Excellent service and food - great choice for a business meal in a really accessible area of the city. It’s was a little annoying when a large business group came in and started banging loudly on tables but it didn’t last long... that was probably the biggest frustration. If go back and if certainly recommend it for others to go for a decent group meal.
I will be back soon but the food was rushed out when I would prefer to finish my app before my main came out. The waiter was lovely my food amazing and I love the vibe.
Fantastic food, service and wine. We sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting with Brian. We were surprised with a complimentary desert as a congratulations for wedding.
An early dinner before a show. Excellent food and service. Been going to Biff’s for years and highly recommend.
Outstanding! Cozy, intimate and elegant. The tan-coloured leather seats and banquettes add to the warmth and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed raw oysters, duck and mussels--everything was top notch! We stayed about 3 hours and enjoyed every minute of it.
My guest from California had the steak frites and the steak was very salty. He did not say anything in the restaurant as he was my guest and did not want to complain, however he told me later. If I had known I would have insisted that he have his meal replaced. It was so salty that he had a reaction!
I had the cobb salad which was fine, but nothing spectacular.
I had not been to your restaurant for quite a long time and was very disappointed, to say the least.
Excellent food, beautifully presented. Had the trout, and it was superb. Great place to go before a performance at the Meridian Theatre across the street. Nice decor, but could be a bit more cozy, especially during cold winter nights. The service was professional, unintrusive and business-like, which may be because it's located in the financial district. I'd recommend Biff's as a good option if you are looking for a French restaurant in that area, as a special occasion.
1/2 Price wine on Wednesdays!
Very good entrees. I had the beef bourguignon and my wife had the lamb entree. Both were quite delicious and attractively served. A French Pinot Noir paired nicely with both meals and was very reasonably priced. We had a very charming waiter who has developed the talent of good service without hovering. Well worth A try.
Always a very pleasant experience. Gives us the Parisian dining experience.
In a word, the service was: Disappointing. Everything took far too long to arrive at our table. Drinks took 20 minutes. The food, when it arrived, was smaller portions than we had expected. We ordered dessert (my friends, from out of town, were still hungry since the gnocchi was smaller portion than expected), and waited nearly 30 minutes for it to come to our table. The whole meal took 2 hours and at least half of that time was just spent waiting for things to arrive. I pointed this out to the waitress and she seemed completely oblivious.
This restaurant has been a standby of mine for a couple of years but not after this experience. Clearly no one is in a rush and I'm not convinced the waitstaff and kitchen staff and servers actually communicate with each other. Too expensive for so much sitting around.
Menu was lmited, prices were high for mediocre food and plating was bad (food crumpled on small serving plates).
Very very salty food. Had to send back. Couldn’t really taste any of the ingredients because the salt was so overwhelming.
We were a group of six women - three from Oshawa, two from Ancaster and one from Toronto so Biff's was a great place to meet and we all had a wonderful time. Thank you.
variety of choice on menu but the right amount of choices. my wife had the lamb burger and I had the calf's liver, with a lovely sonoma cab sauvignon, and creme brule for dessert. will definitely recommend and will return next time we are in Toronto
We had been for dinner earlier in the week and had such a pleasant and tasty meal that we returned for lunch on Friday to meet with friends from the past who had come into town from Hamilton. The service was very good and our requests to modify the menu were handled pleasantly.
Phenomenal service and food! Is loud inside hard to hear across table at times but well worth it!
Loud, pricey for what you get, and mediocre food. Not suitable for conversation.
Food is tasty but for the price, the portions are small and leave you hungry at the end of the meal.
Not sure it is value for money. It was very loud (fish market) but no complaints on that because I believe at peak lunch hour every restaurant will tend to be loud - 'energetic' in your language :-).
food was great! service was superb! you've got to go!
A big thank you to Biff's for being so accommodating (request for quiet table) and amazing, attentive service! Our server Al was personable and a fantastic host. Thanks so much for making a special occasion even more special for our guests of honour. We will definitely be back!
Authentic French cuisine served in a beautiful atmosphere. Soft jazz music made it easy to hear table conversation. I had the mussels and frittes and they were perfect. My husband had the perch and it was great. We shared the an appetizer and dessert and were satisfied. Great wine selection and service was impeccable!
Overall the meal was good. Request was made possible, service was good and food came out well cooked/seasoned and delicious.
Great place for dinner before a show. Great food and they get you out on time for your show.
Pre-concert dinner with friends. One of us has dietary restrictions that made French cuisine a challenge. The waiter questioned politely, spoke with the kitchen & brought a great meal that tasted super without causing any ill effects. Nicely done.
It was great
Both dishes were excellent.
Wine was a bit pricy but I knew that going in. So that’s ok.
customer service was excellent, food was good and venue was decent.
As always a great night out. We do appreciate that the music was not too loud but it was still a high volume because of the shear number of people and also a very large gathering adjacent to us
our waiter was very good at guiding us through the meal to get to our concert on time. Thanks!
An Awesome dinner ahead of the Elton John concert! Food was amazing and half priced bottles of wine! Mmmmm!!!
Amazing French food & authentic! Outstanding service....we loved it!!!
Al, our waiter was excellent.
Me and my husband had our anniversary here and it really made the event special. Al was our sever and was very accommodating, respectful, and pleasant. He made great conversation with us about Toronto and Ottawa, where we were from, and so much more. The food was very good. I am usually not one for French food due to small portion sizes but the food struck a balance between a decently portioned meal and the idea of French Cuisine in tack. The ambience was amazing with the whole French feel. Overall, the prices were not bad at all for downtown Toronto. Definitely would recommend and come back, especially for events.
We really enjoyed the atmosphere and service in the restaurant. The cream of mushroom soup and French onion soup were excellent as was the trout. It would be great to see more vegetarian and vegan options in the menu
I ordered the chicken club sandwich which turned out to be a chicken burger on an egg bun.
The chicken was difficult to eat as it was tough and sinewy. A big disappointment.
Food was good once they got the steak right. Ordered mediuM. Came very rare. Had to send it back. By the time it came back. Others were done
Wonderful food, perfectly prepared and presented (crispy pig's ears were fab!!) with great knowledgeable service from Brian made it an awesome culinary experience. Took a lovely walk to the nearby park and St. Lawrence Market to cap off a super evening!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I have passed them on the Bryan!
The food was great. Had the pork knuckle and the mushroom soup. I don't even like mushrooms and I would get the soup again. The bill was sizeable but I was happy to pay it. Waiting staff was friendly and attentive even though we weren't drinking.
Oysters and Wine with Friends! We left very happy! Great food, great service!!!
Very disappointing service
Ignorant and rude
Will not be returning
Was regular for many years
