Our philosophy of contemporary Spanish cuisine has its roots in the traditional Spanish Cocina – meaning, tapas to larger plates that include the recipes and ingredients from the Iberian Peninsula. Barsa's menu is designed to also pay tribute the avant garde movement of the Nueva Cocina Española in what we call contemporary Spanish gastronomy.
At Barsa, art is not optional. It’s our salt and pepper, we think Gaudi, dare Dali and play Picasso. We are housed in a 19th century heritage protected building where internationally acclaimed designer John Tong has recreated the atmosphere of Barcelona, while paying tribute to the City’s culture and immortalized artists.
Barsa story and concept was derived by Toronto native Aras Azadian’s passion and inspiration to recreate the atmosphere and experience of his time living in Barcelona and his travels through the Iberian Peninsula

Restaurant was nice, portions were small but typical for tapas
Great live background spanish guitar music on Thursday evening ... much better and quieter than the music played when the guitar player wasn't playing.
Excellent tapas and patio setting. Attentive staff.
As always the experience at Barsa was terrific. Food was great, staff friendly and accommodating. Look forward to my next visit!
Brunch on the Patio! Menu is smaller however both items ordered (eggs benny/pancakes) were excellent! Service was great as well, server genuine and engaged, made the experience that much better. Reasonable price point, Will go back for sure!
Soo amazing. Every bite is so amazing. Going with 4 people is great because you can try more dishes.
Great food, value and ambience, I highly recommend it....
If you've been out to dine in Spain itself, you will be disappointed. If you don't have a frame of reference, you will probably rather like it!
Service was great! She had great timing and the right amount of engagement while being sincere. Patio atmosphere is excellent, private however still close to a busy street. Margaritas in pitcher were a bit watered and would probably not order them again. Will go back in the future for food and service!
We dined here before a show at Sony Centre. The food was terrific. Lots of options, especially when sharing small plates. The sangria was marvelous- there are only small or large pitcher options, so, come thirsty. Despite a busy Friday crowd, the service was great. Can't wait till get back here.
Outstanding tapas paella and sangria....plus the pitcher of mojitos was pretty good too.
We went to Barsa Taberna for dinner before the Seal concert at the Sony Centre. Barsa Taberna is a Tapas Bar. We were pleasantly surprised with the food, the atmosphere and the great service having experienced other (and lesser) supposed Tapas bars. The Tapas are outstanding, particularly the octopus and seafood paella. The servings are ample. They wine selection is outstanding. Our server, Tabatha knows the menu and quickly made great recommendations. We live in Oakville and will definitely take the train in to Toronto for dinner here again. A must visit restaurant!
Good food. Paella is as good as you can get in Spain. Good appetizers too. Very nice dessert. The music has reminded me more of Mexico than Spain though.
After going to St Lawrence Market on Saturday mornings for years, I have often walked past this restaurant but never have parteken given that I was on a 'Saturday morning errand' run.
What a find! Personally I love Spanish food and tapas generally, but this retaurant has a lovely menu, tremendous ambiance and lovely service.... oh: and the night we wnet the cocktails were half price. What's not to love??
They increased their prices. As of today, their website menu prices do NOT correspond with the prices printed in their menus at the physical restaurant.
Sweet service & tasty food😋
Have a good Father‘s Day dinner in a quiet place❤️
Only the brunch menu was available, so we didn't get to try more of their dishes. Kale and quinoa salad was quite disappointing and not worth the money. But the fried chicken sandwich was v gd.
Came here before seeing a theatre show nearby. The empanadas were unexpectedly small for the price. Luckily, my friend paired it with another dish and sampled some of mine, but perhaps when they took our order they assumed we were sharing everything. The food was of good quality though, and the service was great. Given the expense, I wouldn't come back again soon.
Great experience!! We had the $65.00 tasting menu and it was awesome!! I highly recommend the tasting menu if it is your first time. It will allow you get the feel of the food in the restaurant! The sangria was so bomb! The server was very friendly, polite and attentive! I highly highly recommend this restaurant!! Definitely, will be a regular customer!
We were pleased. Cous cous under lamb ribs was too sparse and would have appreciated more vegetables with the dish.
The food was terrible. Cooked mixed Ceviche with spicy popcorn? It was a hot mess with soggy popcorn floating In lime juice with just mussels. I feel incredibly ripped off. Service was horrible, instead of bringing out all four of our tapas it was one at a time. We ordered 2 drinks, 4 pathetic tapas and it costed me over $100. I will NEVER come here again.
Food was good but not for the value and portion. Can’t belive we paid almost $20 for potatoes with ketchup and mayo.
We did the tasting menu and the food was very good. I guess two comments. 1. the food came out at a very odd pace. Two things quickly, then a long wait, one more course and then not a long wait....2. I was surprised the tasting menu did not have any of the charcuterie or cheeses offered.
Sat on the patio this time. Really pleasant. Service could have been a little faster but a lovely brunch.
Terrible menu....there are only a small number of items available at less than $15 so this is a really pricy menu. Food was ho -hum. Half a jug/2 glasses of sangria was $28. Took the waiter an hour to take our food order
Amazing food - some of my all time favourite dishes. Especially the steak crudo and the grilled octopus
Service was really quite slow... understaffing?
Great place to sit on the patio! Sangria selection was amazing we ended up trying 4 different sangrias!
Food was good and the service was excellent!
One thing to note, If booking on opentable the restaurant doesn’t open till 11:30am but opentable let’s you book at 11. The restaurant was accomodating and let us sit down and have a drink while we waited!
I went to Barsa Taberna on a friend’s recommendation and was not disappointed. All dishes we tried were delicious. We had Pan con Tomate y Manchego; Gambas con Ensalada de Cebada; Patatas Bravas; Tabla de Chirozo. The Chirozo was a good portion. 3 grilled sausages each with a different flavour and a little bit of pork belly. Each type was full of flavour. The shrimp were slightly spicy, but not overly so. The Patatas served with a lemony aioli is a generous portion as well. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and they have a large patio to enjoy when the weather is nice.
All was great. We had very friendly attentive and informative service. Presentation was outstanding. Ambience was just right for most occasions. It's convenient to transit and parking is available close by. I regularly recommend Barsa Taberna as a great Tapas restaurant.
We went to Barsa on a whim and we very impressed. The staff were very accommodating and friendly as soon as we walked in. Have the chili margarita! Actually the cocktails are excellent - have whatever looks good :) but the margaritas and sangria are amazing.
We sat at the bar and ordered tapas; fun ambience and the food came out quickly and was flavorful and the portions good for two people sharing three or four things.
We will definitely be back - a fun and sexy spot for a date!
The food was exceptional. There was a little miscommunication early on in our visit as we were taken to the wrong reservation and then brought someone else's food. But after that it was flawless. We unknowingly spent almost 2 hours sampling the menu and drinking white sangria, we lost track of time! Really tasty and would definitely recommend for tapas and drinks.
The food and the service was amazing! Would definitely come back again.
The restaurant was very good just the prices are little expensive compare to the product.
Very accommodating. Delicious food. Great atmosphere.
We had yet another awesome dinner experience at Barsa. I highly recommend the tasting menu, they were able to accommodate four diners with one ovo-lacto vegetarian and one carb-limited. Prepare to get surprised and delighted.
Always a good meal but last night was a little loud. But it was not the restaurant's fault, patrons were having a lot of lively conversation and there was a private party at the bar
The food at Barsa was really nice. We started off with the pan con tomate with jamon Serrano and the charcuterie platter which were both very good. We also had the clams which had a really garlicky, yummy broth, and the grilled octopus. All the dishes were very tasty and enjoyed by everyone. I would definitely come back.
too noisy and food is just ok-so so..
I don’t think we will go back.
It was very good. More noise than I would have liked, but everything else was great! I highly recommend this place
Pre-theatre reservations for 5:30 PM and no problem being promptly seated and getting out in time for a short stroll to the Sony Centre
Very helpful wait staff and wonderful food. We went for tapas and since white wines were 50% off that night we tried to select dishes that would go with the white wine. Selected one of the suggested Spanish whites and it was very good, also excellent value. Chose a variety of dishes two at a time and shared so we each had lots of variety. Service was attentive and dishes were brought to the table smoothly replacing finished servings. Wine glasses were topped up without delay. Started with the warm olives and finished with the warmed olives and finished with the Manchego cheese with dates and olive oil accompanied by a sherry. In between we had the clams with garlic, chile shrimp, scallops and potatoes and tomatoe sauce (see menu for details). I wish we had another couple with us so we could have tried more dishes. The oysters, tuna, trout and Iberian ham looked really tempting but we had plenty. Only suggestion and its a small one; I expected more selections of sherry.
