“My vision for Bauhaus has always been that we never stand still and move forward, getting better and better. I am very excited to have both Chef Tim Schulte and Chef David Mueller join as Bauhaus’ executive team. They are both young, creative, and exceptionally talented chefs.” - Uwe Boll

Bauhas has amazing ambiance and environment, and is a very spacious interior. The restaurant owner came to personally greet us and ensure that we were having a great time. The food was fantastic and beautifully presented.
Still much to do for a Michelin star. Amuse was the best. Such multi layered taste is yet to be accomplished for the mains.
Excellent food and very attentive staff. Clean modern decor
Very - very load restaurant with even louder disco music, had to ask Mgmt to turn volume down, staff wine training is needed - with 2 acknowledged chefs in the kitchen, I expected a better fixed 4 course dinner - dishes had components that was not complementing each other’s flavor - restaurant has fallen short in their attempt to create a gastro experience, perhaps concentrating on good German food would have me return
This was our first time at the restaurant and we had a wonderful time. We went there because I heard on the radio it was Vancouver's #1 most romantic restaurant and seeing that it was our 40th Anniversary it seemed to be a perfect fit.
However I was seated facing the bar and did not find it exceptionally romantic. My husband was facing the window overlooking the trees and historic building across the street, we should have switched seats 😕
Our waitress was very friendly and at the end of the meal were given a complimentary glass of champagne.
The owner came over and introduced himself and was very friendly and welcoming!
The only one thing that I would have changed was the little appetizer they gave us at the beginning. It was such a ridiculously small amount I would of rather not have had it at all. I believe it would be beneficial to the restaurant to at least double the amount as it almost seemed a bit insulting to us.
Overall it was a nice evening.
Wonderful experience. Chef Tim and David outperformed one more time themselves and the service from Damien and Luke was par to the quality of the meal. I have tried most Michelin stat restaurants in Paris and I still put Bauhaus as my favourite restaurant in Vancouver. Well done!
This was such a disappointment! We are foodies and anticipated a much better meal.
I had the corn soup with mussels and could not detect any corn flavor. My main was the pasta with mushrooms and the pasta was touch - the mushrooms were nearly raw and the total taste was not savory. My husband had the rib roast - the meat was very fatty and lost it's appeal after two bites. We shared the dessert - the chocolate rib on top of the shortbread cookie. I've had much better! The shortbread seemed soft and the chocolate was sub par. Too bad to spend so much money on such a poor meal.
Great food and service. Nice to see the boss still making the rounds and chatting with patrons.
Outstanding food. funky / slightly dodgy locale. Hip interior. But not cheap. I’d 100% come back again with my spouse or for work - but not with my family of 8!
Extraordinary. One of the best meals in the city by any standard. A flawless 4-star environment and fascinating culinary presentations that go well beyond the menu descriptions. Old school classy vibe.
Amazing food - both on the West Coast inspired menu and the traditional German dishes. Great and friendly service who were attending to us diligently. It was an unbelievable meal and all around wonderful evening. I highly recommend it!
Absolutely Amazing. We always do the tasting menu with wine pairing.
Doesn’t live up to the promise. Pretentious with attention to detail lacking. Pricing is at higher end of market but the experience falls short.
The best eating experience in a 20 week trip to Canada but fails to meet international standards.
The owner came to each and every table to greet his customers, which I find a welcoming gesture. The food was creative to say the least and you will come to appreciate the creativity and knowledge of the chef. The food was nicely put together and the waiters and waitresses did a great job explaining the composition of the food, which make the dining experience quite enjoyable.
The tasting menu is amazing, and it changes regularly so you never get bored
Everything was fine except the time we had to wait for the food and between dishes. The service was very profesional and the food was very good
The unexpected is always THE best experience; I had read up on Bauhaus and chose it as one of two restaurants for our stay in Vancouver; it was one of the best experiences in all our travel out of the States and near our home in NYC; best value tasting menu and wine pairings were different and superb; thank you Kevin, thank you Vancouver; you are so lucky!
This is seriously a Michelin ready Restaurant!
I love traveling for food and so happy we had reservations here. The food was spot on. The flavors and textures were a great combination.
You really can taste the passion these chefs have for their food.
This is definitely not a place you’ll want to miss while on Gastown in Vancouver.
We did the 6 course tasting menu.
Our waitress Amber was very upbeat and on her toes the whole evening.
Don’t miss out!
We went to celebrate our daughter‘s birthday. We all took the tasting menu, one vegetarian (ordered the day before).
It was astonishing good. I had great expectations but it was even better.
Our waiter was the best waiter we had experienced for very long. He was knowledgeable, easygoing, kind and giving exactly the right amount of info. Very impressing.
A dinner to remember. We will be back.
The food was ok. Kind of greasy. Service was the worst. Never checked on us. Always waiting on them to come even though there was only 3 tables there.
As always Bauhaus was marvelous. The food was delicious, the staff and service was charming and the attention of management to customer concerns was on the mark.
Perfectly good food but I was expecting something a bit more "wow". The server forgot our bread. The meal was fine but not exceptional.
Again a great experience. Great mix on the menue of authentic German food and new creations. Nice decor if you like minimalistic style. Food brilliant and we had a nice server.
However it's a bit noisy, and people are not shy to use their HP making calls, which for me is a big no no in a restaurant that class.
Also the main course was served by a
waiter, who likely came back from his smoking break and the smell of cigarettes with the great food did not mix well
Probably some of the best food I’ve had in the city. Everyone really liked their dishes. Great service as well. Would definitely come back.
One of th best restaurants in Vancouver that I’ve dined at. Beautiful space, delicious and expertly prepares food and attentive service. Highly recommend.
The ambiance and food was fantastic, however my spouse and I were celebrating our anniversary and have to say we were a bit disappointed as everything we read advised this was not a child friendly restaurant (we were there until after 9pm) and there was a 3year old child that was fairly noisy and getting up and down from the table. The food is fantastic (and worth the cost $) but disappointing when you hire a sitter to have an evening out childless.
Wonderful meal of German comfort food classics - pork roast and wienerschneitzel, accompanied by a great BC cabernet franc! And great service to boot. Highly recommended.
It may have been us. We arrived early and they were able to seat us. Our appetizers were two of the most amazing tastes ever for corn chowder and I had the burrata. Superb! We thought our dinner was going to be the same. Now we did go to a German restaurant and ordered Wiener Schnitzel. First, everyone says Americans prepare large meals. This was an insane amount! And to top it off, no flavor, over cooked and just average. Service was some of the best I have ever seen.
Love this place. They just recently changed their tasting menu, so decided to return for our 4th time. Amazing from beginning to end!
The tasting menu timing was a little disappointing. Took at least 15min between courses.
We had been to Bauhaus before, but this was the first time we were here for lunch. The service was great as always, and the lunch menu was interesting, making it difficult to choose! We ordered the Burrata, Roastbeef and the lunch special, which was Schnitzel paired with beer. All 3 dishes were outstanding, there´s no other way to put it. We love Bauhaus because it never ceases to amaze us.
We also got a special dessert, as we were celebrating my husband´s birthday. The entire experience was amazing and we look forward to our next visit.
Thanks Bauhaus team.
The service was excellent we were immediately greeted warmly and congratulated on our anniversary which was a lovely touch. The food was really nice and creative and the wine list was good. They also do tasting menu and wine paring which we didn’t try but based on their a la Carte menu I’m sure it would be good.
My friend group all got the 6 course meal and it was amazing. The staff really went above and beyond for us as well. Really great experience and highly recommended.
The service and food were excellent, they made sure we were comfortable, all the way through, even had reading glasses for me. Food was Top Notch and atmosphere was superb...would definitely recommend to everyone!!
We got the tasting menu and it was amazing.... the bad side is the waiting time in between each dish. We waited like 10 min approx in order to get the next dish.
The service was also very good, the waitress was very attentive and explained the dishes in details
We booked for our 12th anniversary and Bauhaus definitely lived up to our expectations. As soon as we sat down and mentioned what we were celebrating, they brought us 2 glasses of champagne to toast! Overall our server was knowledgable, attentive and very personable. We decided to do the tasting menu which was creative, delicious and filling. They were very accommodating with my dietary restrictions and accommodated them immediately. The octopus was perfectly cooked along with the rockfish and lamb. And at the end of the night they brought us a complimentary dessert. It was a perfect meal and we will be back! Thank you Bauhaus!
Excellent food and service. The schnitzel was very delicious, surprisingly light and a generous size. We also really enjoyed the deconstructed black forest cake. We will be back.
The food was delightful and inspired. Portion size was good, not big but not the small size that you generally get at more expensive restaurants. Good room between tables to allow you to have your own conversations.
We really enjoyed our evening. Usually we have the tasting menu but our guests wanted ala carte. We were not disappointed. Amber was pleasant and knowledgeable.
My dad is Austrian and loved his Schnitzel.
We’ll definitely be back.
We were excited to try Bauhaus but the first thing we experienced walking through the door was an argument between the hostess and one of the managers. Instead of apologizing they kept fighting and then the hostess was clearly angry. Zero smile and felt like a chore to seat us. The manager was also at fault as it’s not professional to do that in front of guests. It started the entire experience off on the wrong foot. We doubt we will come back as we were not that impressed with the food. Our person server was good but a bit slow. Food was ok but don’t plan on returning. Checked Bauhaus off our list...onto something new.
