We reserved a table for 12. Preparations had been done prior to our arrival and it was nice to be seated right away.
Our server was Kellie and she was fabulous! Attentive without interruption, quick to return, funny and she helped make our special occasion a night of positive energy.
The guys at the grill were fun. One of them was new and the way that the lead on the grill encouraged him was great to see. They did a great job at fulfilling our request of embarrassing the birthday boy.
Our experience was fantastic and I appreciate everyone that was working that night!
Our server seemed surprised by each step of the dining process, the restaurant was not clean, much of the meat and veggies were frozen and difficult to add to our bowls, and the time at the grill seemed almost twice as long as we remembered.
High energy and noisy. Often had to shout to be heard by others in my party. Food was delicious.
Guy who ran the pit was irritated when I asked him for special prep for my 1 year old. Al I asked was that the egg was cooked separately.
We were sitted in a back room that was full of small children and with all the hard surfaces it was just so much echo you couldn't hear the person next to you.
Not a pleasant meal.
Awesome time! Since the nearest one to us shutdown unexpectedly this was the closest one to us and I couldn't have been happier. Server was nice and didn't forget a thing. Food options were refilled and fresh. Will be back for sure!
Meal was great. fresh chicken was being put out as I walked up which is the major part of my stir fry
We tend to go here because my kids really like it. You can make your meal as vegetarian as you would like or load up on meat! Celebrated two birthdays the night we were there. Fun. The food is not elegant, but the atmosphere is enjoyable.
The food is as good as you make it. Service is actually pretty good though.
The food you pick out to get cooked is in a buffet setting. The buffet was quite overrun. There was food all over, vegetables in sauces, sauce all over the buffet and honestly the temp on the uncooked meats looked a bit spotty. They are supposed to be chilled.. looked more room temp.
There weren’t enough of anything, no sauce bowls, no soup bowls, no onions, etc, etc.
The only thing I could give them was that it was Mother’s Day weekend but I saw enough staff there and the place was NOT overrun.
Made reservations a week in advance during an off time. Table we were sat at had food on the floor and used silverware on the floor under our table. Menus were dirty and looked like they should’ve been replaced months ago. Overall dirty.
The food as always was good but the hostess did not know what Open Table was and thus we received no Open Table credit. In fact, I received an e-,mail from Open Table that IO had not honored my reservation.
If I didn’t like the food, it would be my fault for picking a wrong choice in my bowl!
Food and service was good, but so noisy we had to shout at each other, couldn’t hear a thing. Should have kids birthday parties in room w door on it. Was very unhappy, won’t go back to Novi location.
Restaurant was Extremely noisy, couldn't even talk to each other. Finally moved to front of restaurant, which helped a little. Food, Service, etc. was wonderful but loud patrons kind of ruined it.
So much has changed since my family and I were here last. The actual meat selection wasn’t great at all. Steak was just beef- but very chewy and a lot of it was brown. It had that weird smell to it. The sauce selection wasn’t great. We kept adding fresh garlic (which didn’t have much flavor at all) and a lot of seasoning to get actual taste from the food. I felt like the garlic and seasonings were just so bland. It was very strange. In all honesty, I added 7 scoops of garlic before I could actually get a taste. The grill people were amazing with my kids and made them laugh which made it a bearable visit. It was a young group of males and they tried very hard to sings songs my little kids could relate to and that was nice. But, because if the meat selections we won’t be going back anytime soon.
We love to go to BD's, the staff is always friendly and the ingredients are fresh!
Service was good, chef’s, waitresses, and waiters were very polite
What a lame atmosphere. I had been to the Mongolian bbq before, several years ago and enjoyed the restaurant ( Dearborn). I’m surprised that bd’s has not done anything to change or improve the now mediocre, tacky chain. Pure laziness
Since the chain was sold, they seem to have lost their cool ambiance. The grillers are no longer entertaining. Very few customers for a Friday night. And they are missing options on the build a stir fry station.
They have an excellent variety of healthy, fresh food that can be combined in infinite combinations. With reservations, our wait was approximately 10 minutes on a Saturday night. I took one star off because they charge $4.95 for a bowl of fried rice when on their menu, it says “for just a little more”. I don’t mind paying a little more but I won’t increase my meal cost by over 30% for it. The meal includes white rice and flour tortilla wraps for those that want them.
Birthday dinner! Had a good time and great meal. Joined the rewards program.
We love it here - fun and great service! Birthdays are extra fun.
We have been to this location many times, but it's been about 6 months. Our server was amazing! The food was amazing, although the roasted red peppers had been changes out for fresh ones! I would recommend this for anyone at anytime!
The food area was very dirty
The shrimp were micro mini. No calamari or scallops. Need more seafood. Waitress was pleasant.
Very happy with our visit. Food selection was good! Chef's were interactive! Waitress staff was wonderful. Went above and beyond to make it an enjoyable birthday experience for our twins! We'll be back!!
The add ons variety was lacking on the salad bar . service was slow despite not being crowded at all. Quality of buffet is not what it once was especially for $17.99 for unlimited
Soup options have been obscure . At least have 1 normal soup offeri ng always . Service and quality need improvements at this location
Our waiters was amazing Jen went above and beyond for me. Thank you!!
Enjoyed the dining with family and friends
Very good waitress and other service.
Food looked old in meat section and in salad bar rice was dry and recived 3 shells for 3 people bad service over all
Who would have thought that Mongolian BBQ would have vegetarian options? They always have one veggie soup available, and the options at the dinner buffet (to make your bowl of food) include tofu and meatless chicken nuggets. So, they are quite accommodating to vegetarians. If you are looking for a healthier alternative to some other restaurant chains, you can find what you are looking for at Mongolian BBQ. Also, the number of spice and sauce options lets you create a dinner to your liking.
Always like getting the Unlimited Bowls. Always take one to-go so I can have dinner later or the next days lunch. Worth the extra $2. Go during lunch time. You get lunch prices
Despite making a reservation, we had to wait 45 minutes for a table. The maitre d didn't seem to be concerned. Furthermore, the waiter was terrible. He didn't bring drinks, and rarely checked in. Will NOT return.
We got to the restaurant for our reservation and the restaurant was closed!!! There was no sign on the door just locked doors. We were very upset as we had family from out of town that were upset as well as we had talked about how awesome this restaurant was. After having to go to another restaurant we found out that they were under a boil water advisory and couldn’t open.
We understood but they could have put a note on the website, Facebook page or a sign on the door to let people know. I was very disappointed that we had made reservations and they couldn’t be honored.
Would have been nice if gh would have let us know it was closed. I knew there was a chance with the water issue going on but when I make a reservation I figure the place is at least open. Come on now!!
Not quite what expected for a restaurant.
Self serve like a Buffett. You are given a bowl, no tray to carry anything and you wait to get it grilled.
Luckily people with allergies to food, can have their meal grilled on a separate grill in back.
We were very excited about going to Mongolian Grill, it was our anniversary and our kids are now 10 (twins) and a little more open to trying new foods. We used to go to BD's all the time up until the kids started eating solid food and became a handful in restaurants. So we were excited and ready to introduce them to this new experience. I even signed us up for the BD club because we were ready to start coming back again regularly. We were so disappointed. The food quality has gone way down. My wife could not even finish her meal and my pork was tough and chewy. This was not the BD of our very fond memories. To make it worse it was our Anniversary and we so wanted to have a good experience. The one saving grace was our waitress was very nice and attentive. Our bill came out to $47 (2 adults and 2 children) and my wife and I only had water. At this price point we expect better. Much better.
There is a good reason we keep coming back, everyone decides what they are eating, the ingredients are fresh, the helpings are sized to order and we always have a staff person who would fit in with our family. Keep up the great work.
Had my fiancé surprise 30th birthday party for 20 people and it went GREAT. Would definitely come again
