   Our dinners that were cooked at the table were great . We ordered one meal to go that was terrible. We ordered the Hibachi Shrimp to go . There was no soup, no salad, , no sauces. Just rice and shrimp with vegies . It cost $35.20 + tax and tip, what a rip off. So very disappointed .

   If I could give Benihana more than 5 stars I would. Went here for my 21st birthday and had one of the most fun and memorable dining experiences of my life. Special shoutouts to our server Jaeden and our chef Brad. These guys provided our table with attentive service and perfectly cooked food all night. There isn't anything that could have been better about that night. 100% would recommend to all of my friends.

   The world is understaffed and that was the case at Benihana also. We arrived at 7pm, got seated quickly, but our main course did not start until after 8:30. Good food and a fun cooking show but too long to wait.

   The noise level was high but tolerated. I liked the food too it was delicious. It is rather pricey but overall a good value. There were 3 celebrations at our table out of 7 people. I liked the picture they gave us. Big hit! Thank you

    New chef tonight and he wasn’t trained very well. Food was bland and not seasoned well. Steak was also over cooked.

    This was a fun place and our first time there. There were only four of us in our party so another group of four was seated with us. They were fine and our groups didn’t converse much, but be aware is you have a small group you will be seated with others. The fried rice was amazing, they have extra so after they serve everyone they will ask who wants the extra, they’ll split it up if more than one, but get the extra you can alway take it to go. My picky kids ate everything, I was suspect of the salad dressing, but when I look over and see my kid scarfing it down I had to go for it. I have think it was a ginger cirrus dressing. The place is not cheap, so for a family of 4, I would say you can expect $180+. Definitely not a weekly experience, but worth it. If you are watching you sodium content you need to speak up at the beginning because the soy sauce, added salt and other sauces will definitely put you over your daily sodium allotment

    Celebrating my son's 23rd birthday and he wanted Benihana. I haven't been in a while so I thought it would be a good choice. My other son joined us and the three of us had a great time. The food was as good as I remember, and the chef was appropriately amusing. My only critique is that the San Diego restaurant seemed tired and could have used a thorough cleaning. The carpets were somewhat dirty and even the table/cook area was a little grimy. I would recommend Benihana to a friend with the caveat that the restaurant needs a little TLC.

    Everything was great except for the parking situation. There was no real clarity as to where we were ok to park and the parking lot was full. All the hostess had different answers about the parking so that was my only real complaint. Everything else was enjoyable

    My wife and I have been dining at Benihana together for the past 16 years. The last few times we have noted that the prices have gone up and the portions have shrunk. Last night was the most notable. The bill for my wife, 3 kids (7,6,3), and myself. That was without drinks! The price is now outrageous and the portions are so small it was a waste of money. My 7 y/o, who is only 48lbs, wanted scallops so we let him get the adult entrée. He was able to eat the whole meal. This is a kid that can’t even finish a cheeseburger meal from in n out. With a price increase of over 50% and the portions as small as they were, sadly it’s not worth returning again. Thanks for the memories Benihana, but for $200 I could cook a better meal at home.

    We waited over 30 minutes to even receive drinks from our server. Didn’t even have a chef until 1 and 45 minutes into our time sitting at the table.

    The waitress we had was terrible. She was rude and messed up everyone’s bill at the table she had to reprint my receipt 4 times before she got it right. I regret even leaving a tip as the service from the waitress was terrible.

    Although it’s dinning and an experience, it’s very pricey. Expect to drop a few hundreds. The parking is an issue, so be prepared to arrive early.

    Benihanas is one of our family favorite restaurants, We always go to benihanas on special occasions, this time was my daughter 18th Birthday. I have have to say it was one of our worst experiences. I chef was very slow and acted like he did not know what he was doing, He did not interact with us at all just cooked. He seemed very new and nervous. Although he tried very hard, I don't blame him as the management team should know not to put someone so green out on the floor.

    Not even busy, we order drinks take about 33 minutes to give us the drinks the come out before the drinks, the mushrooms for the soup very thick they made their own siracha test like pure vinegar very strong

    The service is bad! I had to ask 3 times to get a cup of ice!! And my daughter was not served her plain rice with everyone when we all got fried rice. We had to ask twice for her to get the plain rice. The chef was way done cooking till she even got her plain rice!! I also asked for spicy sauce twice! And good luck finding anyone to even help you, they are out of sight and rarely check back in! Even the chef was annoyed with our service. The server also had attitude and just wouldn’t get us the items we needed. It was horrible! It seems they need to do some purging of their server staff and hire more attentive employees ASAP!!

    It was my husbands birthday, plus another gentleman at the table. Not once did the cook acknowledge my husband, only the other gentleman, gave him extra rice, at least three times said "Happy Birthday". So it was a little disappointing.

    Great experience but hostess was not helpful at all. Hostess said that the gift card we brought in would need to be printed. It’s 2023…… no one prints anything these days. Thought we’d miss out on using the gift card and having to use another method of payment. Server resolved the problem with a solution that was unproblematic.

    We told our server and chef our nephew have sesame seed and egg allergy. Still accidentally used sesame seed on fried rice. And didn’t inform us yakisoba have egg. Our nephew had pretty bad allergic reaction.

    We had reservations for 8. They took our order and then informed us the chef wouldn’t be at the grill until an hour later. My husband and I decided to just eat at the bar. The food isn’t as good as it used to be. Not worth the money in my opinion.

    the attitude from the receptionist terrible , they do not seems to worry for the attention , no manager showed up and all of them on their phones checking everything except the customers ( i took a picture in case someone needed ) also they are overwhelmed and they took to much time to start serving our food ? our reservation was at 7:15 we were on time ( although their reservation policy is so strict ) and they started to take our order 1:45 minutes later arguing that they were busy and not to many employees ? they should not do that ? not for $350 dlls meal ! not coming anymore and would sent a letter to the corporate amd HR , terrible experience

    I came last week with my husband for his birthday and we had an amazing chef and an amazing time. Our food was so delicious and I went home and was raving to my family about it. So we decided to all go as a family. I was so excited for them to try it. It took a bit to get seated. Our reservation was at 7 and we got seated at 730. The server and waiter were great but it took over an hour for our chef to come. It was almost 9 pm when he showed up. He didn’t even say hi or introduce himself. My son, who is on the spectrum said hi 4 times and he ignored him. I finally spoke up and said he won’t stop saying hi until u say hi back. He didn’t even say hi just waved his hand at him rudely. I was super upset. On top of all of this, the food was not good at all. Veggies weren’t cooked my steak was over cooked snd dry and barely any sauce and butter on everything. Bland and dry food all around. We were so upset and just plain disappointed. I feel like the chef may have been having a bad day but it sucks that our experience wasn’t as good because of it. I felt bad so we didn’t even speak up but I just had to write a review to get it off my chest. We spent 400$ and left sad and disappointed. It was also very awkward for the chef to be quiet the entire time. Didn’t say a word when other chefs were yelling and joking and around us. Just a sad experience honestly
