Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge - Wedgewood Hotel
As you walk into the restaurant, its attention to detail is immediately apparent. You are instantly surrounded by luxury, with richly upholstered furniture, dark wood, and light fixtures personally imported from Venice by founder Eleni Skalbania. These impressive features extend the hotel's brand of elegance. A large canvas depicting Bacchus himself, Greek god of wine and revelry, presides over the room.
Its talented culinary team offers modern French cuisine featuring fresh, West Coast ingredients. A great place to enjoy a truly gourmet, fine dining experience accompanied by live entertainment nightly.
Book your next event at the Wedgewood Hotel in one of our private rooms, including our lavish Library Room in Bacchus Restaurant & Lounge. We can accommodate small meetings in the Library Room or larger events in the Liaisons Room.View Private Dining Details
Always one of my favorite spots for dinner or a cocktail after work. The lounge area is superb - classic ambiance, comfortable seating, live piano music, and excellent service every time I've been. We stopped in for dinner Monday night which was wonderful as usual, and I was reminded how much I hope this place doesn't change!
Seating was terrible, noise level was high and food was not great in my opinion.
I dined at Bacchus before and absolutely loved the food and the experience. Thus, I had high expectations of their brunch menu. However, my friends and I weren’t impressed at all. The food was mediocre for the price that we paid. Perhaps, we’ll come back for dinner and Bacchus will redeem itself!
This is the original fine dining experience. These are rich, traditionally French dishes with service standards that date back decades, if not a couple of centuries. I loved this unrushed, meticulously prepared meal in a nice cozy setting. It reminds me of some of the lovely experiences I've had in Paris or New York. If you're looking for healthy cuisine, you're probably looking in the wrong place, but if it makes you feel better, they won't kick you out for wearing yoga pants.
We had the absolute best experience! We went for our first year anniversary and all the staff greated us with congratulations for our anniversary.
Our waiter Tim was phenomenal. Very patient since we don’t go to fine dining very often, and explained each item we asked about in great detail. We ended up getting the duck ringette to start and my main was the duck cooked two ways. It was the kind of dish you took a bite and had to sit and contemplate how good that bite of food just was.
The bottle service for our bottle of wine was impeccable. Tim was always there when we needed him and made sure we were taken care of. We had this amazing corner booth so my boyfriend and I could sit beside each other and be comfortable.
I can’t reiterate enough how amazing the service, food, and wine was. I loved it all.
My knowledge of language is not developed enough to be able to describe the experience my mouth had. Truly delicious and unforgettable flavours in an exciting environment scored by jazz pianist.
The tenderloin was not of this world and made me question the validity of my own existence.
We went for the Bday dinner: great food, flowless service, relaxed atmosphere
Service, Food and Experience were all top notch. Highly recommended romantic restaurant. Would come back again hands down!
Amazing service, some of the best food available in Vancouver. And truly beautiful space and ambiance.
Me and my friends enjoyed a great Saturday brunch in an intimate setting at Bacchus. The acoustics and decor are really good in this restaurant thus it provides for a convenient and pleasant setting to do a lot of catching up with friends. Our waiter James was humorous, made us feel at ease and provided excellent service. I would definitely go back to Bacchus to try dinner. The Relaix and Chateau hotel property, where Bacchus is situated, is beautiful.
Lovely food, great service, a delightful liner for breakfast into brunch. Not a guest at the hoteland would totally go back just for the food.
It was my partners birthday and we had a very nice romantic dinner. Very good food, good service and great ambiance.
Great food and atmosphere. Service was excellent.
My beef tenderloin was a bit salty.
Excellent menu, presentation and value. Good balance in the menu choices for all eating needs from vegetarian to classics. Most importantly great flavor, look and portion size. Well done for the executive chef.
Was there before Xmas and the food was excellent. Was there yesterday and cobb salad was terrible. I added chicken; it was tasteless and dry. The chopped romaine was all pale green. Im not into overcdresding salads but there wasn’t much to find in this salad. Not worth finishing and not worth the price. Very disappointing after such a great experience afew days before.
the service is exceptionally great!
Eaten here many times ... service was unusually terrible ... great ambience ...
While the decorations and the ambience were good, the food was horrific. I had a vegetarian version of the Cobb Salad. It was a bunch of ice berg lettuce - some slimy - a couple of soggy cherry tomatoes, an over ripe avocado and a cheap bitter blue cheese. Dressing was tasteless. Way over priced - 6.00 for a coffee?! You need to do better on this one...
Family Christmas brunch at our favourite spot
Our seever Simon was great!! For our Christmas Brunch psrty of 5!
Christmas breakfast for a small group of friends as a start to a day of holiday shopping downtown. Great location near the Robson St shopping neighbourhood and the downtown shopping hub of Pacific Centre Mall (The Bay, Holt Renfrew and Nordstrom the large store anchors). Location has the feel of a boutique hotel. Well prepared and good quality food, most locally sourced and more or less organic (such as chicken sausages and free range eggs). A soothingly quiet dining room with a bar and wine tasting/private dining room adjacent and many cozy tables and upholstered banquettes, all with traditional furnishings of 18th and 19th century antiques/reproductions. Attentive and friendly service. Will go again and no hesitation recommending to others.
The food wins everytime. The ambiance at Bacchus is beautiful. I’ll definitely be going there again. I also would love to go for brunch one day soon. All in all loved it!
We all three enjoyed the meal, service and comfort.
Lovely Christmas luncheon get together with lady friends. Perfect- thank you.
Despite booking a reservation the woman checking us in had no record of it. Which was strange. Luckily a table came up in the lounge. Which is where we wanted to be seated.
Love the old world atmosphere of this hotel restaurant. Wonderful traditional decoration, lots of dark wood & old fashioned welcoming hospitality. Salad was fine. Prefer my Cobb salad with a compose styling. Well dressed salad , not soggy . Accommodating in switching out chicken with shrimp to accommodate my allergy. Disappointed there were no carollers at our lunch. I was told there would be. It turns out that’s only on the weekend, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. I specifically chose this restaurant for the carollers! Ah, next year!!
Great upscale dining in good setting.
Ingredients well sourced and prepared.
Faultless tasting dishes
Services was really really slow.
Loved the piano man! Great wine list. Highly recommend.
To celebrate my 70 birthday, my husband and I drove from Seattle to Vancouver for a little get-away. Bacchus is our favorite place to have a celebratory dinner. Everything was excellent, I have some food allergies and the chef accommodated me without any issues.
We don't make it to Vancouver often, but when we do, Bacchus is the place to go!
Excellent place for a festive evening. The piano player was wonderful.
Classy amvbience and great food including cocktails.
If you're looking for amazing quality food then this is the place.
I love going to Bacchus, has been my favorite place to go for years. Have recommended this restaurant too many friends and family and all have said what a wonderful experience it was. If you haven't tried Bacchus time to give yourself and friends a wonderful breakfast, lunch or dinner. All superb.
Great time perfect for a special occasion
Great service worth the money
Great ambiance and excellent service! The food was delicious and the seasonal drinks divine!
The cob salad was tasteless. The lettuce was iceburg rather than a lettuce with flavour and nutrition. The rest was a half avacado and diced chicken. Hugely disappointing and very expensive. Additionally, I booked the table two months ago on Open Table and arrived with my reservation reminder on my phone but no reservation on the restaurant books.
One of our favourite restaurants in Vancouver - great food - great service
And love the atmosphere - piano - lounge - etc.
