Beautiful bar with open windows. Nice live piano music. Beautiful interior. Top notch servers!
Again, beautiful restaurant! Lovely menu with seasonal offerings. Again, service level was perfect!
Please forward this message to Elpie Marinakis........ Hi thereElpie. This is Lynda Smith your YHSchool Social Studies teacher.
I have enjoyed your wonderful restaurant many times but have never written a review.
Congratulations on continuing your beautiful Mother's legacy. Wedgewood is a very special establishment. Dining at Bacchus is always a very relaxing, elegant treat.
I remember you and Marouska with much fondness. You were lovely students and both represent the best of York House! A group of your "old" teachers get together from time to time and your names come up!
With my very best wishes....Lynda Smith
Wonderful date night
Amazing food and service
Our server was outstanding, he was a 30+ year veteran server that was full of knowledge and was very enjoyable.
A lovely evening had a Bacchus. The service was fantastic. The ambience was ideal for an evening meal/date. The pianist was great. The food and drink were great too, the ahi tuna starter was perfect, although I think my wife and I preferred the mains, which were fish dishes, to be accompanied by roasted vegetables than pasta (potato noodles) the only minor personal change we would make.
The food is amazing!
Downtown location - excellent service. A friend and I had lunch. Their selection of breads is great. The Salmon & Dungeness Crab and Avocado & Shrimp was delicious.
Really amazing experience and delicious food
Great food, service & ambiance. I would definitely recommend to someone wanting a special meal in Vancouver
Best food ever and excellent service
Excellent customer service and meal selection
Excellent dinner at Bacchus Restaurant tonight Wedgewood Hotel & Spa . Great atmosphere, service, piano music and food.
Joel made the whole experience worth it all! The food was splendid as was the ambience.
The staff was able to easily accommodate dietary restrictions and make modifications to certain items on the menu. Very helpful!
Terrific food & service. A real gem in the middle of downtown
Our son and daughter in law (serious foodies) will be visiting Vancouver soon and we will absolutely INSIST that they dine here. The food was spectacular. Oysters were excellent. Salad had cheese croutons that melted in your mouth. Perfectly prepared fish with subtle sauces. For a vegetarian, the ricotta tortellini was wonderful. The wine list is extensive and surprisingly affordable. Restaurants often fall down on deserts, but the desert at Bacchus was excellent - prepared with considerable skill and imagination. Service was appropriately attentive and highly pleasant.
An absolutely outstanding dinner . The beef was very tender and the sauce was rich and tasty. The halibut was divine . Ambiance was perfect and the service outstanding . A memorable evening
Had a very enjoyable meal. Food was good and staff very attentive.
We always enjoy dining at Bacchus and were not disappointed when we went for Brunch on Canada Day. The food was excellent, the atmosphere perfect and the service from James was fabulous as always. We come to Vancouver once a year and always make sure to come to Bacchus!
Excellent evening of fine dining with all the expectations of a 5 star establishment. The ambiance here is second to none with the rich warm upholstery, carpets and wall dressings to absorb and muffle nearby table chatter. This is our most favorite restaurant and lounge in Vancouver. The attention to detail in the service department is quite impressive indeed. They were astute enough to see that my wife had not returned to her seat from powdering her nose and had our dinners under the heat lamps and the moment she sat down they were right there with the food within seconds! Another example of fine dining service is to always finishing pouring that last bit of wine from the bottle into the ladies glass ... very classy. The food was prepared with care and passion from the chefs and you can taste the quality in every savored bite. The live entertainment at the Wedgewood is yet another tasteful draw for us. We will no doubt be back to experience another wonderful evening of dining and libation. Todd from Burnaby
The food and service was amazing. The special menu was delicious!
Service and food were spectacular
Yes, but only to an affluent friend. It has class but for a price
Came here at the recommendation of a friend. Enjoyed a fabulous breakfast.
Great food, beautiful room, attentive waiter . Great night
From the moment we arrived till the end of our dinner we had the most enjoyable and memorable dinner. In fact my husband who is a very hard marker and generally not a fine dining person said it was the best dining experience he has ever had.
Our wait staff were professional and friendly. The oysters were superb, as were our mains, lamb rack and the tenderloin with ribs.
We also had breakfast the next day and again it was faultless, hoping we can get back there again before we leave Canada.
The service was very attentive and the food is amazing. Great restaurant and hotel
Amazing dinner. Had the special asian flared halibut and hubby Sea Bass Vongole. Breakfast was good and filling. Had the All American breakfast. Service was superb for both dinner (Tim) and breakfast (Dhan). Totally rate them one of the best. You won’t be disappointed.
Our waitress was amazing!
We went for an extended-birthday dinner. Sat in a booth. Which was quiet enough that we didn't have to raise our voices to be heard. There was a lovely din of other diners, and a piano player. Candle lit tables. Nice cocktails. And dinner was outstanding. The flavors of every dish well composed. Symphonic? Poetic? Delicious for sure. We certainly will be back.
Food: Excellent. Ambiance: Excellent. Service: excellent. Have dinner at Bacchus.
Very romantic. Perfect place to celebrate an anniversary.
Nye, our waiter, was also great.
The hostess upon my arrival was courteous, professional and welcoming, an important introduction to any venue including hotels and restaurants. My guest was obviously well known to the personnel. We were served an excellent meal at at table appropriate for a business conversation.
It was a splendid lunch from every perspective.
Hat’s off to Bacchus.
the food is great. the service is very slow. I have never managed to have a coffee after lunch because once the meal has arrived your servers disappear for an hour and it is time for me to go to work
Restaurant very quiet and somewhat lacking in atmosphere. Brunch menu quite limited (at least by UK standards ) excellent friendly service but overall we were disappointed by lack of buzz compared with other Vancouver restaurants we had visited
The service was great! We ordered egg benedict and omelette and they were delicious
Deservedly rated a top restaurant in Vancouver. Impeccable service, creative dishes made out of the finest ingredients with an original twist. If you are looking for a gustatory high, please book a table
Service was perfect, food was excellent, love the room. Piano was a bit loud for older folk who can’t manage ambient noise. We moved a few tables away and the problem was solved. Hate to be high maintenance, but after that, the evening was perfect.
A birthday lunch with girlfriends. We had a terrific time.
We have been big fans of Bacchus for years. It has been our favourite restaurant in Vancouver hands down. But something changed the night of June 6. And not for the better. We went there to celebrate a birthday but the food fell miserably flat—for all of us. The borscht soup was sour and lacked the complex flavour associated with this classic. The risotto was bland and uninspired and the special rib steak was salty and had a mushy texture. Even the toffee pudding lacked a wow factor. We will go back only because this is our first miss at Bacchus. But we were surprised and disappointed. Someone needs to pay closer attention to what’s going on here as this is very uncharacteristic of what is normally an excellent restaurant.
