Had reservations at 11am. So did half of Chicago. Waited 20 min and didn’t get type of table requested. Instead got seated in very high traffic area. Food was good, but overpriced for a regular brunch place.
Had lunch there. Everything was great!!
Great place. Excellent food and service.
Music is too loud to have any conversation.
People talk/yell just to have conversations.
Not a good place if you want to talk to the people you are dining with.
Food was delicious. Service was great. Only negative was that the music was so loud, it made conversation difficult.
Mother’s Day breakfast. Food was marginal to not very good.
Really enjoyed our brunch! We were celebrating a birthday and the staff really made the birthday girl feel special. Thank you
My husbands birthday lunch with family was great! Everyone enjoyed their salads, coffee drinks and angle food cake muffins for dessert. Great lunch spot!
Decent breakfast but took a lot of time to get and pay bill.
Selections are limited, and not the best. Guacamole with Quinoa was good. Husband had cauliflower steak. My Salmon was average and farm raised. I didn’t want the cabbage, so the plate came with salmon and few small tortillas. I had mashed potatoes on the side, that were nothing special. Server was nice, but inattentive. Regular coffee tasted terrible. We had the chia mango pudding that was OK. Was very overpriced for all. I am gluten free and did take a piece of coffee cake home. Disappointing!!
We had such a lovely time at Beatrix for lunch today! Our server, Lucas, was absolutely awesome and the superfood salad and burger were both great.
I've actually had it with this location. Knowing the LEY brand, I just expect so much more than what we got this time and the previous time. Again, making an open table reservation for 11:15am on Sunday. We got there exactly at 11:12 (because we were chastised by the hostess the last time for checking in with her about 10 minutes before our reservation time). Once again, we waited and saw people without reservations getting sat ahead of us. It was for a larger party (4) and I realize that there are different sized tables - but it just doesn't look good to us. Perception is reality - especially at the host stand. I was the good kid and made a reservation and yet, I'm the one waiting for 6-10 minutes in the lobby. I also noticed "reserved" signs on 2 tables when we walked in; so clearly that is a common practice, but apparently not one used for reservations. I really like the Beatrix menu and brand - but I'll be dining in the River North location moving forward. Service was also tepid, definitely not what one would expect paying these prices . She was polite and seemed capable of doing her job, for sure - just kind of over it. Maybe she had a bad table before us?
Delicious food. Had the chicken Tinga, chia seed pudding, and lemon pancakes. Also got a few gluten free pastries to go. All delicious.
I love Beatrix in River North, and I LOVE Lettuce Entertain you restaurants but the Beatrix Streeterville location is awful! This is my second bad experience here, last time was about 2 years ago and I said I would never go back but I figured I would give it another shot, because like I said I love Beatrix River North and Lettuce Entertain you. I wanted to take my parents who were in town for a nice lunch and staying near by. We had a reservation when we got there the host told us to wait a few minutes while they cleared off our table and never came back to tell us how long so we waited a bit until I had to ask. We got sat, our server came over took our drink order and didn't come back for almost 20 minutes to take our order and our drinks (2 cocktails and 2 coffees) didn't come out for another 15 minutes and even after that the coffee finally came out another 15 minutes after the cocktails...it was just black coffee. Finally, we were sitting outside and the sun was hitting us so we asked to move to one of the four empty tables outside in the shade. The hostess and what I assume was a manager or head server gave us such an attitude about it. They said they were "clearing the table off" when they had so many empty clean ones. It took them forever to "clear off the table" by taking one piece of silverware or dish and napkin at a time while dragging their feet. We got sat, our food comes out. We ordered the steak and eggs medium rare and it came out well done and WAY over cooked eggs. Finally we just wanted to eat and get out of there so we got the check and no one came over to ask us how anything was and then they started clearing the table as we were paying as if we weren't even there. Figured, that's when they decide to pick up their feet to "clear the table". This is the first time I have ever taken the time to complain about my restaurant experience. I hope Beatirx Streeterville gets there act together before ruining the Beatrix name.
The food was amazing and reasonably priced. We had the special toasted quinoa coated halibut, and the szechuan chicken. The service was excellent. Don't forget to try the mile high caramel pie.
This is the 2nd time in a little over a month we've dined at this spot and had a disappointing experience. My wife's enlightened Caesar Salad with chicken had brown lettuce so we sent it back and more of the same returned. Not a good thing when you're charging $16 for an overpriced salad! My turkey burger was all of about 3-4oz at best and dry as a bone. Not once did our waitress ask me how my meal was so I just continued to eat because we were in a hurry. The almond coleslaw was the only redeeming aspect of my meal. It was nice of the staff to comp my wife's salad, however, I must say the restaurant lacks the positive and welcoming vibe it once had when John, Henry, and Thya were present. The hostess staff lacks friendliness and we always feel very rushed now whenever we eat at Beatrix-Streeterville that we don't feel at other LEYE locations. I must say it's unfortunate but we might not be coming back.
Very creative menu and friendly waitstaff
This place has the best healthy comfort food. It is my favorite "go to" restaurant every time I am in the city. When I bring family and friends, they tell me that they go back when I am not with them. It's a good idea to get reservations on weekend mornings. I have tried all the breakfast items and have never been disappointed. The chicken tinga is my favorite, however if you are vegetarian, there is a meatless version of it. If you are interested in something sweet try the lemon ricotta pancakes.
I wasn’t very impressed by the food. The tea was amazing though.
great accommodation for our party, we went there with a baby and a person that had a gluten free allergy, we're all very happy with the meal.
I ordered the brown sugar bacon for $4.95 and when they brought it out I was a bit surprised. They only give you 3 small pieces. Overpriced to say the least!!
The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing. I would recommend it time and time again.
So good we went twice in 3 days for breakfast. Lucas was our waiter both times — amazing!
Lunch seems like the best time to go if you want to carry on a conversation. When it's really busy the noise is crazy.
Always delicious and solidly good service. A bit hard to carry on conversation with noise. That’s my only complaint, ever!
Fun brunch at a great spot!
Service and food were fantastic, but it is a very crowded.
We went to Beatrix for Brunch and a Birthday Celebration.
The food on the menu is unique and delightful...things like cauliflower grits and almond French toast...yum! I had the omelet which was outstanding....complete with spinach, avocado, fresh
tomatoes and some cheese...Delicious! My niece had the Burger and said it was fabulous. They had a unique relish that they served with the burger....I loved it! It was flavorful and had a great combo of veggies and vinegar.
Our Server was great....one thing they don't open the Bar until 10, so no bloody mary's or mimosas until then!
We loved it and will go back!
Really incredible food and overall experience. Our server was great!!
Best pea soup and kale salad I’ve ever had! Food here is always delicious.
As always the food was terrific and the service wonderful. It was very busy when we arrived but we were seated within five minutes of our reservation time and the waitress honored our request to be taken care of promptly because of other commitments. As always Beatrix is a great neighborhood addition.
Had the delicious sea bass. Highly recommended. Great atmosphere.
Great food, pastries, and drinks. Service could have been a bit more attentive but was absolutely acceptable.
Great Brunch Menu items. Very Healthy and good. Great Drink Selections. Good Service
Food was good and creative. Portions small and pricey. Service was outstanding
Food was great as always but my earl grey tea was barely hot. I also feel like they haven't really changed their menu for a couple years now. Change is good! But please don't get rid of those wonderful lemon pancakes.
My husband and I went for breakfast on Sunday at 10:00 and the place was packed. I'm glad we had a reservation! The food was very good with a creative twist. The juices were pure fruit, no added sugar. Yum! Our server was friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go back!
Absolutely delicious. The quinoa & poached egg with tomato was one of the best breakfasts i have ever eaten. My husband likes plain food, and enjoyed his scrambled eggs and unusually good hash browns. Service was impeccable. Ambiance is warm and comfortable. We made a reservation for 8 am on open table for sunday morning - arrived early and waited in the coffee bar - and by the time we left, the restaurant was full. Will be back next visit to chicago for sure.
Nice slightly foody treatments of comfort food classics. Typically professional LEYE staff. Good value. Not life changing but very reliable.
Beatrix offers an innovative menu with a focus on healthy ingredients. There are nice little "twists" on most of their items. The service and atmosphere were good. We could actually talk with the people we went there with...what a concept!!
I will go back and recommend it.
