Bailey's Restaurant and Lounge
What a wonderful way to spend evenings together with friends, or to unwind after a busy day of work while traveling in the Winnipeg area. An atmosphere rich in history, friendly service, sumptuous appetizers and entrees, fine wines and spirits await you. Whether it be your business luncheon or dinner, pre theatre reservations for dinner early, a special occasion to celebrate, or simply a dinner out on the town, make it Baileys.
Our menu is continental and very diverse. Features include top steaks from our Char Broiler, seafood, and specialties such as our signature rack of lamb. For those with a light appetite, there are many lighter fares to be enjoyed in the more casual setting of our lounge.
Great experience, good food and best of all excellent service!
It was awesome
Went prior to theatre. Very enjoyable.
Came here for a late valentines day dinner. Server was friendly & food (rack of lamb & salmon) was great! They gave us a complimentary piece of cheesecake to end the night as well! Overall great experience
It was a nice evening out. Food is pricy, but good. They forgot my birthday.
First and last time there. The our main course and dessert lacked flavor, the portions were small. We received good service, the dinner was nice and clean. We do not recommend.
Food was ok, the wait for our meals was incredibly long(1hr) and they were busy but not packed.
Was brought water and that was it. Never saw a server again even though every table beside us did
Excellent food and service. Needed to be patient as only one waiter in our section. Never disappointed with our food at this restaurant.
We went for dinner to celebrate a birthday and work achievement for my wife. We have eaten here in the past and it has always been excellent, good service, great food, the décor is a little older but doesn't detract from the overall ambience. Dinner was excellent again, cooked to perfection and our service could not have been any better, our waiter was attentive, engaging, and one of the best I have ever had. We really enjoyed our evening, and with the Ciao Winnipeg on, we ordered off that menu and the cost was more than reasonable. Overall again our experience was excellent and will be back soon again.
Everything about this dining experience was superb. Bailey’s is a Winnipeg institution with an excellent reputation and it lived up to expectations. They offered a creative set of choices for the Dining Out in Winnipeg festival. Everything was well thought through, my steak cooked to perfection.
Appearance stuck in the 1980's, food for the costs vrs quality not there.....wine pricing set ok...service was ok took the men's order first ?? poured the last of the wine in my glass, should of shared it with my wife. we had the bill at the table before dessert was done....This place needs a life line..
Bailey's is certainly a Winnipeg landmark that should be visited. My always food-critical and restaurant-seasoned wife was full of praise. In particular, we liked the somewhat old fashioned attentive attitude of the two waiters on duty. They just appeared at the right time at our table when required and provided a very efficient atmosphere. The food (my wife had jumbo breaded shrimps, I had the mediterranian seefood platter) was well prepared, appetizing to view, seasoned just the right way, and overall enjoyable. This was our second visit (the first one back in 2014) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The price level was rather steep but well justified.
We love Bailey’s. We always go there on our birthdays in January. The food is always delicious and reliable. I had the chicken souvlaki and rib combo, my husband the prime rib and my sister-in-law the lamb chops. I had the beef barley soup which was absolutely delicious, and the others had the salad which was quite a large and equally delicious with their house dressing. Service seem to be a little slower than usual, but still gave us ample time to get to the theater. We will absolutely return to Bailey’s.
Everything was perfect but the seating type was a challenge to eat fron
Great atmosphere for special occasions. Wonderful, personable service but one of the entrees was a bit salty. The complementary dessert was a very much appreciated gesture.
We always love our time at Baileys. Food is always great, love the ambience and the service is always perfect.
Attended Bailey's Restaurant for dinner on New Year's Eve. Set menu for the evening provided a five course meal. Excellent variety of entrees and desserts to choose from. Cost of meal at $75 per person was considered fair considering the excellence of service and quality of the meal. We love this restaurant and we look forward to returning soon.
Bailey's was chosen for our annual office Christmas dinner. Our evening was enjoyed by all. The appetizers were delicious and everyone in our group enjoyed their dinner selections. Would have liked to taste the mushroom soup but unfortunately was sold out. Next time!
We had a great evening with friendsfrom Calgary who loved the food our waiter was awesome .... would come again for sure!!!!
I ordered the seafood special which was Very fishy tasting and packed any distinguishing seafood.
The waiter was abrupt, I found. Could be a little more friendly like he was to the table of 8.
Ambience was very nice. I'd go back as I have had better food there before
Martini was mixed wrong rtd got mngr to make one still not smooth way to much vermouth wouldn’t wait for me to rt it. Meal was terrible rack of lamb was way to fatty. Prime rib burnt on edge and rare in middle asked for medium. Chicken souvlaki was bland. Asked for extra caesar dressing on Caesar salad they brought ranch!! When told waitress she just smiled and gave the bill.
Food was great. Service was slow at the end but otherwise very good.
Our Experience there was very good, The on line booking arrangement did not work out. I booked our table on line (that same morning) for a 5:00 sitting; when we arrived, there was no record of our reservation. Fortunately we were able to get a table, considering it was Xmas party season, I
Really classy venue in the old style of continental restaurants. Food quality was good as was service. Since we were heading off to theater that night was surprised that the service was slow. Our reservation was at 6:45 and we finally got our main course at 8:10 .... MTC a 5 minute walk was at 8:30 so neither of us finished the main course.
I expected an awesome dinner as it was not busy, ordered
the feast the lobster tail was way over cooked and the steak
had no flavour, my daughter ordered steak and lobster, steak was ok, lobster was the same (I was really surprised
that they would deliver a meal to a customer that way) soaked the lobster in butter still did not taste good at all) however they ended up not charging for the lobster!! That was the right thing to do, however I planned on going out for a fabulous meal as I have been here before and the meal was awesome, however for the price we payed and the disappointment of our meal, we will not return!!
The food was great, as always. And great service. However it wasn’t that busy yet we were seated between two other tables with guests. Some space would help with the noise and the experience.
We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. An early October storm kept less committed diners away. It was a perfect evening.
We have been going to Baileys since 1973 as this was the first place our parents got to meet each other prior to our wedding in 1974. Back then it was called Olivers. Since then, we have returned every year at least once or twice a year. It is a special place with special people working their.
Everything was fantastic - thoroughly enjoyable our anniversary dinner.
Celebrated a birthday for a friend from Ottawa. All the meals were delicious. Service was great as usual. Always a special place to celebrate any event.
Wasn't extremely busy at the time of our experience, so this review must be taken accordingly. Everything was more than acceptable and I stand by saying this restaurant should be considered as one of the best in the city!
Great atmosphere and superb service. The prime rib was quite chewy. Texas Roadhouse still has the best at half the price.
Not sure why people go to the Keg and sit around waiting for a table when you have this quality of a restaurant and service and food at the same level or higher.
Marco mad our anniversary special
Excellent food with great friendly service. Quiet on a Monday night so excellent for visiting with our guests. We visit this restaurant every few months and have never had a bad experience.
Superb surroundings, delightful decor, delicious food, wonderful ambience, very helpful staff and fantastic cocktails! Need I say more.....very highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious and wonderful as usual!
