Unfortunately, i have to provide a negative review :( I have giving negative reviews but one needs to be fair to all others coming.
We arrived and were greeted by a gracious hostess, and later served by a great waitress, But the food was the issue.
We ordered the spinach dip with tortilla chips and the spinach dip was sweet!
I ordered the ceaser salad and the dressing was literally sour! My wife ordered the the ahi tuna and asked for it to be rare to medium rare, she received a medium well dry ahi tuna. I ordered the NY 12 striploin steak medium rare which i also received medium well, with a baked potato which was actually good and a sampling of vegetables that were completely bland.
We dared and ordered a chocolate cake which was gluten free as my wife is syliac and surprisingly that was good, but when I ordered a cappuccino I received a cup filled to the top with what seemed like Arabic coffee with 1% foam. I asked maybe to change it to a Latte and received the same drink minus the foam in a tall glass!!
We were so disappointed I don't mind spending $150- on a meal without alcohol mind you, but it better be good. We can not recommend Baton Rouge and unfortunately will not be coming back.....
Everything was great. As soon as we walked in they greeted us and after quickly verifying our vaccination status, we were escorted to our table. We had two nice waiter/waitress always looking after us. The food was quick to aarive and it was yummy! My kids were very pleased. The main courses were big and delicious. I had a nice glass of shiraz to go with my steak. We had dessert and it was also super good. The ambience was nice and we always felt safe. Will be back!
Everything was awesome, food was great, service was great. Just was a little shocked when we got the bill, cause we had 4 tequila shots, and those for 4 were $92 a little crazy!! Other then that it was good
The ribs are amazing and the spinach dip with chips is also amazing
We hd really nice time, the service was really professional. Our server Kristina was super helpful and took care of all our requests patiently. We weren’t too happy with the food taste and also was little disappointed with the food combination, especially with no option to get two lobster tails, which was normal at other steakhouses. Our server Kristina managed to create the combination for us with some extra cost. Overall we completely loved our time and would definitely visit again.
The food and the wait staff were excellent.
The restaurant, however, was not observing provincial covid directives. Our Vaccination Passport wasn't scanned using the app. Every table in our section was full. Other patrons were moving around the space unmasked. There was no way that there was room for 2 meters to be maintained. Even the glass partitions, which clearly provided no protection and only separated the booths from each other, didn't actually meet the top of the booth seat.
I won't be back here until after the pandemic, if ever. It's too bad. The food and the waiters were so good.
Overall, it was okay. Our waitress was very friendly, but another server brought out the hot meals and the salad oddly followed behind about ten minutes later and the other server seemingly didn’t inform our waitress that he hadn’t completed the order. Another patron sitting several tables away from us was swearing loudly throughout our service. While he doesn’t work at the restaurant, the fact that no one addressed his behaviour was disappointing. This was lunchtime on a Tuesday and there were a few tables in this section of the restaurant where there were children present. The food was a large portion but rather expensive compared to similar style restaurants.
Thank you to the team for the great service. We didn’t feel rushed and appreciated their patience. Merry Christmas 🎄
It is an annual tradition for us to meet our friends there and it has been two years so really nice we had the time we wanted to connect.
Service from Chris was exceptional and more than made up for the less than spectacular food.
Would have been nice if they had sanitizers at the table
Really loud environnement and the waiter was rushing me to eat while he had a party if 15 that didn't eat yet the shrimp still hard as rock since 2012
We were seated next to a large group that were extremely loud, would have been nice if we were sat somewhere else or told the large group to be mindful of other guests. Waitress was very nice and friendly, food was good
The food as always was amazing! It was great overall.
Good food ! Good service!
Good meal but underwhelming at the price point. Could’ve gotten the same steak at Kelsey’s.
The ambience and seating were very good. The waiter displayed an attitude and was not very accommodating. The food was good and timely. The bottle of white wine was not chilled and we had to wait until we started our meal to be able to enjoy it. Even then it was only adequately chilled. Unfortunately I do not believe we will go back
Great food , fast and friendly service .
Great overall experience.
We were so happy to go back there after so many years of being regulars, however the food quality had deminished.
To begin, only half of the dinner party was screened for vaccination status.
A staff member spilled water all over the table and at first laughed and then barely muttered an apology. One diner had water in her purse and her pants were soaking wet. The table was comped a coffee and a tea for the inconvenience.
The chicken was not cooked properly and resulted in gastrointestinal issues.
The restaurant was notified that it was a birthday celebration and in the past, a piece of cake was included for the birthday diner. On this visit, the celebration was ignored.
This location's standards have dropped considerably since covid. We will never visit again.
Was a very large price, for a very small steak.. tough, and appearance was poor..
Not likely to return
Food was delicious service was very good and fast would definitely come back.
Overall would recommend with one comment - wheelchair accessibly is lacking at entrance - both automated door openings did not work and lowered curb was not in a convenient location
It was nice the whole experience
there was an error with our food order. it was handled with no problem by great staff.
Baton Rouge Restaurant has always been our restaurant of choice for birthday celebration of friends and family. During covid and lockdown we were forced to hold small celebration at home, but; were excited to resume the old tradition that we continue to enjoy. Food, ambience and staff have always been great. The friendly and attentive staff makes it easy to decide to return time and time again.
Food was great but service was very slow we waited half an hour before someone took our order
So good! Really enjoyed the meal.
Very noisy inside and no music.
Waitress seemed off. Had to keep repeating our order. Had to cover our drinks so her long hair didn’t go in it as she reached across the table. Seated next to the server bar which was noisy with staff. Ambiance was killed.
The ribs were good but the chicken tenders were not good. The batter was too thick compared to the strip of chicken and no seasoning was in the batter. Ordered creme brule... didn't have it available ...and it was not sold out as it was a lunch meal. I understand that the situation is not ideal to have everything in stock due to the pandemic. I commend the waiter.
I met an old friend for dinner and our food and servers were fantastic! The flavours of each dish was great, even the sides. There were a few birthdays that were a little loud when they arrived but otherwise the ambiance was nice. The restaurant was not full with good spacing in place, which was nice for feeling safe during COVID. The meal was not inexpensive, but we were both full after splitting an appetizer (calamari) and each having a glass of wine and meal. I enjoyed the surf and turf with shrimp, and my friend loved her power bowl. We were too full for dessert but the options looked good. I’d come back to this location! It would be good for a business dinner, anniversary dinner or gourmet meal for a reunion with a friend.
First time back after isolation. Much better than my last experience two years ago.
Simply put, the food was great and our server was very personable and professional. However, we were seated in an area with four large parties (min. 15 people each) and the noise level was overwhelming. We had a partially-deaf member at our table and she was unable to hear most of our conversation. We eventually asked to be moved to a quieter spot.
The food was good and ambience was nice. However there was plastic pieces in my one year olds ice cream. My wife and her were sharing it and my wife noticed a few pieces in the bites she took and was obviously able to pull them out (which is how she noticed). But my daughter though cannot pull pieces of plastic out her mouth when she's eating.
Everything was good basically up until that point. If that didn't happen we would have left happy, but that's the thought that's stuck in our head of our Baton Rouge experience.
Food quality has gone down tremendously. Especially the spinach dip and chips. So disappointing.
Place has gone down hill.
Great food and service
It was my daughters birthday and they made us very special!!
The ribs were enjoyable. Tasted great but I found that not in particular this location but with all Baton Rouge locations the Ribs are not the same size as they were and prices have gone up
The food was good, but this is what I expected, as I ate there pre-covid.
The service was also excellent, as usual. Not intrusive, but always alert to our needs.
Would definitely go back.
