Beatrix - River North
Beatrix is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night offerings, as well as brunch on Saturday and Sundays.
All pastries, breads and sweets are baked in house daily. Some of our favorites include Sadie's Crunch Cake, Honey Butter Cinnamon Buns and Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Our coffee and tea program will showcase two iconic Chicago roasters, Intelligensia and Metropolis and specialty offerings like Nitro, Bulletproof, and more!
What Insiders Are Saying
More comfortable than a MINI Cooper, Beatrix is a casual and versatile restaurant in River North.
Maple bacon- if you don’t order it, you’re missing out.
Went during brunch time on a Sunday, so I get they're busy but the waiter could've come more than 2 times. Never saw him.
My fiancee and I had dinner after the Opera. It's one of our favorite Chicago's restaurants and the service was great. They have a gluten-free menu and everything was extraordinary good (the drinks, meals, desserts, etc.) We hope to be there again.
Nice place and very good brunch. All choices were good apart from the lemon pancakes with they tasted more like an omelette. Very nice atmosphere and amazing place. Didn’t like that even that we have booked a table we had to wait like 15 minutes and they gave as a table right next to the hotel reception, so we couldn’t see and feel the nice atmosphere of the place.
Our favorite breakfast place when we visit Chicago.
Perfect place for a tasty breakfast.
Our burrata appetizer was great, but my meal, the parmesan crusted chicken was just ok.
Great location and a menu that is sure to please! The service was exceptional and food didn’t disappoint.
The food was really good, in a great location and the service was amazing.
We especially enjoyed the pasteries.
Would definitely recommend it for a brunch.
Juice was spoiled. Chia pudding had to have had 80 grams of sugar in it. Everything was pleasant enough, but left you disappointed. Nothing offensive (except the juice) but nothing great.
I got my usual superfood salad with salmon and the salmon was a bit overcooked. I was hesitant to even mention this to the waitress because she didn't seem to excited about being there anyway. I feel like something was lacking during this visit and not with just the service aspect. I sure hope that it turns around.
Everything was great - EXCEPT for the ENERGETIC noise level. Since this site fails to give you the OBNOXIOUSLY AND ANNOYINGLY LOUD option - I am focusing my narrative on that.
Apparently according to OPEN TABLE - the requirement to SCREAM to be heard by the person sitting next to you is an ENERGETIC noise level.
Restaurants need to know that there are MANY people who do not appreciate the LOUD music forcing the LOUD talking while trying to have a conversation with the person next to you at the table.
Beatrix while I understand your employees may love the music - not all of your patrons do and for that reason you need to find a moderate level for your music volume. I implore you - FIX THIS because in spite of how good everything else was - I will not return again if the music is that loud again.
It was a really great meal and atmosphere. The server took great care of us.
We were celebrating birthdays.
Great food as always at Beatrix. Fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Good drinks too!
Outstanding Mother ‘s Day brunch. Server also made it a lot of fun.
Great service on an incredibly busy mother’s day Sunday means this place probably has great service any other day
Came here for Mother’s Day brunch and loved it! Our waiter was great, the restaurant was beautiful, and the food was terrific! High key recommend!
This was my second time at Beatrix River North and it did not disappoint. Great service, food came out fast and great environment!
A great, tight table atmosphere where they focus on quick turnaround. The food is good, but on this occasion came out warm and not hot from the kitchen. Pastries, while tasty, were received after the main course but ordered first.
Unfortunately, we were seated very close to the door on a cold, breezy day. We had to wear our coats during dinner because of the frequent blasts of frigid air every time people went in or out, and our food quickly became cold. The food tasted good, but this ruined our experience. The place was packed and they couldn’t move us to another table.
Food was incredably good!!!!! Price was right. Ambiance was not what we expected.
Valet parking was not marked in front nor advertised properly. We did not know to leave the car with the adjacent Aloft hotel.
Fun, lively, good music, pleasant staff, delicious, healthy food.
Awesome place - super quick! And great food. Great option for just a quick coffee or sit down brunch.
Our new favorite place in Chicago!!! What a gem
My date and I went during lunch time so we were given the lunch menu. There was very few choices. The food was not great and we were given bland fries. The glasses smelled like wet dog.....The waiter did his best though. Oh well.
A friend and I met up for a reunion at Beatrix--we hadn't seen each other in years. The food was good and the service was superb. The seating can get tight--something to think about. You have excellent salad options.
My salad and green juice was amazing. I WILL be back!
Our waitress was awesome- she asked us if we’d ever been before and explained the menu to us, which was super helpful. The food was delicious. We got the desert on the house to celebrate my graduation. It was really nice of them! Thank you
I almost always can find something redeeming about a restaurant and I rarely spend time on poor reviews, but our experience tonight was a bit embarrassing and merits note.
The food was boring and vastly under seasoned. I suspect a microwave was involved with my chicken, based on the astonishing speed with which it came out of the kitchen. Ravioli was dry. Caramel pie was cloyingly sweet and had not set correctly based on the inconsistency of texture of the custard. The whipped cream was clearly hand made but at least a day or two old judging by its fuzziness and texture. At best, food was okay.
They also did not honor our seating choice and put us at a high top in the middle of restaurant traffic. The restaurant itself is laid out poorly and overcrowded with tables, meaning you are constantly being brushed by people going by. The accessible door was blocked by a stand and table, and most pathways through the restaurant were also blocked at least partially. For part of our meal, a large group of men at the bar continued to bump my friend as they stood, despite their being open stools. The noise level was also ridiculous.
Service was fair, but a bit inattentive. Perhaps he sensed our annoyance with the overall experience. I still tipped 20 percent as always but was not impressed.
In short, not worth your time or money, and not at all a pleasurable experience.
Took a friend visiting from out of town. Had been there once for lunch and it had been wonderful. Dinner was good as well. The food is healthy and portions sized well. Service was good, waiter was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is good as well.
There’s an issue with the host station, they don’t acknowledge you upon arrival. Crowds are up front because they won’t seat until all are present. Half of the tables sit empty while you congregate at the door & servers try to squeeze by with food to bring to their tables as though you are in their way.
We LOVED our experience at Beatrix! Our server was amazing, the food delicious, and we can’t wait to come back to town to go again!
I devoured my Cauliflower & Egg Grits and my adult girls loved the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, and Chicken Tinga. Their baked goods look outstanding.
excellent service! It was my teenage daughter's birthday and she was dining with her friends and their server was so great! He made the evening special for her and as always the food was great.
We went for a birthday celebration and enjoyed the entire experience. The ambiance was cool, and we could all hear each other. The food was amazing, especially the ravioli and the cauliflower salad! The waiter was wonderful. The perfect mix of friendly, professional, and knowledgeable! Highly recommend!
One my favorite places to go with my wife! Great appetizers, ambiance, food and service.
Delicious, healthy, and LARGE menu! Perfect for Mother's Day brunch. They also have amazing-looking pastries - wish I had tried them.
Exceptional service coupled with fresh and delicious food make this a fantastic place to grab brunch. I recently dined here with a group of girlfriends, who have extremely varied palettes. Each of us found something to our liking. We would definitely dine here again.
Great food and drinks! Fun place for dinner with friends or family.
