Our group of four went to Biff’s for dinner. The waiter (John) was excellent and provided great table service. I had escargot and was quite surprised for a French restaurant we were not provided with small snail fork to pull the meat from the shell, in addition the shell clamp was broken (too loose to hold the shell). The food however was good but could have been served warmer, everything was lukewarm. The wine prices were high (approximately $75 a bottle or $27 for an 8 ounce glass). The sofa seats were uncomfortable and far too low how the table height. Admittedly we arrived just on the tail end of the theatre going diners, but the toilets were dirty, one stall didn’t have toilet paper and the floor was a mess, this was disappointing for a restaurant of this calibre. Overall the food was very flavourful, just a little pricey.

Food was fantastic. The staff were very attentive and made sure we were out in time to make the show we had tickets for. The espresso martini was the best I’ve had! Definitely will be back here!

In town for an event and made almost last minute reservations. They accommodated our delay in arrival when we called saying we would be late than expected. The host brought us each a small glass of sparkling wine to help us relax after the chaos of travel. Tried a La Bastille cocktail, and was impressed that it was not the sweet cocktails one usually finds on restaurant menus. My husband had the canard(duck) main course and I had the mushroom wild rice risotto. The food was delicious, and the only complaint I would have is that the portion of risotto was too generous as I could not finish all of it. However, I confess that I did want to save room for dessert. I had the apple ( pomme) tart, while my husband had the one chocolate dessert on the menu ( he is an avowed “ chocoholic”). The desserts were great. The apple tart allowed the natural sweetness of the fruit to shine, and my husband was pleasantly surprised that the infusion of port wine in the chocolate dessert enhanced the depth of the chocolate flavour. I accompanied my dessert with a cappuccino which made for a perfect end to my meal.

We have walked by Biff’s Bistro dozens of times but had never stopped in until last night. We most certainly will be back. The food and service were exceptional. If there was is one downside it is that the tables are a little close together, but it is a French Bistro so I suppose that should be expected. Enjoy!

Perfect before the theatre! A friend and I went before a show at Meridian Hall. They have a fixed price menu for such an occasion. Outstanding value for such delicious food. Service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere of an upscale bistro. Will definitely be returning.

Service was pleasant though often had to wave to get their attention. Very busy night. Apps were fine - oysters were fresh tasting. Both of us ordered steak. It arrived cool, the fries and green beans were cold. They took them away, came back with fresh fries and beans and the steak had been put under the warmer. The only problem with this is that the medium rare went to more medium well. Overall for the $50+ price tag on the steak they could do better. We didn’t send it back again as we had a show to catch and sometimes you just don’t complain because you don’t want to spoil the evening.

Bathrooms are horrible and someone else’s food was delivered to us and after 5 minutes delivered same food to another table. In this era of covid, those salads should have been disposed and remade.

Had a lovely pre-theatre dinner of well-prepared bistro classics. Service was attentive and timely, even though the restaurant was extremely busy with a large party and other holiday groups. Our waiter was an "old hand", very professional, but also personable, making the dinner a really pleasant experience and getting us to the theatre on time.

Very attentive service. The prix fixe was well priced. The roast chicken was arrestingly good and my companion left nothing of his lamb gnocchi. Cocktail specials tempted and the wine list is well appointed with some good by the glass options. Biff's is still a solid! Thank you!

We celebrated my son's birthday and were not disappointed. I must note that when booking through OpenTable, I did not know that there is a noisier restaurant on the bar side as well as the dining room we'd enjoyed in the past. When seated, we asked to be moved and the server was gracious enough to set up a table for us in the dining room so that we could celebrate and enjoy each other's company without the loud music at the bar. We enjoyed happy hour cocktails, oysters and wine; the escargots, ratatouille and steak frites were delicious. Our friend had the duck and raved about it, too.

This is a lovely restaurant with “dishes of the day” that should not be missed! The food gras terrine with calvados jam and apple butter was simply scrumptious and was impeccably presented.

Something special about this place that I noticed is different from other restaurants is that there are no bad seats… every area has a view of the restaurant and its gorgeous decor. The art deco inspired lighting is really pretty… all of it! I’d compare it to Cluny… but Biff’s is more intimate, romantic, and warm. Had a birthday dinner with two friends here — the ambience was perfect. Already planning on bringing a date in the future because it’s perfect for romance, too. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I’m a salad with fish and creme brulée kinda person which was exactly what they had on their menu. They have this chocolate icing-esque dessert I’ve been seeing on French TikTok and I thankfully got to try because my friends ordered it… so I’m also coming back to get one for myself 😂 The staff was professional. Above expectations on that… napkin on your lap service. You can tell they run a tight ship with the professionalism of their behaviour… in the best way. I wish more restaurants in Toronto were like this. The prices were good considering the food(quality, options, and portions), the thoughtful/accurate French art deco look of the restaurant (well done!), and the service(similar to Musso and Frank in Los Angeles). It was also quite busy on a Tuesday evening… which is a good sign in my books. The bathroom wasn’t good for mirror selfies but we took a photo in the restaurant and that was much better anyway because the art deco themed decor is so well done. Anyway. I’ll be back! Don’t be afraid to try it and have fun. Save room for dessert because that chocolate icing thing was bangin’.

We enjoyed great food in a very nice atmosphere. We were given a private table that was nice (although there was no overhead light so it was hard to read the menu). Our waiter was a great guy, but we felt the service was less than attentive. At a restaurant like this, we wouldn't expect our water glasses to be empty. The music was really loud (it was happy hour). We ordered coffee and dessert. It ended up coffee after dessert when I reminded the waiter I never received my coffee. Again, the food was perfect. These are just a few observations we wanted to share.
