Great food, great service. Though on the bit on the pricy side. Overall great meal
Nice ambience, great location on the Inner Harbor. Food was excellent and first rate service. Grilled octopus was interesting. Broccolini was perfect. Grilled scallops done to perfection and sauces, seasonings amazing.
Service was wonderful. We specifically booked this restaurant so we could eat outside by the water. We were unable to, however, because they would not put the umbrellas up because they would “topple over.” What?! Your outside umbrellas can’t hold up to a breeze?! You’re in the water, for goodness sake.
The food was fine, but very average for a very high price - was disappointed.
This was my second time at Azumi. The food is very creative and the staff is wonderful, polite, and they really want you to enjoy your time at the restaurant. If you like sushi this is absolutely the best place for it and you will be treated well.
My date and I really enjoyed our dining experience at Azumi. I was visiting Baltimore for the weekend and was not expecting great sushi, but was pleasantly surprised! Would definitely come back again. Food and service was excellent.
We sat outside and there was just one other table outside. Server barely came out. Got there around 12:07 pm and got food around 1:15 pm. I had a salad and sushi and salad never came out ahead so had 15 min to eat both before going back into a conference. I can’t imagine it could take an hour to make a small salad.
A fabulous dining experience, we will be back. The staff was extremely knowledgeable.
Can’t recall ever spending so much for so little !
Great location with an awesome view. The service from our waitress was excellent.
The Tuna tasting sampler was great. We added the tuna cheek to ours and it was also outstanding.
The tuna tartare appetizer and 3 rolls we ordered for the rest of our meal were unimpressive and my wife and I felt we’ve had far better at other restaurants. Overall, except for our tuna sampler, the food itself felt highly priced and overrated.
I recently went to Azumi with a group of friends not for a particular occasion, but to catch up. We sat outside and the view of the harbor was excellent. The atmosphere was nice and calm, not uncomfortable even though it’s more of an upscale restaurant. It wasn’t too hard to get a reservation either but I’ve noticed that it’s typically busier on weekends and reservations should be made a 2-3 weeks in advance. The food was good and fresh which i would expect considering the prices. There was also a large selection on the menu which is a plus because there’s always room to switch it up and try something new. Overall i give Azumi a 4 out of 5.
Great for birthday celebration. Sushi is delicious!
Overpriced food. Tried a special sushi roll but it wasn’t special and rather coarsely put together .
The service was extremely slow. Fish was fishy! We only ended up liking one of the rolls we ordered.
Very nice wait staff
Very tasty food, especially the shrimp appetizer
Attentive service and not rushed. Large food and drink menu. Enjoyed that flights were available. Our robika scallops were overcooked in places and rubbery but flavorful and tasty. Not sure wayu fried rice needed a ring of sriracha around it but tasty. Nigiri dinner good.
First time dining at Azumi. Our server, Jennifer, was awesome. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items and specials. Drinks were tasty and food was excellent. Would come back to dine and recommend to others.
The food and service was very good, and on point. Almost no complaints except for the Rotoba. The chicken is probably too close to the fire, so it charred a bit. The Australian Wangu sauce was rather salty.
The noise from the speaker is rather loud, so it can make it hard to hold a conversation with a person across from you if you are near it.
The later the night goes on. The darker the restaurant gets, and it wouldn't be so bad if they slowly raised the light levels. However the staff have to use flashlights to help customers read the menu, and show what is delivered.
Overall the place is excellent even with those cons.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. They were busier than usual, even though we had an early reservation. The presentation of the food was not as nice as it usually is. Two of our sushi and sashimi orders came out on plain-as-can-be round white plates. The sushi didn't even have ginger or wasabi. This was a very unusual misstep for this establishment. The food - especially the Wagyu Rice, tuna tartare, and shisito peppers - and drinks were delicious as usual though.
Upon arriving was greeted by the valets, whom took great care of my car. Checked in with the hostess who could not find the online reservation, but was seated immediately. Table was a little wobbly; however that is probably from it being constantly moved. Service was great and the waiter was very knowledgeable of all the sakes that were offered. Food was amazing and filling. Am a sushi snob. Even the manager came out to the table to make sure everything was satisfactory. This place is highly recommended!!
My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience. We ate outside with a beautiful view of the inner harbor. The food was creative and delicious.
We tried Azumi for the first time so to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. It was a great place for our date. Fresh, young and vibrant restaurant full with exceptional food choices. Fresh ingredients, well cooked and presented and with a cool selection of Asian Inspired drinks. We will definitely go back again! Very friendly stuff and nice atmosphere overall. Better visit with friends or as a date.
Awesome food, view and atmosphere! A hidden gem!
We unfortunately had an issue with the hostess. We made our reservation a week in advance. I also called in specifically asking for a booth with a view which was granted. Our concierge from the Four Season also called to confirm our reservation and booth that morning. We arrived 5 minutes early and was behind a group the same size as ours. We watched the hostess give them our table, even admitting that she did so because they were supposed to sit outside but the weather looked questionable. We then had to wait 25 minutes for another booth.
My family had a very unpleasant experience at Azumi.
Such a great time with friends! The food was delicious and the service was great. Our server and bartender took great care of a pregnant guest, ensuring amazing mocktails and safety when it came to menu items.
The food was so good! Freshest fish in Baltimore. I can't wait until my next trip. Made for a great birthday!
Azumi STILL has the best sushi in Baltimore, albeit very expensive. In fact, I'd rather not go anywhere else in greater Baltimore. That said, however, Azumi has lost its character. We did not hear the energetic, "Irashai mase!!" upon coming to the sushi bar; we were the only patrons at the sushi bar despite the restaurant being nearly full (now that's very odd); none of the 3-4 sushi chefs even bothered to make eye contact, much less acknowledge our presence.
In "real" sushi bars (i.e., those that retain the core values of a truly Japanese sushi bar), the enjoyment of sitting there is to interact with the sushi chef. I should know. I'm half Japanese and grew up in Japan. Anyway, that's gone at Azumi. Nevertheless, the food was exceptionally good. Next time, however, I think I'd rather go to DC, Philadelphia, NYC, San Diego, or Seattle for that "real" sushi experience.
Nice environment, great location, but a total disappointment. Service was just ok, hand towel has stains, sashimi was not fresh at all! For an upscale place like this, I will never return and would not recommend.
Pre-concert dinner for my sister’s birthday. Beautiful experience! Gabby (spelling?) our server was amazing!
Wow. Food is amazing, especially the short ribs, waygu fried rice and black cod.
Piece of plastic in my buddy’s rice. Dumb no hats policy, overpriced, skimpy portions, but a good meal.
Music was disco volume - difficult to have a conversation - sushi was so-so but priced as if it was fantastic. Best thing was location. Disappointing.
The food wasn't very good. The waitress knew very little about the menu. Just not really worth it.
KAYLA IS AMAZING WE LOVE HER
Very little food for the high price. I left satisfied but not full after having the king crab salad. My husband had sushi, no complaints regarding quality just limited portions. We began sneezing as soon as we sat down at the table. I questioned the large orchid next to the table, the waitress said she would have to speak with her manager and another leader is she could move it??? Interestingly, when she came to get our plates she asked if we thought we had enough food. I then felt it must be intentional to get customers to buy more.
This is an authentic Japanese restaurant with knowledgeable staff and excellent fish and sushi.
It is expensive, but for a true foodie, just what the doctor ordered.
