The staff were awesome - great beer recommendations and very accommodating. The food was very nice, a little pricey, but we recognize that the ingredient were fresh & local.
Heading back today!!
Delicious food before our Mirvish plau
Food amazing. Beer great. Wine is way overpriced. Music a little loud. Service is fast and friendly.
Great place for good food, beer and just a relaxed ambiance.
Although we enjoyed our food here during Winterlicious, we felt very pressured to complete our total order at one time and then rushed through. We arrived at 6 and before 6:30 we had eaten both the appetizer and the main! too fast- not time to relax and just enjoy a bit of our drinks. We told them to slow it down- we were not in a huge rush. I would try it again as the food was tasty.
BTW Our waitress needs to be taught the proper pronunciation of several Scotch names.
Nice place, good quality food - buck a shuck was delicious!!
Went for winterlicious for a workday lunch. Food was really tasty, we all enjoyed our meals, and presentation was lovely, but service was quite slow. Especially for a prix fixe menu, we waited 20 minutes for appetizer and 20 minutes for dessert to arrive.
I had visited Batch House during Winterlicious 2020.
I ordered the:
Potted Shrimp - SO GOOD.
Bangers and Mash (bratwurst sausage, creamy mash, apple gravy) - the portion size of this dish was very filling, it came with two full size sausages on a bed of mash drizzled with apple gravy. Unfortunately the sausages lacked flavour.
Brownie sundae (vegetarian) vanilla ice cream, whiskey toffee, popcorn - The desert was a little disappointing as I only received crumbles of brownie underneath the ice cream... I felt I was just served a scoop of vanilla ice cream instead.
Overall, I'm glad I checked this place out only during winterlicious and not on a regular day... not really worth it.... or maybe I would go back just for the potted shrimp :)
Winterlicious lunch was good. The parsnip soup was delicious, but scant. I had trout which was good and an enjoyable slice of blueberry cheese cake. No coffee or tea was included, so I ordered a regular tea à la carte at the ridiculous and unreasonable price of $4.00! The $4.00 covered a tea bag and hot water.
Great wait staff.
Great restaurant will definitely come back again. Wonderful winterlicious meal. Thank you!!!!
we went for winterlicious and the food was great but took about an hour to come out
Great ambience. Lovely décor and attentive service.
Fantastic beer on draft (Urbock - probably the most delicious beer I've had in years). I also loved the mushroom toast.
It's a nice addition to the downtown core for pre-gatherings at night or post-work fun.
This is a great spot for a quick bite and beer. The portions were on the larger side, service was friendly and efficient.
Great food very well presented
Winterlicious menu was expertly handled by who every created the menu and the kitchen, especially the Winter Caprese, Braised Beef and Passion Fruit dessert.
FOH didn't do much to add to the experience, but did keep the restaurant moving at a good pace on what was clearly a very busy night. Understandable as it was the first night of winterlicious.
All in all we've talked this place up with friends already and look forward to returning.
Long wait for a table despite booking early and coming on time. Food was great!
We went for Winterlicious and had a wonderful meal. Delicious entrees, starters and dessert. Loved the Mushroom Toast and Winter Eton Mess! Good value, excellent service.
Excellent experience. Music level to loud for lunch time.
Foot was excellent and worth the trip, the service was excellent, however the food takes a long time to arrive. You may want to plan accordingly
I tried this place when it opened 4 or 5 years ago. Was not impressed and did not go back till this week. Don’t know what or how they did but it is working. Food is great the service was superb. It at be come a regular spot since I live in the area.
Arrived on time and was seated immediately. My server suggested a beer and his decision did not disappoint. Great start! Our table of 3 had oysters and wings for appetizers and also a burger, chicken sandwich, and bangers for mains. I didn't hear any complaints. Everything was delicious. Area at the rear was vibrant but not too loud. We could definitely carry on our conversation over the energy of the nearby tables. Overall, a wonderful evening out with friends for food and drinks!
Great place with great service. I saw a fire reviews for the chicken sandwich and will agree that it is the best sandwich I have ever had.
The overall ambiance of Batch is homey and cute. Our server was super friendly and helpful. The brekkie sandwich is TO DIE FOR. Both my friend and I had it and both agreed it was the best breakfast sandwich we have ever had! The side salad it comes with is tasty too. And you can never go wrong with a mimosa and screwdriver at brunch. This is the perfect spot for brunch in downtown Toronto and I highly recommend. Cheers!
Great cocktails, food and service!
Great drinks, wonderful beers and fabulous cocktails. Food was outstanding. Melt in your mouth. Service was excellent. One of the best restaurant experiences that I have had in a long time.
I’d only recommend for someone who likes a casual place with lots of noise. If you want a dinner where you can hear each other across the table, try elsewhere. Food was okay.
Not what it used to be (maybe a year or more ago?). The menu has changed and prices have gone up significantly.
The place wasn’t busy but the service seemed overwhelmed. They were nice but not terribly efficient. The food was reasonable and at a good price point.
Good selection of food. Today’s lunch was a bit rushed but that was because of large groups Christmas lunches. Didn’t want to get left behind in the kitchen. Once food was served. Drinks and time moved slower. Which we preferred. Would try it again or suggest it to some other people. Initial smell is very hoppy. But it soon goes away once you get used to it.
Great food with friendly and helpful service. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately and offered a sample of the evening's wine special - which we loved and ordered. The sea bream was delicious and served with perfectly balanced sides - no fries nor rice in sight!
The Batch was a lovely way to start a an evening out with friends before going on to the theatre. Will definitely return again. Oh! And it was very reasonably priced!
We went to Batch for brunch but also enjoyed the beer and mimosas. Service was great. I ordered the pancakes, my son had the French toast and my husband the batch breakfast. Everything was delicious. I even had a side order of the salmon pastrami which was unbelievable I’ll definitely return on my next trip for the pastrami sandwich I just could eat both at one visit!!
Food was good. The fries were amazing. Lamb burger was too sweet because of the caramelized onions.
Great brunch (had the hash with brisket and poached eggs) which was so delicious. Wonderful caesars and attentive service. Beautiful decor. No idea why this place wasn’t busier for Sunday brunch because they really do a great brunch and it’s a nice vibe.
Service and food was very good. It was pretty empty, there were plenty of better places to seat us, but they put us in a dark corner behind a pillar. We didn’t complain, service and food were still very good.
Really great experience and not rushed. Great service, decent food and really relaxed atmosphere
Only criticisms are the relatively limited menu, and a pretty strange cocktail selection.
Great food. Great service.
Location is near the theatre district, large beer and drinks selection, interesting food offerings. The server said they were popular for their sandwiches, got the Fried chicken sandwich… The flavours were really good and unique, but execution was off. It was way too well done and dry. Overall a small cute spot if you’re looking for pre-or post theatre drinks.
Amazing once again. The food never disappoints and the server, Aaron, went above and beyond. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and made sure we were all enjoying ourselves. Can’t wait to return.
