About Beatrix - Streeterville

Beatrix is a neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and meeting place located in Chicago’s Streeterville. Our chef partners Susan Weaver, Rita Dever and John Chiakulas have created a menu inspired by food made in Lettuce’s test kitchen.

Beatrix is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night offerings.

All pastries, breads and sweets are baked in house daily. Some of our favorites include Angel Food Cake Muffins, Honey Butter Cinnamon Rolls and Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Our coffee and tea program will showcase two iconic Chicago roasters, Intelligentsia and Metric.

Loved my cauliflower salad and the chia desert! Great service! Asked for a window quiet table and it was ready for us!
Will return, everything was perfect!

Creative Food options with great service. If we lived closer, we would probably go more often. I loved the cauliflower grits and also the quinoa cakes.

We came here for lunch and all four of us got breakfast items. Overall, it was great. The bloody Mary was great, the coffee was super fantastic, and even my daughters burger was good. I would not call this fine dining however if you were looking for a contemporary nice place to eat with good food that is reasonably price, and I usually am, this is a great place

We went to the Beatrix for a birthday dinner. The food was outstanding, the waitress was amazing and their fresh squeezed juices that went into their specialty drinks were fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great food and a chill atmosphere. We'll be returning to try the rest of their menu.

We enjoyed a great Saturday night meal. Great starter of roasted Brussels sprouts. Wonderful risotto, cheese ravioli with squash sauce and the evenings special beef tenderloin with veggies and mashed potatoes rounded out a wide variety of main courses for all.

This is our second visit to beatrix - once again, I chose the poached eggs over quinoa cakes and the super green juice. It was perfect. The table shared an order of avocado toast and rainbow toast - we were more than full!

I enjoyed Beatrix, vibrant and trendy, food was good. I went during Restaurant Week and enjoyed the lunch menu. The vegan tomato soup was delicious, equally so was the zucchini style pasta. If you like sweet potato / pumpkin pie, the caramel desert pie has your name on it, so yummy with the fresh whipped cream.

Normally Beatrix is on par, but tonight’s waitress was very slow, didn’t check in with us often, and didn’t bring us our coffee refill.

We had a party of 4 and one of friends was running really late. Our waiter was super nice and kept checking in on us. He didn’t rush us or make us feel like we were on a time crunch. He had great menu suggestions and checked on us numerous times to make sure we were doing ok. Would come back just for the waiter!

We enjoyed the lemon pancakes and cauliflower grits very much. The bacon was also delicious. Attentive, friendly service. What more could you ask for? The only negative was the music which was a little too loud.

Really nice interior and atmosphere that kept things upscale casual. Everything that we had was well-prepared and delicious. Food came out of the kitchen pretty quickly but drinks were slow to come from the bar. Overall great spot to have quick, great food. Recommend the wild mushroom risotto and the tall, dark, and handsome chocolate cake.

Excellent Chicago restaurant week menu! The food was yummy and this restaurant offered a great number of choices, for a very reasonable price, to introduce people to their food. Fabulous

I recently had Sunday brunch at Beatrix with a group of my family and friends and it met all of my expectations. We arrived early for a table of 8 and the hostess said that she would try to seat us as soon as possible. She did. Before our actual reservation time and the restaurant was packed. Once we were seated, and throughout our meal, our waiter appeared effortlessly any time we needed him. All of the food and beverages were delicious and there were a few stand-outs. The bloody mary was perfection with just the right amount of kick (I love spicy) and the strip of brown sugar bacon in the drink was sublime. I had two! I also ordered more bacon for the table as you can never have too much bacon. For the main course, my cauliflower grits with an egg on top were delicious, healthy and I spiced them up with the hot pepper sauce on the table. Other standouts were the LEMON PANCAKES! I love lemon and these beauties did not disappoint. They were light yet filled with lemon flavor and came with a delicious, not overly sweet lemon syrup to pour on top. Our entire table was groaning with happiness as they tried them. After eating, we all enjoyed coffee and sat around talking for quite some time. Two downers were the women's bathroom did not smell clean and our parking fee at a local lot was $41 by the time we left (under 3 hours on a Sunday). We probably should have inquired as to whether Beatrix offers any type of parking voucher. All in all Beatrix is a lovely spot with amazing food and service and while not inexpensive worth the money! I would definitely like to visit the other Chicagoland Beatrix restaurants and I would encourage you to also.

Wish the online menu was more specific about the hours for the lunch menu vs the brunch menu. Since we were eating at 2:00 pm, eating brunch food like eggs was not what I was thinking of.

I had a burger with fries and it was quite tasty! Environment was clean. Service with a smile. The restroom was also very clean and beautifully decorated. We actually had reservations for 12:45, but arrived 30 minutes early and they were still able to accommodate us at that time, which was very important because we were starving!
If I could change one thing, it would be the noise level. I was there with 3 other friends trying to catch up, but it was a little difficult to hear each other.
Other than that, it was fantastic and I will definitely be back!

Good looking space. Friendly, attentive service. Food...not so great.

Had the hummus appetizer with gluten-free pita, which was the highlight. Crispy kale salad seemed more of a hassle than anything...with that crisped kale, my friend spent more time with a toothpick in her mouth than the food. Straight A salad was good, but the added chicken was grisly and greasy tasting. Looked like it came off a cafeteria chefs salad. Blech. Chia pudding dessert was flavorful, but couldn't get past the caviar texture. Overall, would not recommend.

Great menu. I've never had a bad meal here. Service was knowledgeable and timely. Once again, it fell apart at the hostess desk. LEYE needs to spend more time training hostesses. The first person you interact with - it helps if they're friendly, smiling interactive. They often are not.
