Un poco lento el servicio de cocina , pero al llegar los platos a la mesa , cada minuto de espera vale la pena .

Great location and ambiente. As appetizers we had the smoked steelhead, the aged Parmesan and some bread. All really delicious and beautifully put on the plate. The bread was amazing German break. As main course we had the Wiener Schnitzel, a side of cheese spätzle and the quinoa cannelloni. Again authentic German, cretive and really good Quality! The owner came several times to check in with us and we had a great service as well! Definitely recommendable!

Bauhaus never ceases to delight and please the palate. Fresh, inventive cuisine where you can taste the layers of individual flavours and marvel at how the chefs imagined to combine them! We thoroughly enjoyed the 4 course tasting menu. The onsen egg was truly sensual experience! The excellently prepared beef tongue was slightly crusted and carmelized and served in combination with a medium rare steak. Presentation was pleasing and not overdone. Allen's service was friendly and impeccable as always. Even though the noise level was more "energetic" than we usually like (as oldsters), we could still enjoy our conversation. We'll be back with our most discerning friends!

The food was good, but not at the caliber that it should for that price point. The beer selection appalling (this whole BC liquor store excuse doesn't cut it as I have seen cases at my local Burnaby store of paulaner and schneiderweiss). Food was good (apparently the sole was bland) we had the schnitzel and although I didn't like the German potato salad rendition, it was a good stand alone dish. desert for 50% of the table was great (I did mention how bland mine was...) and on the way home my hubby needed to make an emergency stop for a bathroom...... So it was not bad BUT not good either.

The place was hopping but it was very noisy with loud music to boot so it was very difficult to speak to my dinner partner. It is not a relaxing place to enjoy fine dining, although the service and food was very good. For the high price point, I would hope to get a more quiet and relaxing dining experience. This was a gobble and go

It was a year since I took a big group of people to Bauhaus Restaurant and we had a wonderful evening. This time was a complete disappointment The food was really poor. We had the rouladen which were dried out and bland. Our waiter was attentive but not outstanding and we really were disappointed with the whole experience. What happened did the chef change?

Overall really a nice place. The staff were great: friendly, professional . The salad ordered was terrific, how ever the main of Roulade would not be something I would recommend to others nor re-order. The Brussels we quite good but the Meat was rather dry and very dense, and frankly not as good as compared to many other occasions of having this dish in comparable level of restaurants in Europe/Germany. The sauce was flavorful, but I wasn't too amour ed with the bread pudding...

Our location/table was unfortunately the freeway median to the bathrooms, so tip to others is to request to stay towards the street (or Bar) at the restaurant for more pleasant location. definitely avoid the tables near the the area of the old safe in the wall.

We both enjoyed the restaurant, and while the food was not fully what we had set our expectations to with this one menu entree, we both felt we would certainly return and explore the many exciting dishes listed, and certainly would recommend them to others visiting

The tasting menu was phenomenal! Easily accommodated a good allergy. Every dish was complex without being overly fussy. Service was personal and attentive. Sleek but intimate ambiance. Made for a perfect celebratory date night!

Magical! That one word captures our four-hour dining experience with the six-course tasting menu and wine pairings at Bauhaus Restaurant last weekend.

And as with any great magic show, my wife and I were left wondering afterwards: How did they do that?!?

We actually arrived without any real expectations ... even a little dubious of eating 'German' food again having grown up with many of the staple dishes found on the menu.

But the closest we came to any 'traditional' foods was the amazing bread - baked just up the street - which took us back to our Großmütters' kitchens.

From there, the evening was an intimate journey into the food courses and wine pairings. Each dish was fully introduced, along with the rationale for its paired alcoholic accompaniment.

GM Daniel Klintworth explained that Bauhaus used to play it safer with stereotypical pairings that would 'work' but decided to stretch their customers' palates by introducing them to wines they would not likely ever purchase, or often be able to buy in our BC liquor stores. (He even graciously toured me through their wine cellar to note some of the unique bottles in their collection).

It's a winning strategy ... not aiming for perfection but delivering a unique 'marriage' of food and wine that can't be duplicated anywhere else. As a result, we enjoyed a trip around the world with bottles from Uruguay, Hungary, Spain, Canada, Germany, and Italy.

Besides amazing dishes, service was impeccable. Even owner Uwe Boll was attentive but never intrusive. For some diners, he received a simple nod to his inquiries about their dining experience that evening; for others, like us, he was happy to engage in deeper conversation (and share some amazing grappa - thank you).

Every dining experience comes with its inherent 'risks' and rewards. I can't guarantee the same experience for others. I'm not even sure we'll ever recapture that same magic ... but for at least one evening at the Bauhaus, it was truly "magisch!"

We ordered the duck and short ribs. Also the Weiner schnitzel, as well as the apple dessert. They were all good and my favorite was the dessert! The washroom decor is kinda funky, diff than what I would expect for a fine dining restaurant.

We had a wonderful evening with delicious German food and superb wine. Thank you Daniel for spending the time to enlighten us on German Riesling. Thank you Uwe for talking about your vision. I had Wiener Schnitzel with warm potatoe salad and a side of cheese Spaetzle ( just like my Mom used to make) my husband had Sauerbraten. We also had the makrel appetizer. We had a bottle of Robert Weil Riesling GG that was absolutely wonderful. Everything was incredible tasty and the presentation was very nice. Not surprised that they are named one of the Best restaurants in Canada. Wish they would open a second location in Kelowna rather than Toronto. We will be back

The food is inventive, with great flavour combinations & excellent presentation. There is also a lot of it. You will not leave hungry!

The service is exceptional. Everyone from table bussers to the owner is simultaneously attentive and unobtrusive.

The decor is stylish, minimalist, modern, but visually appealing. The ambiance is lively, but not noisy. You can have a conversation without having to raise your voice.

Excellent beer & wine choices. Next time I’ll test the cocktail menu, too.

We came to Bauhaus for dinner to celebrate my partner's birthday and absolutely loved it! We ordered the four course tasting menu and it was perfect from the start to the end. My favourite dish was the Onsen Egg; it was well-seasoned and hearty. The service was great and the staff were patient given that I know very little about wine selection. Overall, it was a great experience and we look forward to many good ones to come!

We decided on the Bauhaus after reading great reviews on Tripadvisor. My fiancee and I decided on the German comfort food side of the menu. The wine selection is great although I opted for an excellent imported Kolsch beer. The wiener schnitzel and rouladen were very good, including the accompanying items. A side order of cheese spaetzle was outstanding.The service was friendly and efficient and the decor modern and appealing.

This was the best meal and service my wife and I have ever had. We each had two different cocktails and they were fantastic. The flavours are combinations you would never expect together but every bite was delicious. We had the scallops starter, the short rib entree, and the roulade for mains, and for dessert we had the banana, chocolate, coffee dessert and blood orange, ginger molasses, and buttermilk dessert. They were all outstanding. The staff was prompt, friendly, informative, and provided exceptional service. Will be returning soon.

The food was alright. We tried the 6 course menu. The taste is interesting, I see the effort but I felt something was lacking. The beef dish didn't wasn't that great I thought. The beef's taste was very rich, maybe just that we aren't extremely fond of beef sorry ~ The sponge cake in the dessert was a bit dry, but overall pretty good.

The biggest issue we had was not the food's taste (that's pretty subjective I just wanted to voice my thoughts on it earlier) however, I felt the timing of the dishes were poor though. I had to wait roughly 10 minutes between finishing one dish to the next. I do understand it is hard to time everything appropriately, however waiting for the onsen egg was closer to 20 minutes. I felt each dish was cooked after the last dish was finished. If there was a way to get more communication between the front and back of the house to discuss when the next dish should be started based on our eating speed that would be much better. We started to get a bit impatient between each dish since there were 6 we had to wait ..6 times haha.

The service was definitely great though, very gentle staff very attentive. Mainly it was the timing issue though. I will come back for the A La Carte next time since we wouldn't have to go through the timing issue for the set course ~

Beautiful chic restaurant. Went for lunch on a Tuesday in February. The place was surprisingly empty at noon. Dislike eating in an empty restaurant, but for some reason I didn't mind our quiet experience. Got a bit busier later on. Been wanting to try Bauhaus for a long time. Just returned from Berlin and had a hankering for good German cuisine. The food at Bauhaus did not disappoint. The schnitzel was fantastic! Also had the lunch special (which is a great deal at $22 for an entrée and a beer). That day the entree special was cheesy spaetzli. It was good--big portion, slightly warm, one note flavour. It would be better as a shared side dish. Or topped with shavings of black truffle (which we enjoyed at one of the Christmas markets in Berlin)!!! I would definitely return to try some of the other offerings, perhaps during dinner when perhaps Bauhaus would be buzzing.

By far exceeded our expectations. Wonderful to see that Vancouver has such a high quality restaurant that does not focus primarily on seafood. The multiple flavors in each dish were astonishing and the artistic presentations were a beauty to behold. The tenderness of the lamb was beyond belief, the smoked apple puree accompanying the elk was truly memorable and the boldness and multiple flavor in the "Apple" desert were astonishing.

We highly recommend the tasting menu. The quality and presentation of the dishes are comparable to Michelin rated restaurants in Europe and at a fraction of the price.

Excellent service, food, and ambience. Would highly recommend for that special dinner with that special someone. The location maybe is not the best in Vancouver but you will be treated impeccably from start to finish. Highly recommend.
