Beatrix is a neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and meeting place located in Chicago’s River North. Our chef partners Susan Weaver, Rita Dever and John Chiakulas have created a menu inspired by food made in Lettuce’s test kitchen.

Beatrix is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night offerings, as well as brunch on Saturday and Sundays.

All pastries, breads and sweets are baked in house daily. Some of our favorites include Sadie's Crunch Cake, Honey Butter Cinnamon Buns and Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Our coffee and tea program will showcase two iconic Chicago roasters, Intelligensia and Metropolis and specialty offerings like Nitro, Bulletproof, and more!

Awesome brunch! The lemon pancakes with blackberries....the best. The only drawback--some silly Chicago law that you can't get an alcoholic (mimosa) drink until after 10:00 on Sundays. Crazy.

When you make a reservation, you expect to get a table at the time of your reservation, with a 5-minute margin. Not a 15-20 minute wait, especially when anyone walking in has a 20-minute wait-time. These guys really need to learn to manage their reservations and the number of table they serve.
On the same note, they were out of several dishes. That to me shows bad organisation.
The food was good, the wine was alright. Dessert was great, the only upside to this evening.
The restaurant should really look into improving their organisation, this would make the experience much better for the customer.

My boy friend and I went to brunch on a Saturday and it was great. We both got specialty drinks, which were more expensive than the brunch only drinks ; I wish we would have known that, because I would have just stuck to a brunch only drink. The food was great. We did the all you can eat option and it was very filling and felt like a better deal. Next time I will try something off of the menu because, although I was a fan of what I ate, I would want to try something new. The avocado toast was so good! The mimosas were very boozy and worth the value. I wouldn't have called this a quiet spot, but I wasn't overwhelmed by conversations or music. It's what I expected for a Saturday brunch. Overall good experience and great food!

Great ambience and INCREDIBLE food. You need to try to Fitel Mignon Pot Roast, is superb! And leave some spece for the deserts! All servers kind and efficient. Fully recommended.

The neatloaf and sangria were both very good. My husband had the risotto and it was just ok, a little weird that the mushrooms were separate and had to be mixed in yourself. The River North location is attached to a hotel, so the ambiance feels like a hotel restaurant so isn’t my favorite. Fulton Market has a better vibe.

Awesome Valentine's Date Night. Falling off the bone pork shank, insanely crispy Branzino, and amazing ceviche and Brussels Sprouts. Fabulous!

My wife and I were running 15 minutes late and they were able to accommodate without any issues. The servers were excellent at presenting the daily specials and menu items. They gave great recommendations, too. The entrees and their respective sides were paired perfectly together. The food was flavorful and savory, but not too heavy. We’ll be back.

My cousins were visiting from Brooklyn and I wanted to take them somewhere with good food and a lot of gluten free and vegetarian choices. We were a party of nine and were able to sit at a long table and talk comfortably. The staff was great and very accommodating. My burger was delicious. All the food was good. The fresh-squeezed juice offerings were a big hit too. Everyone loved Beatrix-the younger and older crowd too.

Had a 1:30 brunch reservation waited in very cramped quarters with many others, was seated 20 minutes late next to the door that was used for strollers,it was 17 degrees outside and several young families with strollers. Food was good, service was good but there was no relaxation whatsoever.

Very expensive. 2 meals of 2 eggs and a side of avocado and tomato each, and 1 with a side of salmon was $50 before tip. Due to dietary restrictions we could not have the meat, toast, or hash browns, but didn't receive any sort of credit towards the sub of avo/tomato. Very expensive and nothing special. You could make at home for <$5 total, so spend time socializing elsewhere where you can get a better value for your money.

Brunch was delicious! The lemon pancakes were outstanding! We were seated in the bar, had a smaller table but the ambiance was great. Would defiantly eat there again.

My daughter has Celiac disease and they were very accommodating! Most restaurants fries are not safe for her because they don't have a dedicated fryer. Beatrix's fries are so delicious and GF. She loved them. Everything we had that night was wonderful. We were in town for a gymnastics meet but if we come back to Chicago we will 100% go back.
