Went for New Years 2022. Restaurant was empty b/c of covid. Wasn’t overcrowded good space between each table.
Food was great, lovely service. Price is fair for the experience, on par price wise with the keg. Was a lovely night out and would certainly look at returning for another time.
NYE night out with my sweetheart … The Beef Wellington was spectacular (a religious experience) and our server was best in class. We’ll done O&B, we’ll be back.
Overall very good experience. Started with tasty Caesar salad. Beef Bourguignon was excellent and a large portion. Unfortunately the duck was not tender and disappointing.
However the menu is extensive, intriguing and worth exploring on our next visit.
Our server and other staff were welcoming and efficient.
Great location and ambience .
We will be back.
It was a little scary going out to a restaurant in the midst of the omicron surge, but the reduced capacity at the restaurant as well as the protocols employed to keep diners safe, were reassuring.
Our server was attentive, competent and friendly; the food was plated nicely and tasted delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and had a lovely ambience.
The interior and service are really good. The food is generally okay. Great place for date.
Lovely meal as always! Can’t go wrong with Biff’s. We got the steak frites, lamb, and three desserts - all delicious.
Dinner at Biffs Bistro was perfect, we had buck a shuck oysters to start with, a nice bottle of French white wine, our appetizers were delicious, I had escargot, and my wife had ris de veal, or sweetbreads, for mains I had fabulous lamb shank, and my wife had duck risotto. The serving staff were amazing, Luciana our waitress from Brazil, was entertaining, she was training Akshish from India, and we also had Isadora from France serving us. Together they all helped to make our experience a memorable one with International flavours, we all spoke animatedly about how travel was an education. We highly recommend the restaurant for both the excellent food as well as the outstanding service provided.
We came here to get pommes aligot and some pig ears but since the chef change, it's not on the menu anymore. Nonetheless the food was delicious.
Food was just okay. The service was stretched too thin which prevented them from being attentive. The timing was off—first ordered pre dinner cocktails that arrived after our appetizers (ordered after) were done and ordered glasses of wine with dinner that arrived long after our entrees.
Nice elegant ambient. The food is really good eventhough a bit pricey compared to other similar restaurants. Will definitely go back.
Buff’s has a spacious indoor dining area - one side for bars and the other for regular dining. We were seated in the corner with comfy booth seats. They played lively music but it was not too loud and great for conversations. It is quite dark in the dining room though so might be hard for photos.
They had a wide selection of appetizers and mains, I had the lamb which was cooked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bones! Very tender and juicy.
The servers were quick and checked on us several times throughout the night. Always making sure our dirty dishes and utensils were cleared up and everyone’s comfortable.
Service was great, meal was excellent, we had a lovely night out celebrating a birthday.
Food was excellent as always! Service was a bit slow, but our server was later supported by the rest of the team and it was better!
Lovely low key place to unwind and have a meal. The pork chop w cabbage was devine and the duck w the wheatberry was good aswell.
Consistently good. This was my first time dining here since C19 all started so I wasn't sure what to expect (I've noticed quality at some of my favorite restos has slipped). I'm happy to report that it's still a fantastic spot with an excellent menu and wonderful service. I will definitely be returning to more frequent dining at Biff's.
After two years of isolation I took my fiancee to Biff's for her birthday, as we haven't been able to celebrate anything for quite some time. My experience last night was my first indoor dining in Toronto since the pandemic started, and I couldn't be happier. The service was excellent; I felt safe and comfortable inside, distanced from other guests, and our server was happy to fill us in on their protocols, not to mention being just a terrific server regardless. The food was extremely good: the phyllo-wrapped brie appetizer has turned me off grocery-store brie moving forward because it was just that impressive, my fiancee's coq au vin was easily the best chicken I've ever tasted, and even a simple steak was cooked exactly to my specifications and beautifully seasoned. Lots of great drink options as well, and I was very happy with what we got for the price point. Very highly recommend if you're a fan of French cuisine or are looking for a somewhat more upscale locale to celebrate a special evening, as we did. Thanks to the staff and chefs at Biff's for a truly enjoyable night!
I came to the place for wine and oysters. Highly recommended!
Everything was wonderful except the music was too loud. Decorations and service were exceptional. The food was excellent.
We ordered the baked truffle Brie and it was absolutely the best way to start a meal! Our server Devon was fantastic and gave us the best recommendations for the night! The bee’s knees drink was delicious and the gnocci Parisienne and the steak frites were amazing. Devon suggested the crème brûlée as her favourite desert and she did not steer us wrong! All the food was so delicious, will definitely be coming back next time I’m in town!
Failed to tell us that the kitchen closed at 9:30 when they sat us at 9:30…so let us order cocktails that tasted horribly and then only when we went to order did they tell us the kitchen was closed..
Very good as usual
The food is excellent. The service was slower than usual due to a large group dining. There should be accommodations made when large groups are booked so other diners don't have to wait an extended time for their meals.
Had a great lunch meeting at Biff with an important client. Perfect setting for allowing good discussions over a delicious meal. I will go back!
Food and service were good. We waited quite a long time for our waitress to take our order but it was a busy night though (Nov 30).
Great food, plus excellent deal on $1 oysters! The Boeuf Bourguignon was a bit dry, but fois gras, onion soup and the pork chop were all excellent dishes! Our server Robert was great and made our dining experience a pleasant one. Space between tables was a bit tight. All in all, a worthwhile restaurant to add on our regular dining list.
What a great meal. Nice ambience. Fantastic service by Al who has been serving customers for decades. The cocktails and French food was exquisite, portions were good. We had the shrimp cocktail, escargot, truffled baked Brie, lamb, duck and sea bass - we all loved our food. Our first time here and we will be back. Well run restaurant.
Biff's is one of my favourite Toronto Restaurants. I have never had a disappointing visit.
Excellent dollar value. Hosts were very attentive and welcoming
Great food, great service and a wonderful experience, highly recommend this restaurant
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Really enjoyed our time there.
The steak was too salty, and fatty. We really like the place and the service is superb. Just got disappointed with our steak. Was very hungry we ate it anyway.
Very nice place, friendly staff; but service quite slow. Various issues with waiting for food and service.
Food was very good, but as not served in timely manner it wasn’t as good as it could have been.
Enjoyed the evening. Service was excellent. Food did not disappoint. Oysters and sauces tho were horrible. Not ordering them again. Such a bummer.
Wonderful ambiance, great food. The staff are excellent. We very much appreciated that they were in no hurry to get us in and out. Great meals should never be hurried. Came back later in the evening, after the Leaf game, for a nightcap. That's how much we enjoyed the experience!
I had the Coq Au Vin and my partner had the Trout Amandine and we share the Potted Shrimp
The food and service was perfect, it had a hotel bar vibe but with really well done French food
Our party went there for dinner for the first time and we were all completely satisfied. It might have been the first visit but will definitely not be the last the next time we are in the city.
Having been a couple times pre-COVID, there was a clear difference in quality, to the worse now. They are still very good, don’t get me wrong, but they used to be excellent.
Linen table cloths have been replaced with paper, food is over salted and just not quite as good as before. Almost feels like O&B has taken over and tried to make Biffs more of a machine for efficiency rather than fine dining.
Would definitely dine here again, though I will likely find a new spot for special occasions.
The nicoise salad was superb! The tuna was fresh and cooked beautifully. outstanding!
Dinner with my daughter
