting in a pool of siracha sauce. I usually order sushi but chose the halibut. I didn’t really enjoy it. Our waitress was wonderful but the managers response of offering ice cream to make up for the lobster shells in the rice didn’t seem appropriate.
Great food, service and ambiance! I would recommend Azumi 😊
Great professional service, very knowledgeable and a wonderful menu.
Service was wonderful from beginning to end - thanks, Eric! We loved everything we tried and our table had a beautiful view of the water at sunset. Can’t wait to come back!
Food is good. Waiter isnt so good. the diet coke didnt show up til in the middle of the meal. (forgot!)
Even though we ordered King crab rolls one order, it showed up in two plates so we thought it was a great meal but when we got the checked, we actually got charged twice for that. We didnt want to argue because it was my bday celebration.
Outstanding night out. I happened to pick Azumi on a whim without much research and it ended up being amazing. Easily the best dining experience I've ever had. The wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and even passionate about good food and drink. Overall great night and great experience.
Jennifer was a very attentive and cordial server. She was wonderful.
We loved Azumi and it is the second time we went there for a birthday. The wait staff is very helpful and attentive and the food is fabulous and creative. I just wish there would put the 3 course Chef's tasting back on the menu.
Celebration for my son’s 15th Birthday !
Great food and fantastic service. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Food was excellent and the service was great! I have been to Azumi several times and have never had a bad experience.
Nice looking restaurant with beautiful view of the harbor; however, well overpriced for mediocre sushi and service equal to the food. Don't waste your time or money.
My love proposed to me at this restaurant and the waitress was gracious enough to bring us champagne and a special dessert to make the experience that much more wonderful. It's a beautiful atmosphere, wonderful food and fantastic staff!
Food was delicious!!!!! Great experience!
Even though it took a little while for us to be initially greeted, the rest of our service experience was great. Good recommendations, attentive but not overbearing. The food was really good but at that price point I wanted it to be exceptional. The same quality sushi and presentation is available at our favorite local sushi restaurant for about 30% less. It was a special occasion though, and I knew going into it that it would be more expensive. Everything was really good, but probably wouldn’t make it a point to go back when we are in Baltimore again.
Very excellent food but music very aloud!!!
We had a reservation. Called 5 hours early to change the time of the reservation. There was no issue from what I understood on the phone call. When we got to the restaurant, the hostess, Jane, was extremely rude. The reservation was not changed in the system. Told us to go to the bar. There was no apology or empathy from the hostesses. I expected better service.
Took my best friend for dinner for her birthday. We had an 8 pm reservation and arrived at 07:55. We were told the table wasn’t ready and we were not given a time when it would be. We were ushered to the bar where we waited. The bartender did not have any personality and seemed to be annoyed we were there. We ordered drinks and waited. Around 830 a hostess came and told us all that was available was a high top table. When I asked if there was anything else she rudely said there wasn’t and she didn’t know how long till something else opened up. We waited to pay for our drinks and another two top was picked up by a hostess and seated at a standard table. The beginning of our evening did not turn out how it should of. We dine at azumi quite frequently and this is not the normal experience for us.
The food for the price point was amazing. Will definitely be back again.
We absolutely love Azumi! We come here for every celebration, every time we crave some fantastic sushi with a relaxed atmosphere. Our servers always make us feel very special! 20/10 recommend
Food was great.... overpriced doubt I’ll go back.
$300 for 2 people to have dinner is a bit much.
If price is no object and you like good food then this is a great place
Great location, views are amazing at night. Good food, great service.
Food was excellent, but service absolutely blew us away. Fantastic!!!
Our waiter was kind enough, but really didn’t make a connection with the towable. Waiters leave an impression.
I loved their food. Harbor-side dining is hard to beat. our waitress was extremely attentive, even to the needs of a vegetarian. Valet is 14$ and entire meal came out to 250$. Best special-occasion sushi place in Downtown Baltimore! Highly recommend for a mid summer lunch or watching sunset
Great service - good ambiance. Food was good but not exceptional. The culinary scene in Baltimore has improved significantly in the past few years - so a high end dining spot like this needs to make the effort to stand above the multitude of other restaurant choices.
We reserved a table, but got put at the bar which is ok for some occasions, but not a prime time reservation on Valentines Day made over a month ago. They were "out" of nearly all of the cheaper bottles of wine and had to apologize multiple times for how long each course was taking. Our server was very nice and the food was delicious, but it was a $400 dinner for two that was lacking any special ambiance and felt very disappointing.
Over priced. Mediocre service. Not worth it.
The food was excellent and our server Kayla S. was superb. Very personable and attentive. Definitely worth going back. FYI - the king crab legs are incredible!!!
A prix-fixe menu limited our experience but great service and prep
Food was so-so, no different from RA Sushi, which is a chain restaurant. The tuna bowl was poorly presented; everything, including the daikon and ginger were tossed into a small bowl, it was a mess. Sake not cold enough. Service was poor. Took 1 hour to receive main course after warm appetizer. It was Valentine's Day. Not the first one at this restaurant, so no excuse for poor staffing in the kitchen, especially with a fixed menu. $300 for two would have been ok if it was worth it. We were disappointed.
We went to Azumi for Valentines Day dinner. I didn’t even think that they wouldn’t have their normal menu so when we got there and it was a set menu I was disappointed initially. Let me confirm initially. The options were fantastic. Our server Josephine was even better. She made the night. Loved it.
I've been to Azumi about 6 times, and every time before this one was just outstanding: very attentive staff, friendly waiters, great food. So I'm still giving it 5 stars overall. But this time, it was weird. The waiter seemed just exasperated with us and the people he was working with. He was mystified that someone would ask for "sparkling pinot noir" and elaborately connected them with the winemaker name or terroir (whatever). There's a way to confirm that politely ("Oh, yes, our Bressard wine is a good sparkling pinot noir, etc"), without acting as if the person is a rube who does not understand wine terminology.
The food was fine. The mushrooms were a bit heavy with butter/oil. The main course, miso cod was good.
Anyway--Azumi is amazing in general, not gonna let one bad night keep me away for too long.
I am a very frequent patron of Azumi and I typically am thanked once I walk in the door, I have a specific table of which I dine in and the staff is typically accustomed to the type of drinks that I prefer. I was not treated with that level of service when I arrived on Sunday and I was very disappointed. I will give Azumi another shot to resume their typical service but I will not frequent a restaurant without great service.
My husband is the sushi fanatic, not me. Yet, I think I enjoyed my meal as much is not more.
The vibe on a Saturday night was a full house, lots of energy and an upscale crowd, so worth wearing something special to feel special.
The panko fried oysters starter were succulent, perfectly prepared and abundant. The Australian Wagyu Ribeye at $65 did not disappoint - the size of the cut was ample, the meat prepared expertly, and the sides that were *not* a la carte. Yeah, it's an expensive 'steak meal', but it truly was special.
Even the dessert, the Shomei Fuji warm chocolate cake, was delicious. We are local and Azumi is now on top of our list.
A bit pricey but delicious and beautifully presented food
Food was amazing definitely going back there with my family
Went with friends. The food was amazing and our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. No complaints at all. Maybe just turn up the lights just slightly!
I made impromptu reservations for my birthday. We were warmly greeted at the door and promptly seated. To my surprise the hostess gave me a hand written birthday card, the first time a restaurant has ever done that especially since this was my first visit.
The waiter was knowledgeable about the menu. My guest and I had 2 amazing drinks. I ordered the assorted seaweed salad for an appetizer and sushi for my entree. My guest ordered soup and halibut. Our dessert was delicious - ginger ice cream. But the presentation was EVERYTHING!
I live closer to DC but I will definitely be back especially when the weather warms up.
