The ambience and quiet atmosphere of the restaurant was a plus. The Pad Thai and Sea Bass were served promptly, was tasty and hot as in temperature. The servers were pleasant and unobtrusive. I would recommend this restaurant.

Nice decor and attentive service. The food was decent. Creative names for the dishes which made the food more interesting e.g. 'Demon's Dare' instead of 'spicy thai beef'. Dishes are overpriced though - would probably only go again if there was a promotion or discount of some kind.

The buffet has enough variety for lunch. What I most enjoyed was the request-to-order Thai soup. The lady was very nice and provides good suggestions. Our two servers were also very attentive and personable. We were slightly disappointed about our table location. We were smacked right beside a big retirement party and it was quite a noisy experience to say the least. We thought we could have been accommodated on the 2nd floor, where it is a bit peaceful or the party could have been there while the rest stayed downstairs. In my opinion (and because of the noise), I see a lot of customers leave and not bother with desserts or coffee. Perhaps the host(s) could have planned this a little better.

This is my second time visiting Bangkok Garden and it was as enjoyable as the first visit. The food was very tasty, great spicing/flavour and nice presentation of the meal. The staff is very friendly, attentive, diligent and accommodating. The lighting in the restaurant gives a nice ambiance to the place (not too bright or dark). This is a great place to visit whether on a date or spending time with friends!

We visit Bangkok Gardens often, because of its tranquil oasis-in-the-city atmosphere, and (usually) excellent food and service. On our most recent visit, last weekend, however, we ordered one of our favourite dishes, the steamed ginger fish -- and were disappointed. Instead of the fresh fish that has usually been served, our rainbow trout turned out to be frozen, without the delicate flavour and texture of the fresh fish. We asked the waiter to pass our critique on to the manager, and hope he did. This is a high-standard restaurant that shouldn't let itself down by cutting corners. (It's also not that far from the St. Lawrence market, where some of the best fish in the city is easily available.) This isn't the first time we were disappointed in this dish, which began on the menu as a delicious fillet of fresh salmon. That, for a time was replaced by farmed tilapia, a very unhealthy choice that we avoided. We had high hopes that the trout would be a return to its original form. Otherwise, the restaurant is as charming as ever, with outstanding and helpful service. It is also one of the few in Toronto where you can reserve a table on a weekend, and spend a relaxing evening in lovely surroundings without having to shout above obnoxious music or compete with people at nearby tables out-screaming the din. We ended dinner by sharing scoops of creamy coconut and mango ice cream and choosing from their bevy of exotic teas. We hope by our next visit that the fish is back to its fine standard.

This is my second time dining here, I do enjoy it and it's close to the Ed Mirvish theatre. The only thing that I had an issue was that I had asked for a mild dish and it was very spicy. The waiter had overheard me making this comment to my friend and asked if it was too spicy. I said yes, but we had limited time because we were seeing a show. I ate my food, but didn't enjoy it as much as I knew I could because it was really spicy!!!

We were seated in a dark corner next to the fire door although the restaurant was virtually empty. The service was friendly and efficient. We ordered 4 dishes, but the table was so small that we had to shuffle the plates for the entire meal just to fit them on the table. The pad thai was very good and the best dish of all the ones ordered. The mango salad was awful. The mango was cut in french fry shapes and so unripe that it was not even half eaten. We complained to the server who said he would mention it to the chef. We never heard anything further. The pattaya grilled chicken and steamed ginger fish were tasty, but not something we would order again. The food is not as good as in past experiences, but the ambiance remains romantic and charming.

Went here on a second date with a woman I'm seeing. I read reviews about the place online and she was the one that suggested it. The place was great. There really isn't anything bad I can say about this place. I showed up and she went in first as I parked the car, the lady who had the reservations clearly knew what was going on and had her stuff in order. She showed my date to a table, when I came in I mentioned who I was and that my date had already been seated she helped me find my date and all was well. Then came the service which was amazing. Our server was constantly checking on us to make sure we were taken care of. Our orders were taken swiftly and out came the appetizers quite promptly. The main course was delicious, she had too much as was un able to finish hers so she had it boxed up and took it home. Dessert was also really good and we managed to get the final two Chocolate Mousse of the night (lucky us). We stayed till the place was pretty much closed, it was a great night. I would definitely come again and recommend to others.

I have been to Bangkok Garden for about 25 years and I have never been dissapointed. In fact I have brought business guests from out of town (from India, China, Latin America and elsewhere) and everyone was very pleased with the ambiance and quality of the food. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to others.

Enjoyed a thai inspired lunch. Tucked away at Elmwood spa. It would be nice if you could dine here with your robe like you would upstairs in their other restaurant. I had the rolls to start which came with a creamy peanut sauce - really good! Followed by their spicy chicken. It was a little too hot for me however still good. Finished off with their banana fritters which hit the spot. The restaurant was empty which was kind of awkward because we were totally alone but this is because we took the last seating at 2:15pm. I would come again and try their regular menu.

Tried Bangkok Garden for the first time in a long time. Have been to some amazing restaurants in the intervening years and was delighted that Bangkok Garden compares favourably. The food was delicious - neither too spicy nor too bland. The presentation was sophisticated and the dining experience was enhanced by the professional and just the right amount of friendly staff. Will definitely not wait so long until I return.

Ok..Had the Mango salad but it could do with more pulled pork. Had the Pad Thai which was yummy. She had the Kingfish which was good too. For Dessert had the cassava cake and mango sticky rice, whih was meh. Cassave cake was much better. The mango sticky rice should not have full pieces of mango. I do think like a mango infused pulp in the rice would have been nicer. Good spot overall...and we would go back!

At first when we went in there, the host told us to wait for a while, while they setup the table (which was a lie), cause we waited for few minutes and end us letting is sit to the table right behind us (which was being setup already). The server was behind on serving the customer, where the host and manager just stand there and looking at the screen and do nothing (which makes the server and customer suffer). We waited for at least 10 mins before the server came. 20 minutes the appetizer finally came. Main course waited for another 20 minutes. Overall, the service was not that great, but I can see that the server tried. Food was hot and taste fine, just took too long to have the food and it does not seems to be busy at 7:30.

Appetizer and desert portions were too small. Main: I had ordered the pad Thai and that was delicious. I had asked for no curry though Naughty little peppers were extremely spicy. Wish they had an option to choose either mild or spicy.

the fish dish that was part of summerlicious was actually inedible. they really need to work on the food.

There are a few Thai places downtown I frequent but they're all pretty busy and loud, Bangkok Garden a bit more dialed down. For a restaurant in the core its pretty spacious and servers were very attentive. Everything came out fast and fresh and the food was great. I eat Thai really frequently and have been to Thailand and tasted there too. I was over all pretty happy with everything I've tried and the level of spice was perfect. My only gripe has been the pad thai which I suspect is made using a mix I see a lot of places using which is way too sweet. However our family enjoyed the meal. Only comment is the fish menu had high fish odor and could have been fried little bit more.

Winterlicious dinner that was terrible to say the least. We were firstly seated in a corner (serving area) at the top that has anthesis decor (with mirrors and the like) to the one at the main level shown in the picture. The appetizer soup with coconut and butternut squash just did not go together. The Naughty little peppers were quite bland. Moving on to the main course, the King fish (is known to be smelly) again did not go with the Tamarind sauce and by now we figured the chef just does not know how to pair food items. The vegetables were frozen-like taste. The only redeeming dish was the Padthai and in hindsight that what we all should have ordered in a Thai restaurant. Duh!!! Looking at the regular prices in the menu, at $25 it was equivalent to ordering the appetizer and main at the regular price and you get dessert free which is quite disingenuous compared to the winterlicious rate which is probably worth it for upscale places like Sass and Susur Lee. All in all keep away.

We were there for winterlicious and upon arrival the hostess informed us that we had limited time for dinner due to many upcoming reservations. I understand it was busy but that's something they should tell you at the reservation not as soon as you arrive! Our server was friendly but forgot water, cutlery, glass for one of us. Food was ok.

We reserved oat 6:15pm, but wasted 20 minutes finding a parking spot. When we got there, the manager told us our reservation was canceled in a very rude manner as we were trying to explain. The winterlicious dinner menu is not so surprising. You ca just get them from PadThai Express. What's worse, for the desserts, we ordered one dark chocolate mousse coconut and another is thai cassava cake with white chocolate dipping sauce. What we got is the identical two dark chocolate cakes! We asked server if they are the same, he is very certain it is not! The tastes are the same too! They are just perfunctory with people who came here for winterlicious! It isn't worthy at all, not even for $25!

Interior of the restaurant was oriental meets Muskoka, very heavy on the wood and is a great escape from the bustle of Toronto. Unfortunately, the food did not keep us at that getaway, was bland and not enough meat and vegetables vs noodles. Best part of Thai food is the flavour and this did not deliver on that part. Still a good location for a date because of the interior.

We arrived and they did not have our open table reservation! I even showed the confirmation # and email and they said it wasn't send. They were very accommodating and found a table for us. Food and service was good. Don't know who to blame for lost reservation though? Clarissa

We celebrated our anniversary at the Bangkok Garden. The lovey ambiance made it a romantic and special occasion. The wine was very good and good value with half price Sundays. Our server was charming and the food excellent. Would recommend for any occasion.

I recommended the restaurant to my date and he really liked it. He already mentioned returning to the restaurant. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, the food was good and the noise level was low enough that we could hear each other easily. Overall it was a great experience.

4 of us ate here the other night. Food was good, service was good and the bill was reasonable. The ambiance was slightly lacking because the restaurant was very quiet. Had it have been busier, I think this would have been much better, although this is not necessarily the restaurants fault as it was Sunday night in holiday season

Jeremy our server was attentive but not overly. Food was excellent, well presented savoury. The shrimp in the curry and pineapple dish were not over cooked, as was the chicken in the cashew chicken dish. The fresh spring rolls and mango salad were also nicely prepared. My girlfriend said this is her new favorite restaurant. I would definitely go back again.

I booked a table for 6 on Friday, December 19, and at the last minute, two of my colleagues decided to join us. How could I refuse them, especially during the Christmas time? Knowing there was no any vacancies at the restaurant, we still went there to test our luck. The hostesses were super friendly, and they tried to accommodate us. Eventually, 8 of us were sat at one table and all of us had a great time together. The restaurant deserve a five-star rate just because of this! For the menu, I have to tell the readers that Bangkok Garden is my favorite Thai restaurant even since I found it. The dishes are authentic, flavorful, and delicious. I have been here many times. Unlike other buffet places, their lunch buffet menu changes from time to time and there are many vegetarian choices as well, definitely the best choice for groups from a multi-culture organization. Their dinner menu is so yummy that all of you should not miss! My favorite dishes are the beef sate, basil scallops and stir-fry eggplants (side dish). You can also choose your own level of spiciness. Bangkok Garden is my best choice that I recommend to my friends and colleagues whenever they are at downtown chore.
