   Had reservations for 830. Was seated around 840. After 15 minutes are server came with the menus. Ended up ordering just before 9. Service was extremely slow. Food was good. We went for our sons birthday, and at the end of our meal of the server said she forgot, and was not having a celebration song for our son. Not a big deal, but it was just a continuation of the lack of effort by our server.

   2 issues not related to service. Can chicken tempura be offered as an adult portion/meal? And can promotional gift cards allow 1 per meal vs person. My family of 4 had to pay separately for 4. It’s dumb and not efficient for your wait staff or us. Thanks

   We have eaten at Benihana on multiple occasions and have noticed a significant decline in the service, food quality, portions and overall experience. We were so disappointed at our recent birthday dinner with the entire experience. The price increase is staggering and it felt as though the service standards have been lowered with the mandatory 20% gratuity inclusion. We do not plan to revisit this establishment unless some noticeable improvements are made. Sad to leave our family tradition behind.

   The food was good, but the price for 3 five course dinners was $160 with $30 off for birthday certificate bringing it down to $130. More expensive than it used to be. Sticker shock of current prices, I guess. The stir fried rice was an extra $6.20 per person and didn’t have as many ingredients as they used to have. Shrimp in appetizer was just a few tiny bites.

   A scattered team. We were early for our reservation, so we decided to get a drink and an appetizer while we waited. We have our order 3 times to two different servers, but for seated before or apps arrived, they said they'd send it to our table, they didn't. My friend with a shellfish allergy was told her meal would be cooked for her in the back, but they never brought it out. I was done eating and she didn't get to eat! We asked for her food as take out, and had to argue with the waitress and manager comping her meal. Get your game together Bennihana!

    Great food, great staff for our table. The service fee vs a tip was a little confusing. Some family drama at the table next to us created some discomfort for everyone in our section for a little bit, but it was handled and we enjoyed our dinner.

    This Benihana in Golden Valley has really gone down hill. The cleanliness and shape of the equipment was not great. The bathroom stall walls were super dirty in the women's and the soap dispenser was right next to the flower decorations. The table had some old rice on it. The service was ok. Normally they offer more yum yum sauce but I had to ask for more. At the end I asked for more sauce to go and she brought more ramekins, no sauce. I asked for an extra side of rice but was charged for 3 sides. The chef was great! He did the tricks, minus the egg trick, and his food was good. Overall, I can tell they are struggling a bit as a Friday during lunch was not as busy as it used to be. The lunch prices went way up compared to what they used to be. Almost double in fact. I get that places are struggling but it was not a surprise they were hardly busy.

    Service was terrible. Never asked for refills or second beverages. Once the chef was preparing the rice we asked for our salads and even he couldn’t believe they hadn’t been served yet. Normally we have great service but the past 2-3 visits has been incredibly terrible and slow service at this location. Understaffed I imagine.

    This dinner was not what we had come to expect from Benihana. Our table was not set for correct number of guests. We got the extra plate ourselves. We waited 30 min to get our order. 45min to get sodas delivered to table. We were served soup and salad after asking the front when we would get served. The table next to us that was seated 30min after us, was served drinks, soup and salad before our table. Total time at restaurant was 2 hrs. This visit was far from the service I have received in the past. Food and chef were great!

    I arrived at 2:45pm for my lunch reservation for 4. The waitress Marshawna was very attentive and provided great service, however it took 1.5 hours for the chef to come out. We spoke with several managers and employees asking the status of our cook as it was pretty quiet and the wait didn’t seem necessary. Once the chef finally arrived, the proportions were incorrect & he was scrambling to figure out the orders. We then spent another 1.5 hours. The manager ensured we would receive some kind of comp for meals, however only $23 was taken off for an hour and half wait. Another guest of my party complained to management, in efforts to remove the gratuity for the bad service. Another $23 was given after being told my several managers they couldn’t help us. One even said “I’m too busy helping someone else” I thought it was suppose be first in, first out. But he didn’t care to give us the time of day.

    Haven’t been in a while and was pretty disappointed by the service. Hostess was not friendly on arrival. The other family and mine both were underwhelmed by our waitress. I felt uncomfortable asking for anything as she just didn’t seem like she was in a good mood (I will say her mood improved by the end of the visit). We were there at the opening of the restaurant and despite this the bathroom were dirty without toilet paper. Our chef was great. Not what I remembered as I always had great experiences in the past. Will be awhile before I come back again

    The guy that cooked for us did a poor job… no excitement whatsoever with our group. Watched him cook for the group next to us before he cooked for us. Was very interactive with that table but not ours. He was very rude. I felt very disrespected. Price was too much.

    First off, the food was outstanding. Disappointing: Cook did not do any of the usual table entertainment and was not very engaging with guests. This was a birthday celebration for two of the five guests. In the past years we have always received a complimentary birthday photo of the group, not so this year. My son was busing dishes off our table and setting them at another table near to us that had not yet been cleaned. Possibly they were short staffed. We were surprised by the service charge included on the bill that was explained as being shared between the cook, bar tender and waitress, especially since we had already provided the cook with a generous cash tip. In all the years we’ve been going there for birthdays or just a nice night out, this was the first time we have been disappointed.

    Food overcooked, was overcharged by a lot. They nickel and dime you for everything. $4 for charged water? But the worst of it is a 20% tip is automatically added to every bill. Even though the server was s non-existent and then overcharged credit card.

    The waiting times were excruciating, especially considering you have reservations. The chef was not friendly and honestly rude to my daughter. He put little effort into his "show'. I love the food but the experience left much to be desired. Also it has always taken way too long to get the check. Big surprise that tips have to be cash.

    We were seated at our reservation time of 5:30 but the chef did not show up to cook the food for almost an hour. We left shortly after eating and paying our bill which included a 20% surcharge and additional money for the pre calculated tip around 7:30. The chef put on quite a show as there was a young child at our table celebrating their birthday and the kids loved it. I also think they are server smaller portions, especially on the rice and veggies. Not quite the special dining experience it was pre Covid.

    This location was pretty dirty/run down. The ceiling tiles were filthy and many were broken, the wall behind our table was covered in black grease/smoke, and there was sexually explicit graffiti in the stalls of the women's bathroom. Outside of the physical ills of the space, our server and chef were excellent. In fact, a member of our party and I both commented we'd wished we brought cash to provide our server an extra tip since there wasn't room to write in an additional tip above the 20% service fee. She was super pleasant, prompt, responsive, and got every single thing right.

    Awful service. The chef at our table was great, the rest of it was not. They auto-include a tip, and the price to eat their for a family of 4, even for a special occasion is no longer worth it to us. It used to be our favorite place to go.

    Service struggled to keep up with our minor drink orders (1-2 drinks each person for the entire time we were there) so that was disappointing. The food was good, but they also messed up on some of our requests. They made it all right eventually and we had a good time, but for the money you kind of expect a higher caliber of service.

    Service was very poor! Waiter was horrible and didn’t get us refills like I asked. Wife went to eat her steak and fried rice and had a piece of someone’s lobster shell in it so she almost choked on it! Then to top it off, It was my birthday and we both ordered land n sea which is a 6 course meal was told we don’t get ice cream.

    They sat us in the way back with no ambiance and the wall and ceiling falling apart. Food was good but had (not the service charge) but additional tax charges that should have been on the drink charge from the beginning so basically over $30 in hidden fees. Won’t be gong back .

    Service was very slow. Not sure if we were at shift change or if they were just short handed. Food was great, but sad they did not offer the ice cream with the meal. I did not ask as they have always offered it before. Figured it was cut from the menu.

    We got in pretty much right away sat in the bar area at a quiet table. Service was fine salad and soup was okay. Waitress filled out drinks and we waited quite a while for food , not a big deal they were busy and it was Valentine’s Day. Food came and was about a lunch sized portion. Steak was undercooked and we had a bunch of onions and zucchini not a variety of veggies which was disappointing. Waitress came one time and that was when we ordered food. Had to ask for to go box and that was only because my husband didn’t eat the rice. The portions were so small I’ve never seen this in all my experiences at bennys . When the waitress came she explained that a 20% gratuity was added for just us two. She explained that she has to split with everyone and she wouldn’t get much so we could tip her directly and in cash she would prefer. I was going to tip but she didn’t deserve 20% or even 15% in my opinion. Very disappointed what a rip off and for barely any food . Complained to hostess she explained it was the new policy to charge 20% per meal regardless of party size. Prob won’t revisit they’re getting ridiculous and food is mediocre at best .

    We had reservations at 6:15p. We didn’t get seated until after 7. We waited over 20 minutes for our server. Another 25-30 mins before the chef came. We didn’t eat until after 8pm.
